The thing i love most about Mumford is how true to themselves they have stayed- in this video they are four humble blokes playing music, not taking themselves too seriously or trying to please anybody, and now, with the success of Sigh no More under their belts & Babel very close on the horizon, they are still those four humble guys doing exactly the same thing :-)
just got back from Dixon, Illinois and their Gentlemen of the Road stopover. I have played this clip hundreds of times for the past 2 years and never get tired of it. they always remind me of the very early beatles here. And I just had to watch it again "to see how far they've come" (Dawes). They've come far but they seem to be true to their values and dedicated to music, not arrogant or obnoxious rock stars! Thank you Balcony TV for keeping this out here!
I love this... a band of actual musicians.. that write their own songs. Not being facetious but when I come across a band that does all those things that a band are meant to do.. I love it. When did musicianship for pop bands become about being "beautiful"? The beauty is in the music
Yes, it is one of our most watched videos in our archive! We've also got tons of new ones though haha, you can go to our website, or our channel! Thanks for watching! -Joanna, BTV
Ive just won tickets to see them with stephen fry at the itunes gig. I've never heard of them. Really looking forward to see them live. Go mumford and all of your lovely sons:)
That D-bag had no clue what this band was about to transition into. I still want to see his face so I can punch him in the face for acting like that, not knowing Mumford and Sons was going to blow up. I hate that guy!!!! And he hates himself too!!!
@@kbleary7927 wow bit harsh. Many people in that area of the world have a very depreciating sense of humour, including the Irish. It's no more than that.
i love that xylophone i love the accordian. and ben. god, how i love ben. and mumford and sons of course. marcus has the most incredible voice, it's so raw and so full of emotion. it's amazinnngggg
Jesus, I find it amazing how much more confident Marcus is these days. Funny thing, he didn't need the fans to become that way, could have all along, he's fucking awesome
Marcus was soooo shy back then! I mean he's still shy now but has definitely opened up some it seems. It's freakin adorable! I love how they can stand on a balcony and perform acoustic, having not even been together that long at the time this was filmed, and still sound absolutely amazing. Love them so much.
How adorable. To see them go from this... all shy... to the performance I saw in Chicago earlier this year. They've surely grown. I wish this song would be recorded for an album, though, I love it!
when I think about, how, in this big world of ours, a guy with a voice like that meets others guys who appreciate good music and gather around to literally make magic it really makes me glad I'm alive you don't take it for granted..least for the time being
I always see Marcus as being a lot older than he is, I think it's because I bought and fell in love with the album, before I saw what the band looked like properly. Over a year later, and I'm still constantly amazed with them!
To be honest, I wouldn't think that the lead singer would be the shyest one of the bunch. He shows so much emotion when he sings, and he's always playing multiple instruments at once.
I Love how you had them so long ago, They have grown so much and they are really mainstream. I've listened to them for awhile, About 3 maybe 4 years. Absolutely Lovely.
They don't want to be the name in the music hall of fame. They want to write songs that they enjoy singing, they do not want to change what they sing about to gain more fans. That is why they are fucking brilliant.
aaah he's so shy here! And much younger haha! I have been to their concert and it was like amazing! I'm really in love with all the guys + the songs + the instruments!
It is called "the banjolin song" =)! It was really great to have them on our Balcony, especially since they weren't really famous back then =p -Joanna, BTV
its so good...its awesome to think about the great things that have happened to these guys since then..truly great musicians!..cant wait to see them in dublin march 18th!!
"Excuse me while I switch from my Fisher-Price xylophone to my mandolin". LOVE LOVE LOVE!
not shy anymore!
SHY NO MORE 😊
@@abubardewa939 took me 4 years to get it lmao
His voice is particularly stunning in this version...STELLAR!!!
funkyblues10 It's a great throwback! Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
I love how shy Marcus is in this video - so sweet!
M&S has had so much success since this was recorded what a band!
This actually blew me away, didnt expect him too be this shy! :)
Watching this on the day Delta came out and how far they’ve come as a band is huge
I watched this 12 years ago on RUclips while working overnight at an oil Derrick in Oklahoma….still love these guys
これめちゃくちゃレアな映像なんじゃない?マーカスのシャイな姿愛らしいね✨
ここからの、Babel時代の迫力は、まじで神ってる!

they had no idea how huge they were about to become...
Touring in a van, and playing bars was their future. Lol little did they know
Isn't it great how we had them on in 2008! This was just their EP :)
Marcus is the perfect combination of adorable and dreamy in this!
the shyness of marcus makes him more likeable than he already is
I can tell these guys are gonna be massive someday!
wat
They have won a Grammy
You can predict the future after it has happened... 10/10

None of them knew in a few years time they would be the biggest and best band n the world :)
Watching this in 2017 and completely blown away at how far they have come!
Ive just won tickets to see them with stephen fry at the itunes gig. I've never heard of them.
Really looking forward to see them live.

Marcus has grown in every way - His physical appearance and voice have gotten so much stronger, and Mumford and Sons just keep getting better.
man, his voice is so suprising
Awe!! Marcus is so adorable!
They're so adorable. I love them. I'm so glad they're coming out with a new album in 2015.
Jesus, I find it amazing how much more confident Marcus is these days. Funny thing, he didn't need the fans to become that way, could have all along, he's fucking awesome
he sounds exactly like he does in studio..gosh his voice is great
I just died. This is the cutest. thing I have ever seen.
How glad I was to be alive and hear this song that I ado-oo-oo-oo-ore.
Awww they have made more amazing music since this. I'm happy for their success
Marcus is the most adorable thing I have ever laid eyes/ears upon.
Mumford and Sons...amazing as usual.
Marcus is so adorable!!
Marcus was soooo shy back then! I mean he's still shy now but has definitely opened up some it seems. It's freakin adorable!
I love how they can stand on a balcony and perform acoustic, having not even been together that long at the time this was filmed, and still sound absolutely amazing. Love them so much.
I absolutely love how humbly shy Marcus is. Ahhhh it's so adorable!
how cute is marcus? so shy
This is like years ago before they were big! Awesome! Why does Marcus look so shy?
Absolutely fabulous
I love how they act like a normal person - shy and not polished. But when they sing - POW!
Awww, Marcus is so shy. That's adorable :)
How adorable. To see them go from this... all shy... to the performance I saw in Chicago earlier this year. They've surely grown. I wish this song would be recorded for an album, though, I love it!

Marcus is so cute at the start !
:) Beautiful song !
Marcus looks so damn adorable! :3
hahaha I can watch this performance over and over again
That voice....savage
I always see Marcus as being a lot older than he is, I think it's because I bought and fell in love with the album, before I saw what the band looked like properly. Over a year later, and I'm still constantly amazed with them!
They are so young, I think this is right before I heard of them for the first time. Classic!
How can they be standing there staring at anything but the camera, not knowing how exactly to behave and then kick ass with that incredible song?!
Makes me smile to see them all so young and new
To be honest, I wouldn't think that the lead singer would be the shyest one of the bunch. He shows so much emotion when he sings, and he's always playing multiple instruments at once.
Literally the most precious. Omg.
I smile listening to it.
I just want to hug Marcus at the beginning. I love this band crazy amounts.
I Love how you had them so long ago, They have grown so much and they are really mainstream. I've listened to them for awhile, About 3 maybe 4 years. Absolutely Lovely.
That is such a sick banjo. I didn't know they made them like that. Its got the core of a banjo, the heft of a guitar and the shape of a mandolin.
Such a beautiful voice, it touches your soul.
I lost my husband to cancer not too terribly long ago. But this song, this is the first time that I can even imagine falling in love again. Brilliant!
Really relaxing and warm song.. And love Marcus! He is sooo cute. ^_^
LOVE this song, LOVE this band *thumbs up*
miss early mumford and sons. Remember when sigh no more came out, really out the world by storm.
Brilliant, just brilliant.
who knew they would be soo huge winthin couple more years going on
They don't want to be the name in the music hall of fame. They want to write songs that they enjoy singing, they do not want to change what they sing about to gain more fans.

This is beautiful.
I love this song and they look so cute! Marcus is so shy. Awww. Thanks for the video.
I miss this so much.
I'm Italian and I discovered this group this morning listening to the radio...I immediately fell in love with them..they're too great!! Adorable XD
Very nice. I love the old fashioned instruments revived.
