Howdy, Deano- Ever since I saw these models, I wanted them. At first, price put me off, but once I retired and had my bonus, I ordered one. Now, I finally have it!
Hiya Anthony I'm glad you did this first impressions.. Just simply stunning set. I wish I had ordered the 4th car. I need to get a decoder with more functionality.. But to get it going the decoder that's in is good enough. This was well worth the wait. Enjoyed watching yours doing the circuit. Happy new year to you and Joyce Take care for now😊
Happy New Year, Mark! Yours looks just as good! They were expensive, and worse, the 3-car and expansion set came in at the same time... so, yikes. In fact, that is why I did not order the original set (released earlier this year) because it was so expensive at the time. I ordered the final set here only because my retirement bonus let me do it. Glad I did!
I did have a little laugh at your expense... You may have to change your title too The Brawa Outsider...lol Just a funny thought that came to me whilst watching 😊
@@modelrailwayfantasia Hmmmm... the BRAWA Outsider. Maybe a second channel! It doesn't flow alliteratively, thought. The Brawa Bozo... works better. lol
Hi Anthony and Joyce. Wow beautiful model. Do love the passenger double deckers. Think you have your work cut out if you're going to add passengers, a lot of little people.😁 Thanks for showing us Anthony. You all have a fantastic new year. Pete.🍾🍾
Hello and Happy New Year, Tim, my friend! It is interesting, as it is still a basic Regio, but it is so sharp. There will be an ICE2 version (in white), but no models of it yet!
It is a dangerous rabbit hole, but I am doing the same... I have Central European, but have some UK stock and looking for the right Märklin (or even MTH) 3-Rail USA stock.
Model looks good on your layout. These double dockers have something about them which seems to make me like them. Think I'm right in saying the Southern Region in BR Days experimented with double decker carriges back in the day. Sadly it never took off and they were all scrapped. Cheers Euan
Hello, Euan! I have seen UK double-decker models, so I think you must be right. I think the height of UK tunnels and bridges made them prohibitive to do. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Looks like a nice model Anthony. I was pleased to know you have bought one. I also am awaiting delivery of this same train, also with the extra carriage. I also have the Roco Hobbytrade five car double deckers in the regiobahn livery. The only thing that occurred to me was how much the same both trains look, but the driver cab is slightly different. Seems like my order was so long ago maybe it was 2021.
Hello, David! From my understanding, and what others are posting, these are all based on older DB Regio Dosto from Bombardier, just upgraded. I saw them for the first time live in 2019, but up close and rode one this year (2023). I loved Hobby Trade models, and my 5-car Regio is fantastic and the lighting has always stood out to me. The same with these BRAWA. I think Brawa announced this series (there are 3 versions) in late 2020. I know they were out for a while and the first two versions were sold out when I finally decided to order these. One series hit the shelves last month, and this one just arrived with the DC (analog) and DCCC (2-Rail Digital) versions. Thanks for watching!
Hello again Anthony, I have now recieved my Brawa Twindexx AC version the same as your model. When i initially put it on the track i managed to get it moving briefly. But later when i tried to get it going again I cant get it to read the decoder. I tried a few different things but i am not very tech competent. As you also are using a CS3, i was going to ask what was the procedure you used. I tried getting it to read address 3. Also I put in the locomotive card that came with it. Most of my other locos are Marklin which of course register automatically. When I first tried it I selected address 8.@@ModelTrainOutsider
I was about to pick up my set last week at my local shop, but asked them to returned it to BRAWA. There was a big problem with the upper body not really attaching to the lower body part. How'S your unit in that area? Otherwise a really nice model, I'm looking forward to picking mine up.
Mine came out of the box fine and running well. No couplers or body shell issues. Yet, my friend Mark had a coupler missing, and you now mention this shell issue. Very curious. Anyhow, thanks for the information and thanks for watching!

@ivo Thanks for the information. I was reading up on these before I did the video and it never referred to it as a locomotive. It said all you said, but called them "power cars" and once mentioned "control cab/Steuerwagen." It did keep referring to it as a "railcar" which I always interpret as separate from a locomotive and coach combo (like an ICE). Even Alex at Alex Anlage called it an EMU. lol It seems, a simple definition is if it has a motor in in, it is a loco, and if not, it is a control cab. Still learning all these nuances. I have not seen them in more than a 5-car consist. Usually 4. I may invest in an extra 44513, or I may leave it a 4-car consist.
