Weird...try now...may a stray space was originally in the link. I just tested it.
@@AudiophileJunkie Same. but I am watching it @ watch?v=JW9lp4vErYI ?
The Sourcepoint models are incredible but you can't beat the laws of small room acoustics. Yes, you can find a nearly-perfect spot for full range stereo speakers in a room for even bass response but it'll be just that. One spot. Even then, it may still not be entirely flat. In small room acoustics, a properly integrated multi-sub approach will always give the best experience.
Again, the Sourcepoints are incredible. Anyone would be blessed to have a pair.
Great stuff!!!!
(IMO) the title of this video, ""What More Do You Want?" applies/ or should be strongly considered by many audiophiles who are constantly trying to improve their systems (particularly those with rooms that are less than ideal - and spending more will not necessarily provide a worthwhile/ positive improvement, I've been there/ done that).
This track is very well recorded with deep bass & sparkling guitars….
Even on RUclips with headphones it sounds pretty dang good. And that’s with the lights on, dim the lights and add a lava lamp or two and other things will add even more improvement:)
Nice
I wish people could hear the bass we got in that room. It's the only thing you phone does not pick up well in the recordings.
What was the song with that deep 30hz tone
When I normally listen to audiophile reviews like this on my headphone, every once in a while I hear a video that is miles ahead of others. This is one of them. I wonder what kind of microphones you used to record this.
The bass was awesome, the voices realistic, sound that I’m sure would have gave me a good sound stage in a room with a stereo system.
Just a Galaxy S24 phone for recording. When you're in a good room with great speakers, it's even easy to hear via RUclips and a camera phone.
@@AudiophileJunkie That is so true! One of my friends sends me clips of his sound system all the time he changes anything and sound so good. He treated his garage and his system is nowhere near as expensive as mine however, his sounds better than mine. One day i will treat my listening room too. I just have to!
Yes
What more do you want…in the audiophile world…EVERYTHING!
Lol... That's true, but certain products can help you mitigate that neuroticism 🤠
Watching the next video now 😎
There’s a bald spot in frequency response 😂
Andrew in slippers, so funny
Very cool. Do you know what panels he is using?
Speakers a mile into the room.
Need to try that
Fascinating and revealing video, thanks for sharing. In a previous shared video, Andrew discussed the influence of the Quad on his sound design aesthetics and his Mofi speakers, at least from what I’ve heard at shows, couldn’t be further afield, sound wise, from those legendary Quad’s. Even replicated through the crude RUclips transfer the Quads sound so much more musical and natural, not like speakers at all. When I listen to the Mofi speakers I hear sound but not musicality. Sure, the price point and manufacturing are vastly different but I don’t hear the influence of the Quad in any of his speakers.
Can you please ask Andrew about this panels on the wall? Where can one get them? Or if there were built by him? If they were, some specs, please? Thank you
What amp is being used?
Oh to be in that room with you! ,
One of my members was in the room with me 🤠
@@AudiophileJunkie Jealous! Me! 😉
Best wishes from Scotland.

@@AudiophileJunkie just watched the other video, well done Sir! 👌
@@AudiophileJunkie now I know exactly how big my bald spot is.
wow thats crazy good world class just keeps getting "cheaper" by the day which is good for a poverty case like me lol
Great demo! What are the ”clouds” called?
I don't know the brand but they are actually referred to as "cloud" treatments by many vendors.
Audiophile Junkie,
Can you give your impressions on how similarities between these 888 and the Dali's?
Thanks,
Ron
Hard to say exactly because different environments and I wasn't choosing the songs or volume.
However, both struck me as speakers almost anyone would be happy with even with budgets far higher. Both sound much better than more expensive speakers.
The Dali drivers are a bit sexier looking, but the front baffle of the Sourcepoint 888 is nicely angled to prevent diffraction and super thick... Plus it has 3 chambers inside that cabinet which is unusual for this price point.
You can't go wrong with either, IMO.
impressive! What are the electronics?
See replies to other comments on this video or part 2. It was a Classe Amp and Alchemy DAC/Pre
What is Andrew using for amplification for the 888s?
It's usually a MoFi distributed product like the BAT amps or HiFi Rose. However he's got a museum of gear and was using Alchemy DDP2 DAC/Pre, with Classé 400W monoblocks.
@@AudiophileJunkieThere’s a VTL stereo tube amp in-between the Classè monoblocks (?)
Is that a matching sub off to the left there?
Looks like the sourcepoint 10
Correct
there is no sub
Impressive. But how much do you lose with price matching gear?
They use it routinely with HiFi Rose gear which is considered matching gear in terms of price.
@@AudiophileJunkie I saw that at one of the audio shows. That would be a good price point
What was that song with that 30hz bass notes? Not ratchets
Graffiti Jazz Number 3
David Chesky
Manufacturer of white wavey sound absorption material hanging from ceiling?
Don't know but many make them...I would search "cloud room treatments" for a variety of options.
I’ll never understand how watching a RUclips video, or any recording for that matter , of another system can judge the fidelity level since the playback is only as good as the system you own. Unbelievable. Not to mention the ridiculous music that is used for demo purposes. Put on an 80’s CD of Heavy Metal if you want a real world experience of what a speaker is capable of.
It's true that RUclips is no substitute for a live audition. However, I use the same recording method with each video, so if you're comparing sound in each of my videos, you can hear certain things that stand out even through RUclips.
I was there and heard it live, so I should know what can and can't be discerned from the recording. That being said... If you're using cheap earbuds or speakers to play RUclips (which most do), then I agree it's not very helpful.
I'm using Stax x9000 intoa Blue Hawaii headamp for reference listening... When I switch to playing RUclips in my car or earbuds at the gym, it's drastically different.
@@AudiophileJunkie nevertheless, it doesn’t matter. What your recording with isn’t comparable to the source material that your demo was recorded with and regardless of playback and DAC the broadcast speed it barely FM, though not even as compressed. I’m not picking on you, I just cringe when I read comments about how good or bad a system sounds based on a RUclips review. I felt compelled to voice my observation of the overall absurdity……nothing personal. Oh, I am qualified BTW…. Adieu
