"Take on me", "She's got a girlfriend now", "brown eyed girl", Beer, and "You don't know" are my favourites by them.
Don't forget "drunk again" and "average man".
"Don't start a band" is a good one
Everyone else is an asshole
Reel Big Fish is the most fun live band I have ever seen. You can't go wrong with any of their songs.
Seen em live 3 times! I threw weed at the trombonist last time 🤣
Ivenn bb only seen them twice, once back in like 2006ish and again in 2019, same energy, same vibe and just a great time each time.
I always took this a jab at "fans" that stop being fans of bands after signing a deal. In the 90's it was a common thing for people to complain about bands like Green Day and The Offspring "selling out". People felt like the bands wouldn't be able to make the music they really wanted since they had to appeal to the mainstream. It's the whole "I liked them before they were cool" mentality.
I'm so excited for this one! I love this entire album! I'm so glad to see this one on channel. The entire "Turn The Radio Off" album is amazing. I think you would really love it!
This band is still playing these days, and still amazing!
This👆
I requested it. There's another one i requested that's on the way as well
@@snakeandnape9252 Cool!
Turn the Radio Off is an amazing album, and the production still sounds AMAZING.
Great live preformance. They have a amazing cover of "take me on"
Ska music takes me back to that mid to late 90s to early 2000s care free college life! Saw Reel Big Fish several times in concert, with The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Less Than Jake for the majority of those, two simarly excellent bands as well. Sublime, No Doubt, and Buck-O-Nine are some other good bands from that genre.
Reel Big Fishes "Somebody Hates Me" is a song I don't see many people mention but it's my personal favorite. It's such an upbeat song about having haters. If you liked this you could also check out Less Than Jake's "The Science of Selling Yourself Short".
Reel big Fish has so many hits of that one album. Beer, She Has A Girlfriend Now, Skatanic... so good!
PLEASE do their song “Another F.U. Song. It’s great.
F Livin F dyin F laughing F crying F this song but mostly F you!!!! 😂 one of my faves!
I introduced my kids to Reel Big Fish and they loved them. They asked Alexa to put them on... I was just singing along and dancing and it took me far too long to realise that Another FU Song was playing. They thought it was HILARIOUS 😂
Reel Big Fish is always a good time.
I grew up on Ska. Love this band!
Beer by Reel Big Fish anyone?
Also, if anyone out there isn’t in a better mood after listening to ska, I don’t know what to tell ya.
It’s the ultimate feel good
Playlist song for me. Great energy and fun band.
Excellent band! They always did energetic shows & the crowds had fan.
ska always transports me to my highschool days. LET'S GO SKANKIN"!!!
2:19 95% of Reel Big Fish's catalogue is precisely like this. They are one the most energetic and fun bands out there, and the audience participation throughout every time I have seen them have been super wholesome. Everybody needs more RBF in their lives.
Totally agree with you Boyd 😊 it's a give and take thing, a partnership, you give them what they want and in turn they let you do what you want, it all balances out, it's the way it is, it's ok if you can work together as a team and both parties get what they want; but if it's all one way, either way, there is always a loser, so if you sellout and don't get to do what you want; then that is awful; so are you really saling out if both parties get what they want; or is it just a beneficial business transaction 😊 I have noticed that when it's a beneficial business transaction; that something good always comes out from it; that brings happiness for all 😊 fun song, made me happy 😊
Another amazing band is Streetlight Manifesto, and my favorite song is better place, better time.
Personally, I prefer Catch 22, but Streetlight is great too....There's just something to hearing/knowing Catch 22 before Streetlight was formed...I liked the less produced sound that Catch 22 had.
@@bluepunk182 well you've intrigued me now, I have not heard catch 22 that I am aware of
@@halosandheroesCatch 22 was Streetlight before Streetlight formed...Toh Kay started both bands, and Streetlight "covered" a lot of the Catch 22 songs...if not all of them.
I’ve literally seen 100’s of shows live, and theirs was the most fun. There was a huge circle pit that didn’t stop between songs. It was amazing.
Beer by RBF. my favorite song
Oh hell yeah man, I love you’re doing some Reel Big Fish reactions now.
Nice! Love Reel Big Fish!
Can't believe you hadn't heard this! Amazing song!
My daughter's first punk/ska show was Reel Big Fish, Bowling For Soup and Nerf Herder. Was great to have her witness RBF live!
Haven't seen your vids in a while but you ended up in my recommendations with this one. Reel Big Fish is one of my all time favorites. Commenting before watching to let you know I'm excited to see what you think!! Cheers.
If you enjoyed the brass instruments, the energy, and this style of music, you should look more into this very genre of music: ska!
Other than Reel Big Fish, you could check out artists like Less than Jake or Streetlight Manifesto.
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are another one and are my personal favorite. "The Impression That I Get" is a classic that I highly recommend to you!
Love this song
Played it in high school and college pep band. Always a jam
they had my favorite song on disney's skate adventure... hell yeah
I LOVE Reel Big Fish!
Reel Big Fish was a great band. Scott Klopfenstien was a member of the band and he has a newer group called Littlest Man Band. They are great too. The rerelease of Reel Big Fish's Average Man was a lot of fun
I always hoped this reaction would happen… so happy right now.
A majority of their music is just like this! Its big band, swing music. It's amazing, they're amazing, you're amazing!
Ska 😉
@steffenml my mind wasn't working this morning lol
This was released mid 90s I wanna say 96. Another band in a similar style to check would be The Slackers. They are awesome and have a little reggae sound mixed in.
So, in the 90's when grunge and punk was hitting the mainstream with bands like Nirvana and Green Day, third wave ska was making a resurgence. Reel Big Fish signed to the same label as Brittney Spears, and they wrote lots of songs about their problems with record labels.
Love Reel big fish
I'm glad you did a live version they are great live
They have so many great songs like
Everything sucks
Trendy
All i want is more
Everyone else is an asshole
Hiding in my headphones
Party down
Where have you been ?
You're guts i hate them
And many more
Along with their many great covers
Like Take on me
Nothing but a good time
kiss me deadly
& Monkey man
BEER!
A few other great songs off this album: She Has A Girlfriend Now, Beer, and Alternative, Baby. Also check out Thank You For Not Moshing, She's Famous Now, The Kids Don't Like It, and Good Thing.
I've been a fan of theirs since their first album came out when I was in high school, and gotten every album since. There really isn't another band quite like them. There's other ska bands that sound similar, but they're the master of music that can only be described as "a smile and a middle finger". Their two major themes across the years are "Boy, that relationship sucked huh" and "The business side of music sucks, huh". They even have a song that sounds like the first one, Valerie, about the worst woman they've ever met, but it turns out it's actually about the second one, because the song wasn't written about a former girlfriend but a record exec they knew. Check out "Down in Flames" and "The Kids Don't Like It", my two personal favorites.
The bass player Derek Gibbs is my Nephew.
FINALLY SOME SKA. RBF is life. "Where have you been"
Reel Big Fish summed up their musical style perfectly with the title of their album "Life Sucks, Let's Dance". It now how I describe them to everyone.
"The radio plays what they want you to hear"
Their music is like this most of the time 😂
My favorite band...LOVE them....They're great live too.
Reel Big Fish did not Sell out, though they could have! Aaron's manager at the end of the 90s/early 2000s wanted him to stop playing his genre of music of Ska, told him to play more Pop music and take away the horns. Aaron refused to do this, and in fact thought it was so insulting he actually put it on the album the very phone call that told him to change his music. He did not change his music, he kept true to Ska and continued playing it until the pandemic hit. They haven't really toured since but they haven't officially broken up either, so kind of hiatus hopefully? But could be the final parting of them too.
Sooooo good 😮
Somebody PLEASE send him "Don't Start a Band"
radio plays what they want you to hear
This album was for baseketball matt stone and trey parker
The majority of their music is actually just like this
Great song! Forgotten.
Oh no. Its ALL like this! 😀
You should check out a band “thank you scientist” if you like brass and rock. This band is a cross between rock and big band. It’s good stuff
Last thing here, Aaron is a very sarcastic guy. He says a lot of stuff he doesn't mean, or says things in a very ironic way.
Reel big fish is a great band. Check out skatanic, or beer.
Oh to see them and Me First and the Gimmie Gimmie's, dreams
💚💚💚💚💚
Ska music is just fun
Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger is a good 90s goofy song, if not the best.
Please get bk to bring me the horizon. You will like all their other sound for sure.
Follow you
Doomed live at the royal Albert hall
In the dark
Nihilist blues
1x1
Shadow Moses
All totally different sounds from melodic to heavy. And very powerful
I will add my voice to the chorus. Please do more SKA-PUNK! RBF is amazing, all of the recs in the comments are solid. I always turn up to skank!
Need to listen to Beer by Mustard Plug.
listen to more :P
She Has A Girlfriend Now is another RBF example of SKA.
chumbawamba huge sellouts
Beer
i dont know but "never had to knck on wood?"
Cant have a bad time at a SKA concert.
if you haven't checked out 311 that would be a boon.
Investigate 311!
The funny part is that this is actually how they sold out
He was trying so hard not to laugh at them
Well well, if it isn't Darren Barrett.
For a laugh, another f u song
Sometimes you just gotta skank
Be honest with me. Are you A.I.? Do you exist?
