Just FYI, the ground wire should be the last one off and first one on when replacing any electrical. Great job in DIYing that. The first electrical project is always the most nerve-wracking; I started with a light switch and have now done light fixtures - saves so much money for easy fixes!
Eventually I’m going to try the light fixture in the dining room, and the ceiling fan in the playroom.

The cabinet looks a lot better because it blends very well with the rattan mirror! Perfect match. Definitely a round rug works and looks better under a round table. Just little rearranging make a space and me feel refreshed

If your playroom is extra warm in the summer months, the trick is to keep blinds or drapes closed to keep the light and heat out. It’s also very homey and looks moody!

Great job changing the outlet Megan! Omg I have to say the mirror in the dining room looks stunning like that’s where it’s meant to be! The new cabinet that used to be in the coffee bar looks amazing in the family room another hit 👌🏻! IMO I would either leave the current coffee station with the blank wall it’s always nice to have some blank walls around the house and it still wouldn’t look too empty because of the accent trims, or some shelves above the coffee station would look great too! Still looking forward to the back patio refresh hope it’s coming soon 😉😁
We don’t want to put shelves, but Derek did move the mirror back over there lol. I think I might try to get some wall art for that space

Megan, could you have washed your old round rug from under the kitchen table? I LOVED the colors in it & it complimented the dining area so well, & would do so even more now with the mirror near the table! 😊

I didn’t notice it in your video but you are supposed to tighten the screws on the sides of the outlets. They hold the wires in tight. If you did, you rock!!!!

When my daughter was 2 1/2-3, she stuck a fork into an outlet. It tripped the breaker for the whole house. She also got a little shock which scared me, and terrified her. Never messed with outlets again. When I moved into my house I realized 2 outlets in my bedroom weren’t working. I decided to try and change them to see if that’s all that was wrong. $1.50 later, I had 2 working outlets, and saved $100+ on an electrician. All I did is read the directions on the little cardboard wrap that came on the replacement parts. Also, I liked the rectangle run better, too. The colors were nice, and calming. Did you consider turning the rug the other way?
No, I didn’t try it the other way, but now I’m thinking that I should have 😅

I miss your 4 framed Disney prints you had hanging in your dining area. The 4 frames mimicked the 4 dining chairs and if I remember, they had black frames to bring in the contrast you’re looking for.
On another note, you go girl for switching out that outlet!
They had wood frames, not black. 😊 I’ve relocated those to the playroom. They were getting knocked off the wall too frequently being right next to the pantry.
If you're going to work with electric outlets and so forth, you might want to treat yourself to a voltage tester. It is good to have to ensure beyond a shadow of a doubt that you have turned off the breaker before you begin work. My dad learned the hard way that breakers can be mislabeled. The jolt threw him off of the ladder he was standing on and melted a dent in the screwdriver he was holding. He was okay, but it was a close call!

In your kitchen, for your coffee bar, you need a hutch on top of the bottom piece, or a whole kitchen buffet, it would be more kitchen oriented and more storage
We’ve thought about that, but a hutch doesn’t leave space for the coffee maker lol

Ugh fire!!! Our grill and propane tank blew last night while my husband was cooking burgers. Fully engulfed so the fire department came to put it out. I was worried that because the fire was so big, it was going to catch our covered back deck on fire. One of the posts is burnt kinda bad but not so that it degrades the post. Just looks scary.
