It's very easy to get video from Florida because of their sunshine law, so we see more from Florida than most other states... Which On Patrol Live and you'll see this every week in multiple states.

First video: the cops had civilians do their work for them? Why would cops allow civilians to put themselves in danger under their watch?
The civilians were already wearing swim gear. The cops were all wearing full uniforms, boots, carrying tasers, radios, guns, and perhaps wearing heavy kevlar vests. Basically they would had to have taken all their gear off and put it safely in a vehicle or something, or they could just allow the other guys who were already swimming grab him and drag him out.
The guy was naked, cops had thousands of dollars worth of equipment on them, the cops had probably just gotten there and were figuring out what to do. I don't think the criminal was a threat

One thing I'll say for Florida - they make it a point to honor the Sunshine Law. I appreciate that as much as I respect it. It says a lot about the local government. Messed up as they are, at least they're willing to be accountable.
