    Hi, Glenda! I guess it's been a while since you have gotten a comment on this pattern! I have a habit of creating files in my RUclips app for everything that catches my eye as far as crochet patterns go. My latest project is making each one of my 4 grandchildren a nice poncho. Three girls and a boy. Took me a while to save quite a few, about 25 patterns. This poncho pattern of yours fit what I wanted it to look like the best. My grandmother made me a poncho in purples when I was about 8 years old. I don't have it anymore, but I still remember it! I'm hoping my grandchildren remember the ones that I am making for them now. I am turning 65 years old in May. My great grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was 13 years old! So, it's been a long time! Thanks, Glenda!

    Thank you for the tutorial. I just purchased the same yarn you used for this project. I was amazed how fast I was able to complete the poncho. I'm a big fan of Creative Grandma!

    First, I want to say thank you for all of these great instruction videos! They're so easy to follow and helpful for learning how to do a lot of crochet stuff that I just couldn't seem to understand before.
    Do you think that, for making an adult size for these, you could make the beginning chain approximately 10 or 12 stitches longer and go from there? Also, maybe gauge it by measuring around your shoulders, or whomever you're making it for and go from there? What would your advice be? 😊

    • @CreativeGrandma
      @CreativeGrandma  7 лет назад +8

      Hello Rebecca, Thank you so much for your kind words. I have not made this in a adult size, but I did take this one and put it over my head to try to guess how much bigger to start the chain by the way this one fit. It fit over my head but was very tight around my neck. So I would increase the chain to 108 and do the first 2 or 3 rnds and see if it fits around the head and neck area ok. I am not sure what size adult size you need, so if 108 is tto large then decrease 12 chain or increase in multiples of 12 until you get the right fit. You will have to adjust where your front and back corners are as well. I hope this helped.

    • @ruthiebabe3638
      @ruthiebabe3638 10 месяцев назад

      I just made this for my daughter.
      It wouldn't be hard to adjust this for an adult, just make the starting chain big enough to go over the head. As someone else said, it's in multiples of 6 (3 for either side to make sure it's even). Then just keep going until it's the desired length. 😊

    • @yyonak
      @yyonak 10 месяцев назад

      U could probably make this using the largest child size she mentions at the beginning of the video. As you're working on your poncho, the neckline will naturally stretch. So all u need to do is crochet it to your desired length. Good luck 😊
