You can't compare an AWD to RWD & the sound of that Jag is beastly

The key difference here: the r8 is a sports car while the xkrs is a coupe. If you're trying to do a fair comparison use the r8 vs the jaguar f-type s or the xkrs vs the audi rs5

The only way the Jaguar stands a chance was with the rolling start. No launch control and rear wheel drive. That Audi sounds AMAZING on the roll by and the Jaguar sounds awesome all the way round. Still love the XKR-GT more despite all of this. Rolling it will give most cars in its class a fight. From a dead start it just doesn’t stand a chance with the rear wheel drive

the Jag is no way a GT car. The aero parts and suspension setup and weight shredding disqualifies it hugely. It is as much a supercar as the audi.. An ordinary XK-R classifies as a GT car as in Gran Tourer. The XKR-S "GT" has nothing to do with a Gran Tourer style car..
Daniel Kemnitz I can't believe you are comparing a FR car with a few aero parts, suspension tweaks, and deleted back seats to a mid engine, awd super car. What on Earth are you thinking? I hope you realize it's the same car as the XKRS with aero/suspension bolt-ons yet that alone bumps it up to super car status?
Keep them standing mile races coming. Very enjoyable indeed! This puts all those numbers/specs into practical, real-world, straight line perspective.

The jag is not even producing 550 hp, the dyno says 507. There was no hope for the jag. I still prefer it to the r8 though.
I wouldn't care how far behind the Jag is. I just love everything about these XKRs and this is it in its final form. Plus it signifies the end of an era - the last V8 powered GT from Jaguar.
They have killed off their most iconic vehicles - XJ and XK. They are phasing out the V8s which is only available in the F-Type and that's on borrowed time after they recently revealed the 4 cyclinder. None of the SUVs have it. The XE and XF only ended up with 4 cylinders.

Ok, Great, The R8 won. But if you had to chose which car to live with everyday my money would be on a retuned XKR convertible. Comfort, livability, reliability, and just plain sexy ass hell looking the Jag is a no brainer. I bet the Jag will be worth a lot more in 20 to 30yrs on the collector market than the R8 as well, especially now that the XK is now been given the ax.

Even the jag has more torque and almost has an equal hp than the audi.
Awd cars are always faster unless the rwd car has more power and torque but off the line the awd always pulls ahead

I would like to see a 2014 Audi R8 Quattro vs 2014 Jaguar XK-R (Not this XKR-S GT), V8 to V8. I believe it would result in a butt whipping for the Audi. If I ever see an R8 on the road while I'm driving my XK-R, I'll see if I can get them to jam a 0 to 60 with me. Would be a fun run!
I am telling you, the R8 V10 with the S-tronic is bindblowing fast. 0-100 km/h in low 3 sec and 10 sec from 0-200 km/h. Watch the video from Motorsportmagazine if you dont believe me. I think that it should leave the M6 F12 for dead, especially from a dig.

That Jaguar's front end is way to busy, it's slashes, grills over grills and gills, scoops and doodley woops make for a confusing body style!!! And it just got it's doors blown clean off which kinda cleaned up the body a bit ;-)

RS7 Audi out performed the jag . Unreal. That is my next car. R8 no doubt a bad ass but the all around useabilty and performance of the rs7 is undeniable especially at its price point.

They should have done the R8 V10+ vs GTR. The Audi has no chance in 0-60 or 1/4 mile, but it should be close in the standing mile.

Real technology prowess of the Audi vs the big engine cat that can just roar loudly . Bet the Audi should do much better in real world conditions and race tracks. Technology wise Jaguar is still in 2nd league behind the Germans.
Ive got an XK-RS. 0 to whatever is useless with it because it doesn’t hook up. Looks like the traction control was on also. A rolling start from 20mph would be interesting. The sound of both of these cars... wow! One final comment... whatever engineer designed that XK-RS GT wing needs his ass kicked. Looks like a high school shop project.
A real race starts from a roll and we all know Jags not good at 0-60 cause all it does is spins tires. Let's see what that audi can do against the Jag from a 40mph-60mph roll and let's see it gain that sort of length like it did from the dig

I just noticed the specs after i started looking a the specs of these two and well . . . the R8 sucks ass in terms of torque , bearly over 400 WTQ lol . without considering the VW scandal . that also affects the audi cars and also that proches comes from VW and audi . why do i hate porches now ? simple , it's overpriced and paul walker died because of one .

The AWD system is the heart of the R8, why do people always hate on it? There are drawbacks too, like less acceleration at high speed, but that just comes with awd. You want a rolling start then go get these cars and do it yourself mate

Not sure. If you look, the Jag never catches up. It *might* be faster with a rolling start from 30mph, but not by much I think.
look at the stats in the beginning and it will tell all the jaguar is simply to heavy to win this race even with a rolling start, they either need to lighten they're car up or give it more power to have a chance.

anyone that knows anything about drag racing will tell you that the race is technically closer than it looks....this shitty tarmac means no traction for the Jag. Look at that 1/4 mile trap speed, 121.7 mph lol, should be closer to the R8 1/4 same with the standing mile, only a few mph difference
