- Pt. Venkatesh Kumar's performance of Raag Vrindavani Sarang at the FEA-curated morning concert Prabhati, covered the entire range of emotions,from plaintive to playful, full of energy and joy. Bharat Kamat on tabla and Ajay Joglekar on harmonium accompanied Panditji with equal measures of enthusiasm and skill. Tanpura and vocal accompaniment were given by Shivraj Patil and Ramesh Kolkunda. It was plain to see everybody genuinely enjoying themselves on this rendition.
Swami haridas ji created this raag and Krishna ji comes to earth to hear this raag or Bhajan of haridas ji....🙏 What a beautiful raag...
I feel pity for those 150 people who disliked this video ....
Our generation is witnessing this Legend since a decade now. I had the utmost privilege to touch his feet when he came to perform in Kolkata 🙏

Exactly! Unimaginable to me how someone could dislike this exquisite performance. All I can think is that these are people who have no understanding of Indian classical khyal singing. They are missing a great treasure.

Raag Vridavanni Sarang which is sung here is the basic Raag of different types Sarang raags. Sarangs in general are though to evoke a Playful, Romantic, Happy and an appreciative mood.
So if one has felt good or happy listening to this performance, it could be said you have rightly taken that first step in connecting to this raaga.

@@vijayupadhye2712 they are all in major. Actually the arrangement was in sharp notes, I thought instead to tivra ma etc I can shift it into major notes (I am inexperienced in indian music theory)
@@vijayupadhye2712 I use score sheets to play piano and I am completely new to Indian Music. A musician performed this song in sliding guitar, and I loved it, I long to listen it again. He called it a Midday Raga if I remember right.
@@me.unpredictable280 yes it's vrundavani sarang and is performed at around 12 noon. Also in this raga ga and dhaiwat r absent and both the nishad r used. Hence the notation that you have referred to may be pertaining to some other raga or atleast I tried my best to recognise the song by doing various permutation and combination but couldn't recognise it. Thanks
