Lovebites are mostly known for their power metal, some of their biggest influences include Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, Judas Priest so naturally they also do Thrash metal, Heavy Rock and some sweet Ballads also. Because you reacted to a fast song i'm gonna recommend you do a different side of theirs, try Lovebites - Edge of the World Live at Zepp in Tokyo 2020. Shadowmaker and When Destinies Align are great "intro", then you go further on and masterpiece after masterpiece. Lovebites are ahead of everyone. Like you said Asami uses a lot of vibrato and to actually hear her you need several songs, like Epilogue (one of the best ballads made), Edge of the World, Swan Song, Thunder Vengeance, , Empty Daydream, Burden of time (keyboard + gutar at same time), Signs of Deliverence (dual guitar on catwalk with overhand tapping in perfect sync) ... yup to me they are the best band right now, with Band-Maid, Nemophila and Scandal following closely. All Japanese all-female bands. Then you realize there are another two, three dozen of exceptional all female bands, then mixed bands, then male bands, then Visual Kei and you can easily be lost in J-Rock.
Haruna, the Pocket Nuke, unstoppable. They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan for awhile). Miho (bass) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (Drums), and they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, and the whole group found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time. Avoid the Bloodstock lives. They audio checked in a different stage and the last minute (because one of the bands failed to appear) they had to perform in a different stage. The sound is horrible.

if you like lovebites and band maid... others will start suggesting other japanese all-female bands like aldious and cyntia. aldious is probably the most varied of the bands, they have quite a few really good ballads like "fragile" and "piece of my wish" but also some heavier songs like "sweet temptation" and "go away"

Looking for a pretty good drummer? Tamu Murata is a pretty woman with a lovely smile, but she's also an awesomely good drummer. All the members of NEMOPHILA are great. One of their original song is OIRAN (in japanese language),they also did a lot of cover versions (Iron Maiden,Kiss,AC/DC etc.).

Great you've reacted to them 😊 Haruna is a beast on the drums and Miyako a genius. Miho is power metal stance central on the bass and Midori is the perfect foil to Miyako on the duelling guitar. I can't believe such a powerful voice comes out of the tiny Asami. Thunder Vengeance Live and Holy War Live both absolutely rip too, both in production and just pure technical ability. You need to check these both out, although as others, have said about the Bloodstock edits as the sound quality is poor here. 😊
Nemophila, is another great girl band. Drummer Tamu, like Akane has a great smile, that just makes you feel great. Both such talented drummers. They are each from different bands, and freinds that formed last year. Try their song Raikei.

Lovebites are awesome. So are Band-Maid, but Lovebites have moved ahead of them in my "favourite bands" list. It's kind of funny that people always recommend Band-Maid in Babymetal reactions, and recommend Lovebites in Band-Maid reactions, because they're not similar in many respects aside from being from the same country and women. It's kind of like, "oh, you like Nickelback, then you need to react to Rush!"...like being male and Canadian makes them somehow "similar"....but, whatever, I get it...the all-female Japanese rabbit hole is deep and a lot of fun. Yeah you just sow the winners of 2018 in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are formed 2016 in Tokyo from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer and Haruna the drummer ( Haruna is the best power metal female drummer in the world at the moment). The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter, Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals with the blonde hair and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer( she is the main composer). Their last album Electric pentagram is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. It's unbelievable how they played for that short time together. Huge talent. Amazing. Check the songs Thunder vengeance and Holly war from their last concert Five of a kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year.

Lovebites live perfornances are better than their studio recordings, heavier and louder. Choose nything from their Live at Zepp Diver City concert in early 2020 and you cannot go wrong. All members of Lovebites have had formal musical training since a very early age. Miyako. the guitarist playing the Dean Icon has playd classical piano since the age of three. Midori the guitarist with the white ESP started learning the piano at the age of two. Bith guitarists started learning the guitar at a relatively late age, Miyako at eighteen and Midori at twenty. They are both around thirty years old.

Crazy it may be.. They even sound better and more epic When playing LIVE on stage. Chk out Thunder vengeance, holy war, raise some hell, hammer of wrath. And not to discredit your statement with the Bandmaid comparison but both are completely different style/genre of music. It just won’t work. I would love to see both perform on the same stage but one does Power Metal the other is Alternative w/a little heavy rock. Lovebites had that 80’s/90’s metal vibe while the other is more modern progressive rock in today’s music. Not to start any fan wars but Lovebites is just in a whole another level compare to modern metal music these days. They can do any metal genre and rock as well. Bandmaid may be more popular with the general audience but way too mainstream for my liking. Very talented and great musicianship. Just not Lovebites level.

I love Shadowmaker, but that ad break in the middle makes it hard for me to recommend to people. All the videos afterwards don't do the ad break in the middle (though they had one other video that did, with a much more jarring ad break that included the opening riff from a different song).
Yep, their drummer is pretty killer. They would be right at home touring Europe with the power metal bands of the late 90s. Not my fave, mainly because I burnt myself out on power metal over the years, but you can't deny how good they are.

I would NEVER recommend anything but live from them. Its a great song, but I find the MVs so boring to watch, compared to the live clips. Haruna always looks cool, often smiling behind the skins. No matter how hard she hits! =D All the girls playing looks totally effordless. People use to say comment that. And many also comment Asamis voice, as a problem. You will love it in no time...if you are like most others!! ;) Even I, as a super fan, wasnt sure at first! A crazy good band, with many faces!

aldious is probably the most varied of the bands, they have quite a few really good ballads like "fragile" and "piece of my wish" but also some heavier songs like "sweet temptation" and "go away"

If you are going down this rabbithole, i suggest you have a look at the band NEMOPHILA, a newly formed group of five female musicians. Here is how JRockNews present them. "NEMOPHILA, formed on September 5 in 2019, is a supergroup consisting of some familiar names from the girls’ rock scene. They are lead by guitarist SAKI from Mary’s Blood, who recruited former LIPSTICK vocalists mayu, guitarist Hazuki from Disqualia, bassist Haraguchi-san from HöLDERLINS, and drummer Muratatamu from SORAMIMI. Together, they released the headbanger, OIRAN, digitally through Spotify and Apple Music on February 29."
I think you will find another favorite in drummer Tamu (alongside Akane of course). Ther is some drumcams of her in previous projects, ask me if you want the links.

Tamu Murata is a pretty woman with a lovely smile, but she's also an awesomely good drummer.
All the members of NEMOPHILA are great. One of their original song is OIRAN (in japanese language),they also did a lot of cover versions (Iron Maiden,Kiss,AC/DC etc.).
Love Nemophila, Tamu and Akane for me on drums. Both so talented, yet smile so much, making their music feel great.

Haruna is a beast on the drums and Miyako a genius. Miho is power metal stance central on the bass and Midori is the perfect foil to Miyako on the duelling guitar. I can't believe such a powerful voice comes out of the tiny Asami.
Thunder Vengeance Live and Holy War Live both absolutely rip too, both in production and just pure technical ability. You need to check these both out, although as others, have said about the Bloodstock edits as the sound quality is poor here. 😊
Nemophila, is another great girl band. Drummer Tamu, like Akane has a great smile, that just makes you feel great. Both such talented drummers. They are each from different bands, and freinds that formed last year. Try their song Raikei.

Lovebites are awesome. So are Band-Maid, but Lovebites have moved ahead of them in my "favourite bands" list. It's kind of funny that people always recommend Band-Maid in Babymetal reactions, and recommend Lovebites in Band-Maid reactions, because they're not similar in many respects aside from being from the same country and women. It's kind of like, "oh, you like Nickelback, then you need to react to Rush!"...like being male and Canadian makes them somehow "similar"....but, whatever, I get it...the all-female Japanese rabbit hole is deep and a lot of fun. I forgot what I actually came here to write.

Yeah you just sow the winners of 2018 in category for best new metal band. Lovebites are formed 2016 in Tokyo from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer and Haruna the drummer ( Haruna is the best power metal female drummer in the world at the moment). The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter, Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals with the blonde hair and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer( she is the main composer). Their last album Electric pentagram is nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. It's unbelievable how they played for that short time together. Huge talent. Amazing. Check the songs Thunder vengeance and Holly war from their last concert Five of a kind in Zepp Diversity Tokyo from this year.
All I am going to say is they are (like Band Maid) better live and there is plenty to react to as others will suggest I second all of them 🤘just stay away from the live performances at bloodstock the audio is crap.

Lovebites live perfornances are better than their studio recordings, heavier and louder. Choose nything from their Live at Zepp Diver City concert in early 2020 and you cannot go wrong. All members of Lovebites have had formal musical training since a very early age. Miyako. the guitarist playing the Dean Icon has playd classical piano since the age of three. Midori the guitarist with the white ESP started learning the piano at the age of two. Bith guitarists started learning the guitar at a relatively late age, Miyako at eighteen and Midori at twenty. They are both around thirty years old.

Just like Band-Maid, those girls are only worth seeing live, scrap the MVs - go live))) Thunder Vengence, Shadowmaker, Holy War, Empty Daydream...just pick any song, you can't go wrong))) Burden Of Time - it is a live studio session and you will be gobsmacked. When you react to "Raise Some Hell", live from Zepp...make sure you strap up to the chair lest you take a tumble...))) All of these girls are classically trained and none is a musician by sheer happenstance, none!!! Miyako will take your heart away, just like Misa, Misa, Misa))) Miyako is a piano player that never had a string instrument before she was 18...all these ladies...they are out of this world!!! Whether is a power-metal or progressive hard-rock...the home of music now is...JAPAN)))
Crazy it may be.. They even sound better and more epic When playing LIVE on stage. Chk out Thunder vengeance, holy war, raise some hell, hammer of wrath. And not to discredit your statement with the Bandmaid comparison but both are completely different style/genre of music. It just won’t work. I would love to see both perform on the same stage but one does Power Metal the other is Alternative w/a little heavy rock. Lovebites had that 80’s/90’s metal vibe while the other is more modern progressive rock in today’s music. Not to start any fan wars but Lovebites is just in a whole another level compare to modern metal music these days. They can do any metal genre and rock as well. Bandmaid may be more popular with the general audience but way too mainstream for my liking. Very talented and great musicianship. Just not Lovebites level.

I have to say but first Band-Maid is a great band. But to compare them to Lovebites is like comparing Metallica to the Beatles

As you drummer, you will discover that in Japan there are some awesome drummers. in the next generation, an upcoming drummer is Yoyoko, an 11 year old that's been playing since she was 2. I love Shadowmaker, but that ad break in the middle makes it hard for me to recommend to people. All the videos afterwards don't do the ad break in the middle (though they had one other video that did, with a much more jarring ad break that included the opening riff from a different song).

Check "Holy War" from their Tokyo concert... avoid every other live recording than the Tokyo one like a plague... they're not very good.

Yep, their drummer is pretty killer. They would be right at home touring Europe with the power metal bands of the late 90s. Not my fave, mainly because I burnt myself out on power metal over the years, but you can't deny how good they are.
Lovebites toured the UK with DragonForce last winter.

I would NEVER recommend anything but live from them. Its a great song, but I find the MVs so boring to watch, compared to the live clips. Haruna always looks cool, often smiling behind the skins. No matter how hard she hits! =D All the girls playing looks totally effordless. People use to say comment that. And many also comment Asamis voice, as a problem. You will love it in no time...if you are like most others!! ;) Even I, as a super fan, wasnt sure at first!
