Kantha bani motiyan ki mala.. That is how Pandit Ji given voice to this raga.. Brilliant!!! At times he resembles late Bharat Ratna pandit Bhimsen Joshi ji but his own imagination of the raga and the improvisations far surpasses any such influence. I return every time to listen to the rendition. Even though i hear this Vandeesh in my childhood but Pandit ji added so much soul to it. Kedar and Kamod both are my favourite ragas although nowadays sung very rarely. We need more vocalists like Pandit ji to present pure classical music at current times to the masses. Pranam.
After about two decades I have landed upon such a such a lovely voice and a rendition style of just my liking , I developed over the years. I earnestly pray god for his blessings.

Once in a concert at Chowdiah Memorial hall I requested Panditji to sing Raag Hamir and he sang that. Was completely mesmerizing. "Mata bhavani kaali.." is another outstanding rendition of Pandit Venkatesh Kumar in Raag Durga. Try not to miss his program whenever it happens in Bangalore
