Cage has gotten me through some rough times
Same.
Same my dude. Hells Winter kept me alive
What do you think of his Sam Hill music?
Looks like he went straight demonic
ikr when that bag is weak you listen to his old shit and his better imagery helps get you there
Never understood that concept. How does depressing music get you out of depression. Typically it keeps you in it.
Cage is so damn underrated, it should be a crime.
He's not underrated , he had a crazy run, with a crazy buzz leading up to Movies, his smut peddlers jawn "porn again" got crazy reviews from real hip-hop cats. Of course he had the Eminem beef. In that era, when he wore the Yankees fitted, EC was the dopest underground label during this time. Eventually, he got away from EC then went to def jux, and dropped Hells Winter, another bonified classic. That album helped me with getting clean. Cage has touched so many lives , he should be very proud.
Only people who truly have their eyes open get depressed. Really glad I stumbled onto this.
how so ?
They have their eyes open but they don't understand what they are actually seeing.
Depressed people say stuff like this a lot. Including myself. I wonder how true it is though...
That's why they say ignorance is bliss
Not true...
"Hell's Winter" and "Depart From Me" are still some of my favorite music.
I love Cage dude so fortunate I got to talk with him like this in person ! Thanks for the awakening Cage
Cage being brutally honest but then again he always has been
Furthermore in recent years he admitted he was actually on Vicodin while filming this and he even recorded half of Hells Winter while on dust. Bleak but brutally honest.
Yo can tell he's on drugs by the skin tone immediately if you walked a similar left hand path..
Rare. Everything hes saying is real.
being as depressed as I am this is helpful shit. thanks wont compensate this . im lucky to be alive.
Just wow. The most honest I've ever seen Cage. Love you bro
Cage is just as gorgeous as always I love him in interviews. So real. I'm now like 10 months sober and continuing. 🖤
Cage: the rapper for the entrapped intellectual shaman
facts 😂
I relate to him more than anyone ive ever heard. Ive led a similar life. Im not at the end of the tunnel yet tho.
Hope you doing better than then...
I first hurd Chris palko like 12 years ago and he has been a huge inspiration and help in my life guiding me through some of the darkest times in my life "rite" "rite rite"
his words have meaning unlike a lot of other "rappers"-thank you cage
Honest interview ...respect . I got diagnosed borderline personality disorder after a lifetime of shit , it's murder. Love your music Cage hope ya doing good
The Realest, most timeless artist on the planet 🔥
Cage's music saved my life
Cage: "Never made a song like that again"
Also Cage: Makes concept album entirely themed on smoking pcp.
Tame and Cage made Waterworld probably before this happened. He stopped writing about PCP by the time Hell's winter came out
He definitely wrote 'Misanthrope' after this interview. That song was like my drug anthem back in the day. Also the many, many songs he wrote after that, which talked about drugs. I get it, though. This was Cage's "emo phase" during Depart From Me. He got a lot of shit for that album, so he went back to what his fans liked best... although he still kinda mixed his new style in with it. Even his latest Sam Hill albums are full of drug references and ultra-violent lyrics.
Nigga, you forget you wrote the leak bros album with tame one? I you might say you weren't glorifying drug use at that time and more writing down your experiences in an altered state. Honestly and it sucks to say, but that's was my favorite cage knowing the everlong struggle of knowing you can escape it all in a millisecond. Shit, em even wanted to be slim shady when you were actually truly living the mentally disturbed persona he glorified. You in OG in hip hop in my opinion, man. Don't let anyone ever tell ya differently. That shit let me know someone out there was going through a similar thought process as myself. You, Eyedea, Joe Budden and John Frusciante were the only ppl I've ever shared that experience of borderline insanity to most with, but you guys so gifted. I just had my first year clean off opiates in over decade and it's been the biggest weight off my shoulder that's ever been lifted. I know that real monster is me though as you said the drugs were never the real problem. Too many cop out to that in the new socially glorified rehabilitation phase of the journey. I hope you find or have found something worth dying for..
NEED MOVIES FOR THE BLIND 2!!!
jeeze, this got deep fast
I love this man too death. My hugest inspiration in music!!!
I've never fucking seen this
me either what the fuck
Cage is hands down the best.
I like how he changed his shit up.
Your ability to share and so clearly is why youre one of my top three artist of all time @cagewm please write a book
Love Cage!!
I relate to his music like he related to clockwork orange. My life was a fuckin horror flick and I wanted it to end ever since I was 7. Even tho the movies album kinda put me in a dark place, I still feel like there is someone with the same demon I struggle with. I saw a cage show on hells winter, and he asked the crowd if anyone is on x. Some people yelled and he replied: u r all fuckin slaves! Thats when I thought: he finally got it! Im glad he is a better person today, but I miss his old shit too.
Love u Chris!
Cage ur not the only one bro...I smoke pcp still I had went on a 10 year leak trip but I stopped and only fuck with it maybe 1nce every 4 months
Cage is dope
Ive also tried to kill myself 3 times. Depression and drugs go together.

This clip was from 2007, he did stop making music like that but then returned to it around 2012 for some reason.
