    I used to work there and made the soups and sauces daily for over 5 years. This recipe is mostly right on and the most accurate I've found on YT. The only difference I see between this and OG is the Olive Garden recipe calls for garlic puree, they use a chicken base to make a broth and after boiling the potatoes they say to use a potato masher to break up the potatoes before adding the sausage back to the pot.

      As a current employee of Olive Garden I agree to this statement

    • @cb9018
      @cb9018 Год назад +3

      So instead of adding in the fresh garlic with the onions you substitute it with garlic purée?
      And once the half moon potatoes have boiled in the broth you take a potato masher to them?

    • @TruthHurts2u
      @TruthHurts2u Год назад +4

      @@cb9018 Just to break the potatoes up you don't want to mash or pulverize them. Then you add the sausage, kale and cream.
      Yes, that's the "official" way according OG's recipe. If you ask me, fresh is probably going to be better with the right amount but the puree is easier so choose what works for you.

    I followed your directions and this soup was off the chain. Very simple and to the point and I'm going to make this more often. It also goes along way. I fixed why my mom, dad, sister, and her kids went to my nephews track meet and this house smells like a professional restaurant. I fixed the garlic bread sticks as well. I guess it's good when u didn't even get to get a second bowl out of a huge pot because that means it's good. Glad I could satisfy somebody else's appetite besides mines.

    I made this today for my wife. Zuppa Toscana is her favorite thing on the menu at Olive Garden and she was of course not sure a novice chef such as myself could replicate the recipe. But she LOVED IT. The only thing I did differently was brown the sausage in a separate pan and started with the bacon and onions in the big pot which saved a little cook time. Other than that, follow this recipe and you'll have some perfect Zuppa.
    Also the third song... I kept singing "Sixth Avenue Heartache" along with it which made the cooking fun!

    I made this and It came out sooooo good. My boyfriend keeps asking me to make it again, so I'll be making it this weekend. It's so simple to make and it's very filling.
    Thanks so much for the receipe.

    I made this TONIGHT and it was a home run!!! It was enjoyed by my husband, 6 and 9 years olds, a millennial nephew and my mom. I didn't even need the grated parmesan cheese that I usually have Olive Garden go super heavy in my soup.
    I made this before but someone else's recipe and it was 90% however something was missing. This time it tasted as if we bought it from Olive Garden.

    Made the keto version used spicy turkey sausage and used Chayote squash instead of the potato; it tastes JUST LIKE a potato!! Family loved it! I had leftovers but didn’t follow the extra step and it still was delicious! Thank you!!!!!

    Made this today. Just like Olive Garden...only better because OG's is more waterish. I also added 2 small stalks of celery thinly sliced. Thanks!

    This was perfect, made the mistake of putting sausage and bacon back at the same time... Made the sausage chunks hard and too many onions but husband still loved it!!! So I'll make it again the right way. Thank you for this fan of mine, flavor EXACTLY like the soup I prefer each time... On to the bread sticks and Alfredo!

    I’ve ordered this soup many times from Olive Garden and am late to the fair as far as making it myself.
    I recommend Hot Italian Sausage for those liking a bit of heat. Or the red pepper flakes…
    This is a recipe that begs for leftovers so add the cream and kale batch-by-batch, as recommended by the author.
