- A deep dive into Classic Castings take on Regan MacNeil aka Linda Blair from the 1973 seminal horror classic The Excorcist directed by William Friedkin and based on the novel by William Peter Blatty. Is it the ultimate incarnation of Pazuzu or in need of repossession…you decide.
Apologies to everyone if I wasn’t a 100% during this review but I was in the evil grip of Covid during the shoot.
A massive thank to everyone at Classic Castings for providing me with this bust (there is a link to there Facebook page below) and to everyone who has supported the channel since it started. If you haven’t already please like, comment, share and subscribe and until next time take care of yourselves and happy collecting.

Even with the necc it looks awesome.💙i want one now.
I was 9 years old when The Exorcist premiered. The TV commercials terrified me and gave me nightmares (I was afraid I might get possessed by the devil). Needless to say, I've never seen the movie. Having that thing in my home would freak me out. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your comments and support as always 👍🏻 I was only six when the movie first came so wasn’t really aware of it until I got older, but I can see why the trailers would give a nine year old the creeps 😱 This piece will not be getting displayed in my collection or even in my house but not for the same reasons unfortunately 🤣 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.
Not a piece I would care to own! Too scary, great film that certainly stays in your memory. Like a lot of other comments , I do feel it is a little off perhaps ? With the neck being just too long perhaps? . I don’t own a 1:1 bust and am unlikely to do so but I think they would be such an impressive addition to any collection. I wonder if you have an interest in some other pieces in this scale , I know that Predator and Alien busts are available ? So sorry you are struggling with covid, I hope you can shake it off soon🤞thanks so much for taking the time to do this when you are under the weather. Looking forward to some more great reviews on the channel, mind how you go and do take it easy for the rest of the weekend👍
Thanks as always for your comments and support 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 not the finest hour in my collecting history 🤣 technically it’s not my first 1:1 scale bust as I have the Pure Arts battle damaged T800 bust which is amazing and coming up for review pretty soon. I learnt a couple of valuable lessons on this one…don’t do a review when you have Covid brain fog and the picture doesn’t always match what you get. To be brutally honest this thing is a train wreck and it has gone straight back in the box to be gifted at Christmas to someone I really don’t like 🤣 even die hard Exorcist fans would struggle to find an excuse to display this monstrosity. Thanks for the get well soon, I’m on the mend and hopefully the next review will be more "Go Figure"and less “go to the Doctor”…take care of yourself and happy collecting.
I had one of these of them mine took months to come and it was ok when it arrived but wasent 100% happy with it so i did complete repaint
I believe I payed £250 for mine not bad price at all
Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appeciated 👍🏻 The price point is definately reasonable but unfortunately that's pretty much where the good stuff to say about this piece ends for me. Neither the sculpt or the paint work match what is advertised…it’s enough to make your head spin 🤣 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.
I think the sculpt being different could’ve been overlooked if it wasn’t for the neck. I found myself trying to remember if there was a scene where she stretched her neck haha
Thanks as always for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 I could have ignored the fact it was a different cast to the one advertised if it wasn’t for all the other issues. There was definately a scene where her neck swelled but definately not a scene where she was possed by the evil spirit of a giraffe 🤣 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.
How much does one of those exorcist bust go for and where can i buy one?
Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it's much appreciated 👍🏻. I got mine from Classic Castings on Ebay a UK based company. If you're interested and depending on where you are I am selling this version at a discount, it has only been out of the box for review purposes and never displayed. Let me know what you think, take care of yourself and happy collecting 👍🏻
Thanks for the review as always. I have to say without being mean it's just not a retail quality product, no matter the pricepoint. And the whole thing might have worked a lot better if only they'd done a decent job on the eyes which should have been separate. Eyes are the most important part by far. And if you're making a 1:1 scale piece it must stand up to scrutiny. And raising the pricepoint or not for a one to one scale it's hard to argue against putting separate acrylic eyes in there. It raises the level of the whole thing.
You're too kind as always for a review. The neck is way too long, not ever so slightly. And being different from the photo is a big problem too. Good for them for attempting this piece as there's not much exorcist stuff out there and 1:1 is ambitious. But if these are actual castings meaning they're taken from lifecasts of the actor and implicitly accurate/they get that for free, then it throws into even sharper contrast the lack of professionalism.
Sorry to say it as we're all fans and love this stuff. But you're too generous and while I hate the hyperbolic hate for generally amazing work in our community, this doesn't cut it. Especially if they started with an actual lifecast from the actor. Cheers and thanks again as always! And hope you get better soon!
Thanks as always for your comments and support it’s much appreciated. I absolutely agree with everything you say and on reflection I was way too kind to this piece in the review…I put it down to being ill and having a brain fog. At least thats my excuse and I’m sticking too it 🤣
At best it can be described as amateurish and at worst a complete train wreck. I also feel like I have been misled with the delivered piece not matching the advertised piece in any way.
I’m a huge Exorcist fan (at least the first movie) but even I can’t be persuaded to display this piece in my collection its so far off the mark. It will be going straight back in the box it was delivered in and given to someone I really dislike as a Christmas gift.
Sometimes it’s difficult balancing out a review when you are having to consider the price point as factor and there is a definate trend in the community to destroy anything that isn’t deemed perfect as you say. I try to give an unbiased opinion as much as possible in my reviews regardless of what the piece is or who made it but point definately taken about being too kind, I will try to take the gloves off a little more without becoming a hater of everything 😆 Take care of yourself, happy collecting and thanks for the get well soon 👍🏻
@@goFigure623 Sure. It's hard to not be hyperbolic in either direction as that's all around us. And probably does complicate things a little when the piece is sent to you, as unbiased as you try to be. And yeah the 'rona doesn't help! Cheers mate.
WHAT THE HELL IT LOOKS LIKE NANCY PELOSI AND CATHY HOCHUL 😂😂😂😂
🤣😂 can’t argue with that….the sculpt and paint on this train wreck is far scarier than anything in the movie😅
Some things good, orhers not so good. The neck is too tall like you say and something about the likeness is a little bit off. I had a Regan
From star ace with a big head it was cartoonish and made her bed but I sold it because I'm focusing in 1:6 scale
Thanks as always for your comments and for supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 this piece is very off for alot of reasons. I really wish a decent company would tackle a 1/6 scale version of Regan…maybe with a Father Merrin figure and 1/6 scale bed accessory….but I’m not holding my breath. Take care of yourself and happy collecting 👍🏻
Sorry my friend but they have sent you a totally different product to what was displayed (offered). I don’t want to repeat what you have said but the length of the neck, the facial contours, hair, her eyes are not screen accurate. On the plus side, it’s clear who it’s supposed to be and unless you’re a purist, I guess it does the job.
Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 this is not the product as advertised which is very disappointing. The price point excuses alot but on the whole it misses alot more than it hits….I think 7 out of 10 is generous on my part but I’m not well so have an excuse🤣 Take care of yourself and happy collecting 👍🏻
sorry guy but its off, the neck, the face it doesnt work.
Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻 Absolutely 💯 this piece misses more than it hits…the price point can excuse alot but overall its a miss and not what was advertised. Take care of yourself and happy collecting👍🏻
Not a piece I would like to own too scary 😮. Classic film, I just think like other comments allude to it misses the mark somewhat , with the neck perhaps throwing the dimensions off to a certain degree? I don’t own a 1:1 bust and don’t see the day when I am ever likely to, I can only imagine that they must look so impressive in a collection, I wonder if you might consider any future horror 1:1 busts, I know you can get Predator and Allen offerings but the price point is damaging to one’s wallet😂. So looking forward to what you have in the pipeline and due to appear on the channel in the near future. Sorry you are feeling unwell, hope you shake it off soon , enjoy what’s left of the weekend an mind how you go👍
Not a very good likeness 😂
Thanks for your comments and supporting the channel it’s much appreciated 👍🏻…..absolutely💯 the likeness is slightly off🫣 or more accurately a complete train wreck🤣 Take care of yourself and happy collecting.
