  • The design of the dials really does work well to prevent decoding in the traditional ways. But we can not overlook the obvious weaknesses this cable system has. Personally I would NOT lock anything with this lock.
    Use common sense and secure your items if you want to keep them.

    Very interesting explanation of the dial lock Big Al, goes to show even with a safe guarded lock mechanism, still have to cover the basics of physical security! Take care buddy, great video 👍

      Thanks. Ya, I actually had to disassemble it to understand it better. I'd sure love to see LPL give one a go. I'm curious if he could find a way to decode one built like this. I just don't see it.

    Should’ve cut the ends off lock and sent it to him as a challenge. Good review. 👏👏👏😎

    Well, I guess this video cost you $15! I'm glad you did it so we wouldn't have to. Really too bad. The combo looks like it had a lot of thought put into it and yet the rest of the lock is crap. Thanks Al

    I wish you would have disassembled it to show us the internal locking mechanism and why it couldn't be decoded.

      @@AlbertLebel Exactly! I actually just started a padlock weather test. Sacrificed 13 of my padlocks to sit outside in the weather for a year. Money well spent 😆

    Nice demonstration, wasn't expecting the code wheel rail gate to be made of plastic and snap so easily. That cable can be cut so easily they should be against consumer law to sell these as a form of security. In your description you say "Personally I would lock anything with this lock." is this a mis spelling considering what you just did to this lock. Thanks for this demonstration, cheers

    This good short time outside lock right? I want this because lightweight.

    • @AlbertLebel
      @AlbertLebel  6 месяцев назад +2

      I highly recommend you don’t leave it unattended for too long tho. If it’s weight you’re concerned with maybe consider getting something like a large U-lock because most come with a clamp attachment that holds it on the bike frame. Cables are just way too easy to cut. Just something to think about. But the biggest thing is keeping an eye on it. Don’t be an easy target for scumbags. Hope this helps.

      Yea sure i generaly hikebiking and i dont go too far from my bike. I quess better than nothing. I cant carry big chain or U locks becouse they are too heavy.@@AlbertLebel I secure my bike indoor at night.

    • @AlbertLebel
      @AlbertLebel  6 месяцев назад +1

      @hasanuguz6868 yes, absolutely better than nothing. Plus I seriously doubt many scumbag thieves would be out there. So now I understand the reason for a super lightweight lock. For times when carry the bike while also having a backpack on. That bikehiking sounds fun.

      Yea and mostly i climb so weight realy matter for me. I climb mountains, stop whenever i saw good spot to explore and search for some mushrooms :D Yea %99 there will be no thieves but because i have to park my bike to sideway someone could try to steal it. But mostly i carry my bike to the woods with me when i stop. I found this model 8$ so easy pick for me because how light it is..@@AlbertLebel

    What a shame for a half decent lock to be let down by some silly flaws in manufacturing, I was really surprised how easy that shoulder just snapped like that though, cheap alloy used rather than a piece of steel, still a great video nonetheless though ;-)

    • @AlbertLebel
      @AlbertLebel  2 года назад +1

      Yes, if that was steel it would be a bit harder but that spot is very thin. I just didn't realize it would snap that easy. I bet it could be done without the tools.
