Thanks a lot, I nearly want to open the battery clip by force, before breaking my watch, luckily, I found your video. I followed you and use a needle to open that clip easily. This watch is wonderful and power saving, it is the first time replacing battery since I bought this at least 5+ years ago.
Hmm I don’t know what’s gone wrong with my battery replacement. The watch has powered on and I can cycle through all the modes but the Adjust and Compass buttons don’t work. (Light button still works) Oddly enough, they do when I unscrew the case back and push the micro switches on the module itself.
One of the metal plates says AC on it. I just used tweezers to bridge that and the positive end of the battery. The AC is lower-right of where the battery goes.
I am curious of how buttons are waterproofed. Have you seen in any watch capacitive, inductive or hall sensor buttons? Or all manufacturers use dynamic (sliding) o-ring seals for the buttons? I opened a topic on Reddit: www.reddit.com/r/AskElectronics/comments/djdnsu/waterproofing_electronic_watchs_buttons/
I had to slightly bend the metal contacts on the side. There was some two-sided adhesive tape that pulled them out of alignment when I was too rough. Took a few tries but I eventually got all four buttons to work.
chipledhungaman the connections may not be touching. sometimes this happens when you pull the module up too high. make sure the module is all the way down.
Lin Le Hi - thank you for getting back to me. I should have modified my post as buttons all work fine now and I am very happy with the fix.I ended up pushing the spring contacts slightly towards the buttons using a jeweller's screwdriver and that seemed to do the trick. Thank you for your video - it has saved me some money. I also agree with the silicone sealant comment below.
do you know any battery in this shape that have 3 Volts and it's rechargable? i need one! my battery died out in just 6 hours...i want it for my DSLR's remote control...i can't believe it died out in just 6 hours!
This video worked for me for changing battery but, like some other commenters here, I had non-functioning button (1 in my case) after putting back in case. Watch this video from 4m13s to see how to put the watch back together carefully to ensure buttons work. ruclips.net/video/1Yp14z8nX6Q/видео.html
I love this simple, no-frills repair video. You saved me from almost tearing the whole “guts” out and ruining his watch.
Did you lose some screws?

Thank you so much for that precious tutorial 😉🙏🏼😊
Thanks for the great Tutorial. Just changed my batter now after watching the video. Thanks again 👍👍👍👍👍👍
I put a 2016 in and watch went blank after 2 days, was wondering what was up!
awesome- thanks for not telling your life story before demoing the technique!
Thanks. Could not see that little latch to get the spring clip to release.
Should I change the rubber oring too?

Many thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you.
Anyone know what size are the screws for this watch?
Orale una batería energizer!!!!!!!
Y la que se le puso una maxell!!!! Son unas de las mejores!!!!
@@josetiznadolizarraga8765 I had a Panasonic, held up for just over 10 years.
I just changed mine and found out you need to touch the ac reset. I can’t find a video in where the ac is on the Casio SGW 100.

Good video
may you tell me about the battery that you used? which brand? which model?
i guess its cr2025?
@@aykan59 how can we sure or testfy?

Does the watch have vacuum inside?! Opening it doesn't issue the watch anything?! Water or dust?!
Armend Krasniqi it can effect it if you don't put the rubber gasket back in correctly. i didnt do it, but id recommend using a silicon sealant.
How buttons are waterproofed? It's not clear from the view.
I never touched the buttons. The seal may not be water proof after opening the watch. Best you can do is put some silicone sealant on the rubber oring

For some reason my light doesn't work after I replaced the old battery.
Sometimes, I've noticed that it won't work for a few hours after I change the batteries. 🤞

What is the best tool to unlock the battery latch?
I normally use a needle or pin 📍
@@nasterkub I thought it needed to have some kind of hook at the end.
A pin would do, hope you got it.
Couldn't talk as you were doing the replacement?
There's not a lot to say is there?
Doing this disabled 3 of the 4 buttons on my watch. Time for a new one.

I had to push all 4 of the the spring contacts down using a tweezer as well. Works just fine now.
