    Al little hack for you. This compressor whilst not noisy compared to other, having any noise close to you can be distracting. This is a quiet compressor but i notice most of the noise emanates from the crappy neoprene type rubber hose that comes with the unit. Why they didn't twin a decent hose with it is a mystery . Use a thicker braided hose and the noise level is very much reduced. Good compressor. I'm enjoying it

    I have one of these and it's been pretty decent so far. I think one day I may replace it with something that is just a little bit more powerful that can run for longer but it gets the job done well and it's tiny which is what was important for me. Only paid £145 new for this + an Iwata HP-CR so no complaints from me.

    I'm a makeup artist and I'm interested in this compressor to use for airbrushing silicone and water based foundations on the face and body. Have you tried using this compressor with a silicone based paint. Wondering if it will have the psi to push out silicone based products 🤔

    would it be adequate enough for someone like me who doesnt model build often, but when i do i want a top job? (or as 'top job' as my mediocre skills can do anyway)
    i dont have much room and would be building on my normal desk (when i get it that is, im just looking to buy an ikea micke workstation) where i do everything else, plus for storage reasons i like things as compact as possible. dont really want big and bulky.

      +xneverwalkalonex I do suggest it, I've had mine for about 2 years and like you I don't have much space for modelling and I don't build frequently. It is not perfect but it does the job quite well for entry-level modelling. I don't think it last 30min before shutdown, I believe is more like 15 min or so it seems to me. Also another bit is that you do need a water trap, it starts producing water like a waterfall by the end of the night, that's the only thing missing in my set up. Also I suggest looking for second hands, I got mine from Ebay, almost new, for half the price $50 USD and with the Iwata neo airbrush for $40 I did the tremendous upgrade from hand painting to airbrushing for less than a $100.

      Just need to buy an adaptor! Very cheap and no you don’t need a real expensive one at all. You do want one that is going to cost more than five bucks but with all honesty you can get one that’s great quality for only ten bucks! They have everything on Amazon. Do some research though. That’s very serious! Just look at the reviews and always look at what real people have to say on RUclips about the airbrushes: most of the people I’ve listened to or watched don’t ask for anything in return no money nothing like that. Most are honestly giving there true opinions on the products. With an airbrush I did find out the hard way that yes this is an object the you do 100% get what you pay for. If you want one to just color in you don’t need a very expensive one for fine lines yes spend a little money. You buy a 25 dollar dual action airbrush just know that’s exactly what you’ll be getting! For 50 bucks you can get you a decent airbrush that will do the job. It will color and shade. The problems you will run into is not being able to get reliable steady work. (Lines and such) that’s when you get overspray and splatters . I’ve messed up a couple hundred dollar pieces trying to save money on an airbrush only to make the same mistake twice and had to replace them both and the whole time if I had just held out and saved a little more I would have only purchased one and would still have it. I did shell out for a Iwata and I’ve found that to be by far the best gun for the price and just quality above all unless your willing to step into the $500 range . That’s 100% true! If you just want to be able to fill in areas and aren’t to worried about fine lines and anyone that uses an airbrush for there livelihood we all know that without your tools there’s no work and your work is only as good as what you put into it and that includes if you care enough about the quality for your work that your smart enough to upgrade your tools as you can knowing that doing so is what’s going to upgrade your work and productivity in general. They have some that are charged with a basic USB and a canister that acts as a mini cordless compressor that all fits in your hand. To be transported and again as long as your not looking to do some fine script or something for about 50 bucks these things actually work great and I highly recommend them. Like I said anyone who uses these machines for there livelihood knows that we need more than one gun when we can afford it they will come if your one to take this trade seriously. For 50 bucks you can take it anywhere and I’ve never had one issue with the two I have as well as my wife and three of my children. Not one of us had even had so much as a clog. Now what we did because we were not sure for the price that any of them were going to work worth a darn but we are still very impressed. So that’s one that’s cheap you can take anywhere! For other guns for fine work and details yes I learned the hard way and waisted money by buying two airbrushes thinking I was getting a great deal but like most newbies I’m sure I went for looks and what looked the most professional. Both were junk and returned in less than two days the both of them and both were purchased at completely different times and sellers. I have found that for me personally I’ll take an Iwata airbrush over any of the airbrushes I’ve ever used and this is sense about 1991. I know there’s plenty that are better quality but not all of us are rich or established enough that buying tools like that at this time would be nothing less than foolish. Now that’s me and my situation everyone is different. So yes if anyone is listening. Please take my advice I learned the hard way and I know I’m not the onlyone trying to do what it takes to survive this mess we’ve been thrown into. I do know that yes it worth waiting and getting the airbrush that has good reviews and is a little more expensive. After returning the two airbrushes I purchased I went ahead and spent about 45 dollars more than what the two original ones cost and if I had done that from the start I wouldn’t have been on my third one and if I was I would have the three I need that all work. I know for a fact the prices are very decent and well worth the price for quality guns and those are pretty much all Paasche Airbrushes I’ve had nothing but good from them. Still gotta say Iwata has got me sold. I am going to try a “master airbrush” the deals seem pretty good and the reviews seem ok as well. If anyone has any recommendations for a master beginners airbrush I’d appreciate a heads up. I’ve got my iwata for fine lines a larger gun for covering large areas like a full canvas and my little cordless gun with a USB compressor all in one unit that fits in your hands and yes they work and by far are just plain ol cool.. it would be absolutely great for someone who does say cakes or body art face painting and things like that. For 45-50 bucks there really awesome and from the people I’ve spoken with and just reading reviews I haven’t heard one bad thing still in over a year! So if your getting into airbrushing don’t rush to buy everything at once you may not even enjoy it. On the same token don’t buy the cheapest things possible either because if you have the drive to really give it a shot and your first experience is with a broken machine or one that’s just hard to use cause it was cheaply made along with many other things those little things can and probably will turn you off but forever ! It’s the type of hobby that’s exactly that ( a hobby) or used as a job for money) either way you can get turned off just as fast as anything else. Don’t break the bank but don’t go the cheapest rout either you will regret it I promise! Get something decent and you’ll have a blast! I started with the 50 dollar airbrush after not using one for many years my hands don’t work at all like they used to so I had to find other ways of making it work. So using old packaging from my kids toys. The clear plastic. I made stencils and that little airbrush had made me enough money to support my family for some time now. Now I’m looking for more airbrushed to really start something finally. Heck I’m truly lucky to be alive so using my hands is just amazing. Anyway though I used the plastic and learned from YT how to do flames along with many other things and all this and spending a total of maybe 20 dollars in paint 10 in thinner and 50 on the airbrush: I started customer painting guns! Rifles and shotguns. Now leather also and so on! I’m also 100% disabled and was bedridden for 7 years I still don’t move very well so if I can do this so can you it’s all about just not giving up! That’s the whole secret! Oh that and a beautiful wife!! Love you guys good luck out there don’t break the bank but know you get what you pay for but don’t let that discourage you one bit! You use and get what you can! One tool at a time nobody buys them all at once! You can do it if I can anyone can! Dead three years ago? I’m still here..

Probably better to get a slightly stronger & more powerful one. This one's weakness is its limited run time (as it needs to cool).

    • @scalewarmachines
      @scalewarmachines  8 лет назад

      +Abdullah Khan Yes tricky. You could easily pick up a very capable second-hand compressor with a small tank & moisture trap on Ebay for that budget. An example might be a Revell Omega or similar. You are looking really for the ideal characteristics as follows. Silent running or quiet, regulator to change the PSI, moisture trap to capture water, reliable air flow - so you don't lose air power. This Neo Compressor is not best suited to your particular needs in these respects. Some people prefer a compressor that stores air in a tank so there's always a plentiful supply of air. However, some compressors that don't have a tank also work well. We will review the Sparmax Arism that you see in some of our videos - that is also a good choice of compressor but comes without an air tank. It has worked well so far on test. It should just come in on budget.

      Thanks. I was asking that because I'm considering buying a Sil Air (Silentaire in the US) oil compressor, rated at 30db, which is more or less a fridge noise. It's quite expensive and requires some maintenance, but if this Neo Air is equally silent, I would consider it, instead.

    I recommend avoiding this compressor, especially if you are new to airbrushing. Iwata is not doing the industry any favours by producing this Neo shite. All they are doing is potentially frustrating consumers who are getting involved in the hobby. The compressor is too weak and the airbrush clogs too easily. Put simply, this Neo stuff is a waste of your money. Buy this and you will be buying twice. You can’t thin paint enough to get it through the airbrush for any decent period of time. Shame on Iwata for producing this crap and marketing it to beginners. Personally, I won’t be buying Iwata products again.
