If you go back and do the regular ending after beating Frog's Wrath, Frog apologizes to you for losing his temper when you meet him in the usual place after you kill the sun
I don’t know if anyone else has mentioned it yet, but the Dev Gnomes fight is basically an analogy for how the game was made.
Everhood started with just Chris (the first gnome) but he ended up somewhat loosing control with Everhood completely taking over and him burning out. Jordi then came to help out and polish things up (apparently the music also got a lot better with Jordi around) and they completed the game working together, with Jordi keeping Chris under control.
Also those are actual sprite sheets and audio files in the background (the same goes for Reconciliation)
But Chris is the purple one and Jordi is the blue one according to their twitter profile pictures, but in the game the one in the beginning before the second one appears to help is blue, which is Jordi, right? And then Chris appears second who is purple... I'm confused

That's not gonna work, unfortunately. There's obstacles in the way after a certain point, requiring the player to pay attention and maneuver around it.
There is a rather interesting ending (at least I think it's an ending) that you get by walking to the end of the endless corridor. Unfortunately it takes like two and a half hours to get there and I don't know if you want to sit through that pain.

There's also a genocide version of the NG+ ending, with not much of a difference except for the fact that Orange doesn't come to help Pink (because they're dead), so Pink is trapped in the incinerator forever and hates you for killing their friends and leaving them alone in Everhood for eternity.

The incinerator in the NG+ is unwinnable. The one at the beginning is winnable, but it has some RNG elements to it.
I've heard it's possible, just insanely difficult to pull off because of the rng

I think that the problem with the games endings is only about how “good” the main one was at the end. If it was ambiguous and then the other “ending” was just “you don’t get an ending because by not killing them you keep them in purgatory, living forever whether they like it or not” then it would be much better in my eyes

You did miss some secrets, however I don't think they are worth another video! (Unless Merg wants to, of course) So I'm mainly leaving this here just in case somebody is curious!
Let me start:
1. If you interact with the mirror of truth around 33 times, I think? (Before obtaining the arm) you get some secret dialogue.
2. You can get this in pacifist, after defeating frog (or maybe just in pacifist, with the whole forest spirit stuff). If you go back to the cursed castle not only you'll get some secret dialogue from some unknown entity, but, in the part with the paintings, a little flashback will play. It's really short tho.
3. You can get this on your way or after the flashback cutscene. But if in the cursed caste if you go to the right from where the paintings are, where rasta and the constantly name changing vampire used to be, a lost spirit will talk to you with just some lore.
4. You can find a secret character called Irvine! They can be found in 3 different locations. One is in the entrance in the cursed castle, just continue going left of their mailbox. The second location is found when you enter from the green door. You can find their mailbox again, and there's an empty circular-ish spot. When you interact with the darkness, they will leave again. Last place is the trickiest, but is at Midnight town. Go down from the Goldfish's bowl, and continue interacting in the darkness. You will find them, and get some lore + an achievement.
5. After Ng+, you can find Cazok and Lewmoth (which composed some music for this game! Cazok composed Feisty Flower, aka the shopkeeper's battle theme, Revenge, the song that plays at the frog's wrath fight and Euthanasia Rollercoaster, the fight against the universe. Meanwhile we got from Lewmoth songs such as Squid Jazz, which is basically Green Mage's theme, like the one where you are not fighting them, Neko Soup, which is Sam's theme, and Scratch N Sniff, which plays when you meet Rob, former world champion, and is also Irvine's theme)
6. If you kill Sam, they will appear annoyed at the waiting room with all the characters.
7. Frog's dialogue changes in the waiting room if you fight them in the pacifist.
8. You can indeed survive the first incinerator, but it is VERY HARD. First of all, there are 2 different parts. The first one is fairly easy once you learn the pattern. However, the second one... Oh boy. It has 2 or 3 randomized parts, and faster patterns. And if you lose? Do it all again, but oh! You have to reload the game, or watch Post Mortem's little funky cutscene (which I got TIRED OF WATCHING IN MY ATTEMPTS TO NO HIT THE FIGHT-) and reload the save, plus having to see Gold Pig throwing you into the incinerator over and over and over-... But if you beat it, you get some lore and skip both the post mortem and gnomes fight. I don't think it changes the ending tho. A great time save in speedruns, however.
9. If you manage to kill Cat God, you will get a Secret Absolute Truth.
10. Green Mage's corridor... yeah. It takes 3 real life hours of sprinting, and halfway through obstacles start appearing. There are 888 rooms in total, 887 with tally marks... and people did some math, and Green Mage should've spent around 3,113,370 years, if we assume the wall we are able to see, and the other hidden from the player's view. However, we know from frog that the inhabitants have been there for many MANY eons... and if 1 eons is equal to a billion years (1,000,000,000)... yeah, I don't want to think about the fact that Green ALSO spent an eternity in the mushroom forest without their eye after they gave up...
11. Oh, I almost forgot! If you kill Professor Orange before the NG+ ending, you receive a slightly different but darker ending.
Random details I don't think Merg noticed:
1. Pink didn't have an arm either before you got it back.
2. The eight ball and the doors actually tell you that both Professor Orange and Blue Thief are mages. As for professor Orange, Harrowed Haley also references a mage as the culprit for their suffering, pretty much being Orange Mage. However as for Blue being a mage... I am confused, to be honest. I mean, they probably forgot, but... I wonder, what does being a mage mean?
3. The game implies Pink is also a Mage from Brown Mage's letter talking about their dance battles with Pink Mage and them truly missing them.
4. There are also implications that there may have existed a Gray mage, that couldn't take it anymore and ended themselves in the incinerator.
5. I think that the game implies Frog is actually a lost spirit, maybe one that Red killed in the past, or one that ended themselves in the incinerator. The lost spirit sprite used in frog's fight is also not used anywhere else unlike the others...
6. Oh yeah, and about Red. Not only does the game imply that they are Red Mage (**cough** **cough** professor orange **cough**), but it implies that their killing sprees were cyclical. This implies that Everhood's population is only a very small fraction from what it used to be... and that this is just us finishing the job...
7. In the corridor ending, it is implied Green knows the Secret Absolute Truth.
I may have missed something, however I think this is enough!
Just when you think it's over, the gnomes return. What a ride Everhood has been!

edit a minute later: oh and also it relies really heavily on you knowing the whole story of the game from the exposition the game does in the good route.
can't forget the (sorta)guilt tripping thru the player's knowledge of the story.
The frog will forever be one of my favorite Everhood characters (alongside Green Mage), always so *determined* and chill against adversity and in his tracks, "Guitar Lord" indeed, and of course, his ultimate song is one of the best in the game.

edit - just finished watching the pacifist route section and just thought i'd put this here, if you continue from the pacifist ending nothing really changes, i think all that really happens is frog has some unique dialogue in the waiting room before the farewell battle lol

I definitely agree with you Merg, the main ending seems like it doesn’t leave much up to thought and feels a bit too forced.
But as for the rest of the game, it’s definitely pretty cool and fun at least, glad that you had a good time!

I absolutely agree that the real ending was way too happy. The game is amazing and had such cool themes but reversed a lot of them by the end it feels.
An interesting thing to note is just how powerful the orange scientist is. If you go back to his “ultimate creation” fight, although it’s really just a fake out, what does play is actually the beginning of the cat god theme, so theoretically, orange was on his way to recreating god.
YOOO how did I miss this video!? So glad you went back and fully explored the rest of the game. Guess there's less alternate routes and more just secret bosses and endings, but still a lot of really cool content!

Something that is mentioned on some OST videos arround the internet is How the cat god literaly never uses a single unreflectable atack,as in its not afraid of you. And the dificulty of the fight kinda shows why, although i do wonder If anyone ever made a custom song that was Just the cat god fight but even harder,with atacks that cant be reflected.
Also,you arent the only one that thought Sam reminded of a particular non cat character from a diferent game merg.
It's always nice to see you introduce new games to us and find all secrets and challenges through perseverance and determination! I found a couple things in this game that I thought were a little interesting but I didn't fully understand them. So, probably not worthy of another video, but you could check them out in your own time. (minor spoilers, probably)
I was doing the pacifist route and explored most of the areas when I found a strange cutscene in the castle as well as a strange guy named "Cazok" wearing pajamas, and he mentioned something about "having a little *fun."* (Jevil #3???) Just thought that was interesting.

These three boss fights are definitely the best in the game. Frog's wrath and cat god took me 2 weeks to beat on insane. Dev gnomes took 5 hours. (idk why.) The corridor ending... Idk if it's worth it or not. But overall great video.

Me when I read the title: Well I guess there's a first for everything.
Congrads!!! Although there is stil more you can do in everhood.
- Beating the incinerator(hardest fight IMO)
- killing cat god
- Kill orange before going to beating cat god, gives a new ending
- explore cursed castle in NG(after geting hand)+
- finish the 3-4 hour long walk in the corridor
So something interesting: orange made that machine to replicate some ancient being but the song that the creation plays sounds exactly like cat god so that’s probably what orange was replicating

Hey Merg! So just recently the Undertale community held an event called... Underevent... cuz it's an Undertale Event XD
Anyways, Underevent is basically a big showcase on RUclips of Undertale fan content (mainly fangames) and I really think you should watch it. Not only would it help show you what some of the biggest upcoming fan games are but I also thought it might be worth recording your reaction to the whole thing and making a video out of it? I know reaction content isn't really a thing you normally do but I figured since you've been doing a bit more unique types of videos lately and since Undertale Fangames have been a pretty big part of the channels history, it would be neat if you made a video covering Underevent to some extent. I really think it's something special.
(Underevent also had a showcase in 2021 but honestly I think you can ignore that one, they REALLY stepped things up in 2022)

By the way, Merg, there's another game with a Frog as the main character, and even a cool (much harder to find) dev ending! Chrono Trigger is a great RPG, that inspired much of Undertale in fact, and if you've never played it before I highly encourage you to. I'd love to see your reactions!

You can win these fights through violence, while a method much harder than stalling out it gives a more satisfying endings
