I'm watching an old video,of yours around your 10th anniversary, and I want you to know ,you taught how to crochet!!! Don't worry about what other people say. I taught prek for 30yrs, and the first thing that we would teach our children was, "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything". You are wonderful!!! stay true to you!!! Peggy
I really loved this stitch and pattern… I do so love to find something new. I’m 78 years old and been crocheting all my life… but just realised watching RUclips that I know hardly anything at all .. wonderful ❣️the adventures start anew 😍xxx
Great idea! No gaps is perfect for “temporarily bald” folks (I was one, 19 years ago), and soft cotton would make a great fabric for chemo-sensitive skin. Awesome.
The linked dc is one of my favorite stitches when I don't want the wind coming through, or don't want loose spaces - like in a market bag where I'll do a round of a pretty stitch, then a round of the linked dc. Thanks for the tip for ease of working the spiral. This hat looks wonderful!
I made this hat this morning in Joann’s Big Twist Value, in Forest Green. It felt like a miracle. Thank you, Bag-O-Day! You are a brilliant teacher and a crochet genius.
Hi Crystal! I am a knitter for years but after I found your channel I crocheted beanies, shawls and love crochet! Your beanies taught me increasing and different stitches. Thank you so much. Your tutorials are awesome!!
Very glad I found you! I worked with you on many projects a long time ago. I'm a slow crocheter not because I'm actually a slow crater; I review the projects over and over again until I feel secure enough begin. Many of the projects I began with you instructions were baby sweater and dresses, I believe it was when you were expecting your daughter not really certain, but it was during 2010 -2012. The projects were beautiful, my 2 nieces were both pregnant at the time. The project were for boy and girl babies. After the projects were complete and the babies visited their pediatricians wearing their outfits, the compliments was so kind. The babies are now 8/9 years old and both still have the baby sweaters, pants, dresses and matching blankets that I made. Of course they can't wear the outfits but the pictures are so lovely. Thank you again for your , patience and help.
I don’t like crocheting in rounds but I bravely jumped in. I didn’t like the stitch! It took a minute for me to get a rhythm. Finished project, beautiful! 😊 Thanks for sharing.
I don't think I'm ever going to have to refresh my memory for the linked double stitch again... I'm gonna remember the middle-man FOREVER! I love it! Thank you Crystal! I can't wait to make this hat when I finish my current blanket. 🧶❤️⚓️
Crystal that link dc is so Pretty I love it you are a Amazing person 😊you have so much patience thank you so very much for sharing your tutorials with us that’s my next project I’m working with Juan the crochet addict on the winter cal blanket right now 😊thank you so very much for telling us about him he is so funny with all the things lol 😁😁😁I’m learning so much from him 😊
Crystal. You have me already making this hat with you, and planning the colors of the deep chevron blanket. I’m loving this hat, love this stitch!!! Thank you for your incredible talent and teaching us so perfectly. I have crocheted for 50 years, and never used this stitch. I love it! You made my day today!! ❤
Sweet Crystal, I cannot thank you enough. I have learned so many lovely stitches from watching your RUclips channel. Your teaching style is absolutely spot on!
This is my second time watching this tutorial and I'm crocheting along with you. I'm finding that there is a cadence to this stitch that is soothing, almost hypnotic. I'm enjoying it so much! I thought the middle man stitch would be hard to enter, but it's not. Such an easy, rhythmic stitch. Thank you for sharing it with us, Crystal.
Very nice beanie! I have been crocheting for years and did not know about the link double crochet and link half double crochet! Thanks to you, I learned something new! I am making that beanie right now using Red Heard Super Saver Ombre in Violet. Great video! Thank you for the clear instructions!!! God bless!
You are so encouraging and when you say “you can do this, I know you can do this” i smile and feel like I can do this and anything I have tried from your tutorials I have been able to do! Thank you so much!!!❤❤
Great pattern and video. I'm more of a knitter, but your instructions are so clear, and the pattern is so easy, that from yesterday to today I completed the crown increases.! I should have the hat finished by the weekend !
This has become my favorite stitch. So far, i have made 6 hats and i am attempting a polo dress with this stitch. Hoping this will eliminate the need for a slip or lining. Thank You Crystal!!
Thank you very much for sharing your talent with us. I just finished making this beanie for my husband and we both love it. I'll be using this stitch to make a matching scarf for him too. You're a great teacher. Thanks!!
Hi Crystal. Love your tutorials. ❤ There is too much negatively in the world 🌎, Negative people needs to keep their opinions to themselves. If you can't say anything nice, then don't say anything at all. Like the cartoon character said. Just keep doing, what you are doing.
hiya crystal! this is quite unique. i see placemats and hot pads (both in cotton, of course) in my future. i really like this ~ thanks for sharing with us. xoxo from colorado
Been watching your tutorials for years. You are an awesome instructor. I've made many of your patterns. Thank you for posting your patterns and showing us all how to make them!
Oh I like this, looks nice and warm. I crocheted many of your hats this season and my daughter passes them out to the homeless as she along with others make a warm meal on Sundays and serve them, right in the parking lot, many are without homes and their clothing is wet so always in need of new ones.😢
I've never heard of this stitch. Did you create it? You are incredible! Great teacher! I've been having fun playing with the modified double-triple stitch you showed us the other day; I love the look of it.❤❤
Ha HA! Love it! I'd heard of the linked double and my husband has a habit of stretching out his Crochet items I make for him and complains of the wind blowing through it, he's a gardener. So I started linking my DC's and THEN looked up the tutorial to see if I was doing it right. Some people link it through the last leg of the last stitch and some do it through the middle bar like you. Turns out I was doing both, but HEY it works and it makes a real nice thick fabric which looks pretty much the same as yours so that's a win 👍 for me!! for some nice warm sweaters!! 😊😁❤
Welllll, seeing as how I have to wait for my MM order (Deep Chevron + a BUNCH more stash skeins) I can whip out several of these "No Gap Gems"! ❤ this for sure! 👍as always Crystal & Than k You!
I don't know how I missed this tutorial 5 months ago, but I'm glad I saw it now! I'm sorry, but I will never remember this as a "linked double crochet". It will forever be the "middleman" stitch for me! 😂 Thank you, Crystal... this stitch is perfect for my baby onesies (and hats!)!! 💜
Just when I think “oh I can’t do that”, here comes Crystal And she proves me wrong!! Calling it the middle man is priceless. Thank you for reaching me something new yet a6❤
It was a rough start, some ripping out ensued, forgot where I was at multiple times, but in the end it came out nicely. Now that I survived the first one. I'm going to make another one because I finally figured out what I'm doing! Yay me! Thank you, Crystal! 💕💕💕
Thank you so much, Crystal for all your tutorials in crocheting! I have made many of your patterns and the instructions are always so clear and helpful that I am able to be successful in making so many things for friends and family. Now I have friends coming to me for help and I always refer them to your page. You are the best!
Definitely making this for myself! As much as I loved the linked double in your recent tutorial, this stitch done in the round just sings to my little yarny heart. 💜🥰
Hi Crystal! I'm making a pair of these this weekend for my daughter and I! Have been searching with her for hourssssssss (lol 😂) and this is what she picked 😊
Yay! I've wanted forever to use that stitch to make your Easy Crochet Cardigan Sweater For Man Or Woman for my son-in-law (a pattern from 5 years ago, your husband is modeling it in the thumbnail) Unfortunately, the yarn I wanted to use was a purple tweed from Hobby Lobby and they never had it in stock... And when they did I wasn't in the position to purchase it... Maybe someday soon and I can make him a matching hat using the same stitch ☺️
Your videos are the only hats I make now. I donate over 50 a year to Veterans & cancer center.
How generous of you! That is a great idea! I will look for similar donations to make in my area.
I'm watching an old video,of yours around your 10th anniversary, and I want you to know ,you taught how to crochet!!! Don't worry about what other people say. You're 78 years YOUNG my dear 🥰🤗
I can make a bunch of these in soft cotton to donate for cancer patients undergoing chemo! It is the perfect pattern. Thank you Crystal. 🥰
Great idea! No gaps is perfect for “temporarily bald” folks (I was one, 19 years ago), and soft cotton would make a great fabric for chemo-sensitive skin. Awesome.
I just saw this today as I was looking for chemo hat for men.
Great pattern

Middle man is a perfect way to describe it. Makes perfect sense to me. 😊Thank you for teaching all of us this stitch. ❤

Seamless and no gappies! I am chuckling😂 every time you say middle man. 😂there is always a middle man . Thanks Mrs BOD❤
I love how you use #4 yarn and a 6 mm hook on most projects. I can always pick up and do one of your quick projects on a whim.❤
I don’t like crocheting in rounds but I bravely jumped in. I didn’t like the stitch! It took a minute for me to get a rhythm. Finished project, beautiful! 😊 Thanks for sharing.
What a cool stitch! I'm putting my WIP aside for a break and making a hat!

I love how you teach and dont rush. I somehow landed with 65 stitches instead of 60
This is fantastic. I never made hats because there was always holes that the wind/cold would get thru.
This stitch is so pretty. I really like it. Thanks Crystal ⚘️❤️
Definitely making this for myself! As much as I loved the linked double in your recent tutorial, this stitch done in the round just sings to my little yarny heart. 💜🥰
