  • Aside what the thumbnail implies, this isn't secrets straight from the beak of a chicken....
    We share some of the things we learnt while keeping chickens in our garden, including some that are a little graphic!
    We are not vets and these are not recommendations, this is just what we chose to use, please be sure to do your own research before using anything on animals.
    The product we used for the chickens and the pigs were;
    General for putting on the chickens: amzn.to/3heAZma
    For dusting chickens with with a heavy lice load (Not exact product, we couldn't find it as it was brought from a pet store): amzn.to/3fAhRyy
    Added to feed for pigs and chickens: amzn.to/3Tb62MX

    Great video on chickens. We've had chickens about 5 years and everything you shared was spot on.

      Cheers 👍 Good to hear we’re not giving out bad advice, certainly a little worried as we’re still very much newbies with only a few years experience!

    When you say despatch the cockerel how did you do it ? I have chickens six weeks old and think I have a cockerel, if this happens how to despatch ?

      If you have one cockerel it’s not necessarily a bad thing as he will protect the hens but atm I understand that it’s also another mouth to feed that you may not need. We used the cone method as from the research we did, it seemed most humane. Check out Justin Rhodes videos, unless he has removed them, his show the most that you can get away with on RUclips. It goes without saying but I will anyway, do your own research, make your own choices and be confident before dispatching. Enjoy your chickens 😊

    My way of solving the rodent problem... A lovely dose of lead poisoning from a .177 air pellet to a rats head ! It would be like a tin of peaches smashing into a persons head. A sub 12 foot pound PCP air rifle will give hours of fun, extremely quiet and solves the rodent issues
