How to solve the problem of losing the car radio memory after taking ignition off.
Many times in the radio car aftermarket the power cables (yellow and red) are the opposite of the original ones of the car and to fix this you have to reverse these cables between them.
Thanks, helped me bunches. First radio I’ve installed since the’90’s, same brand with identical looking wiring harnesses. Guess you have to assume that they’re going to change something on a new model. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for the Knowledge. It helped very much even with My radio. It had 2 reds and 1 yellow. So it was red hooked to red and red hooked with yellow and I switched the yellow to the other and and red to red again and it worked. Now my Stereo doesn’t reset when I turn my truck off and on.
Thank you great video do you know how to keep stereo on when ignition is off please
you have to connect both the red and yellow cables to the car's permanent plus, but this also has disadvantages, every time you have to turn off the radio manually because it won't stop when you remove the key from the ignition.
Cheers mate. Fixed my problem. Correct store bought adaptor. Apparently. ... Thumbs up!
My Stereo doesn’t save the settings. It also needs to have both red and both yellow (all four) connected in order for it to turn on. It won’t turn on with yellow+red and red+yellow.
Did you ever figure it out?
does the stereo turns off when you remove the key when you swap these cables?
Yes, only if you put both cables on permanent plus the radio does not turn off when you remove the key from the ignition, or if the cables are reversed between them.
My Kia Spectra radio was able to search/seek all radio stations previously for memory but now it only selects a few strong stations that can be stored! I can't even save it by manual tuning! Any help, please! Maha, Malaysia
As I changed the two wires the two touched and the car made a beep for a sec(astra g) could it made any problems?
Hi same problem i got. Have you fixed the problem? Please let me know
@@vikassharma-pq3ro it made no damages in the end for the car
Hi can you please advise how to switch of sony sterio beeping(caution alarm) when take the key put from ignition?
@@vikassharma-pq3ro i dont have sony stereo but on my blaupunkt in the stereos menu it has a turn off option for the beeping.
Been struggling with this for a moment for two. This video works cheers mate
I'm just gonna say, thank you.
So I tried a few different combinations the only way to even get the radio to come on is to have red and yellow together it shuts off by itself when I turn the key off but it acts like I just turned it on for the first time every time I start the car like yours was doing
You must have a 12v permanent wire, at the moment you have both wires connected to the 12v igntition and when you remove the key
from the ignition the memory disappears, one of the wires must (red or yellow) depending on the radio must be connected to 12v permanent.
as a rule the + and - voltage wires are thicker than the others, you should have 3 thicker wires at the car plug, it is also possible to have the fuse blown on 12v permanently, if none of the wires have 12v with the key removed from the ignition.
Thx a lot
I have been looking for a while to find a solution
ty bro u helped me to much appreciate ❤️

Thanks man!! I worked for me
Brother you are the best thanks
Worked perfect. ❤
Thanks that helps
does this not drain the battery?
no, maybe if you don't start the car for 1 year, it could discharge the battery ;)
Can i connect yellow to red and dont swap wires just connect yellow to res
yes, but you have to turn off the radio manualy, It will not turn off automatically when you remove the key from the ignition.
@@XoNGameDroid okey tnx
Thank you
Works, thsnks bro
Excelent, tks!
Worked
Tried it and didn’t work 😔
If u have pink wire on ur radio connect the yellow and pink togetger and try that
@@x-i-clap-ttvs7876 it was the fuse. Thanks
@@Highsteel21 was it like the fuse in the back of the radio or the radio fuse in the fuse box i havent got to mess with mine yet cause ive been helping others with their car troubles but i know mine resets when i turn off my truck
@@x-i-clap-ttvs7876 mine was the fuse in the engine compartment by the engine. I couldn’t get the radio to work so I connected the yellow wire to the red. I believe that’s what caused the fuse to pop. Hope you get it to work.
@@Highsteel21 thanks man i think i just need to switch the yellow wire to the red on mine so it saves my memory
thank you
