Usually a silent watcher but felt the need to comment today:) Grace is truly a national treasure ! I came across this channel recently and watched all of your old videos from a few years back - you genuinely have the most wonderful and genuine soul . All your videos including the older ones with your family are so incredibly wholesome and have improved not only my relationship with food but also with my family which is the best feeling ! Thank you Grace for providing such a safe space on this channel - You are simply amazing💖
The potato, cheese, gravy, chicken dish reminds me of poutine which is a Canadian classic. It's so good. Just fries, cheese curds and gravy. Lots of places add interesting toppings too. So yum!
A restaurant opened up recently near me and it’s become a local favourite. It’s on Highbury Road (N5) and a small family restaurant called Mihan Restaurant. I’ve never had Afghan food before but it was such an eye opener to the cuisine, absolutely delicious and everything is freshly made. Would definitely recommend.
If you’re looking for something a bit different i recommend Ethiopian food!! In summer there is a market by the south bank centre and they have it there!
Hi Grace! I was born in Germany and a typical German streetfood is currywurst - basically a sausage cut into small pieces topped in a lot of a ketchupy curry sauce (not like an Indian curry sauce). It's often served with chips. A few years ago when I was living in London I know there was a German currywurst stall, so you might be able to find it in London x
Moishes is my favourite whenever i go to borough market! The little pastries aren't their best, but their challah loaves and bagels are to die for, and their babka is so chocolatey! I also recommend The cinnamon tree bakery, it has the most gooey & rich brownies too!
1000% agreed! And the little pastries are traditional Jewish baked goods (rugelach) and don’t attempt to be croissants, haha - so I feel the expectations in the video were maybe a bit off too…
Grace you NEED to visit Leyton in East London! The food scene here is popping off. There’s Morny bakery which does usually have queues but is incredible. Homies on Donkies which is so good for tacos and now Burnt Smokehouse (2 hour queues everyday at peak time, get there early) which had an exceptional review in the Guardian and is apparently incredible!
I currently live in Chiang Mai in Thailand and street food is all people eat here, no cooking barely ever! Though I just feel street food in London must be so expensive compared to here I get my meals for around £1. Also just the general vibe and chaos and vibe would never pass in England and I think that's the beauty of it hahah
I’m from the uk and I visited Chang Mai in July and I wayyyy prefer all the street food and the vibes of markets out there! You’re so lucky to live in Thailand! London is expensive but there is such a variety of foods from all over the world
ever since i started seeing korean food on the internet i have had a real craving for tteokbokki - there are no korean restaurants near me but one day i will find some and try it !!
Taking my first ever solo trip to London next month for 2 weeks. I am beyond excited, and this video makes me that much more excited. I'm a pretzel baker in Colorado, so really excited to try the pretzels!!
If you're ever after a foodie day out up north then York is a great place to come. There's the sandwiches and doughnuts from C&S sourdough, hot chocolate from York Cocoa House, the fried chicken from clucking oinks, tea at Hebden Tea, the korean food at Little Asia, beautiful pasta at Little Italy , wine and cheese at Pairings and proper fine dining at Skosh. Such a foodie city...i could go on forever!
@@sanaa7 Totally depends what you're after! In March the daffodils should just be coming out so make sure to walk the city walls and visit the minster. If you want to go to the Shambles, go early in the morning before it becomes a tourist hell hole. The museum garden and the museum itself are great (and Brew and Brownie, a brilliant cafe, is right by them!). We have lots of independent bookstores, like Little Apple Bookshop, and other independent shops. The Cat Trail is really fun too (look it up online). If you have a car then drive out to the moors/Whitby. If you can please book a hotel or BnB rather than use AirBnB, we have massive issues with renting in the city right now, its actually ridiculous! Hope you and your sister have a fantastic trip :)
ah so glad to see you liked Moishes! I worked there when they first opened. the choclate crossiant id actually called a rugalach! its a traiditonak jewish pastry :)
Just found you and had to comment and subscribe because I loved this vlog so much! You give so much information about what you like and don't like about a food item vs. just saying "it's good" or whatever! I'm planning a trip to England for this year and now will be watching everything on your channel to help plan the meals. Thanks for sharing and helping others find the best foods/drinks!
Phat Phuc and Bao are both on my list Grace, so glad we got to have your reviews of them. I really want to try fluffy (Japanese) pancakes and cheesecake and also okonomiyaki and takoyaki (Japanese cabbage pancake and Japanese octopus in batter cooked into balls- look them up, I’m not doing them justice)
If you ever came to Belfast Ireland I’d recommend Boojum (amazing burritos and a classic for the people of Belfast), Raging Ramen (Birria tacos which you can dip in a birria ramen broth), La Taqueria (taco truck by the river), chubby cherub (great date night spot), neighbourhood cafe for brunch, and Orto for pizza :) all my favourite spots but I’m sure there’s so many more!
You really take us on a tasting journey! And I love the honestly, no matter how excited and hopefully you were about it, if it didn't work, it didn't work. Honestly felt like I was watching a soap opera, the suspense, will she like it. And hilarious change of mind on the roast potatoes
I'm from California, I lived for 5 years in South Korea, and now I'm an immigrant here in France. France doesn't know what street food is, hahahha, no joke, you should see what they call street food sometimes here (I saw a curry advertised as street food once, that needed to be eaten on a plate with maybe a spoon, French would never eat with their hands, lol, unless it's a viennoiserie, lol). Sure there are things like kebab (not French) or other immigrant food that can do "street food", but actually French street food, lol, the closest you're gonna get is a jambon beurre or a croissant, lol. So as a Californian (Northern California) that has lived in Korea, gawh, I miss real street food sooooooo bad, lol, makes me want to go visit London just for it.
Raclette over boiled potatoes with a side of tiny pickles. I have been dying to try it in that way, with the big half wheel of raclette toasted right in front of you and the melty toasty part scraped off onto the potatoes. I know there are stalls doing that at Borough Market. Ive made it at home, just with a small wedge of raclette done under the broiler, and it was yummy, but it just looks so amazing from the big cheese wheel.
I LOVE bao (the food, not the restaurant), I love bread, but everywhere in London is SO expensive for pennies of bread and a tablespoon of filling. I'm not expecting genuine asian street food prices, but it feels like a mick-take. Its less -stuff- than a sandwich. Bao the restaurant is one of the cheaper places tbh, I've seen £10 single bao on menus before (and I ordered something else) Korean Dinner Party (Carnaby Street?) is my favourite fried chicken at the moment (cheese, tteokbokki, garlic mayo. All my favourite things)
Hi Grace! the samosa you got from seven dials is actually looks more like a shingora! which is very different from very crispy fried thin layers samosas, they're more soft and flaky and have more potato!
Best shave ice NOT in Hawaii (my favorite Waiola in Honolulu) is a food truck here in the Seattle area called Mike's Shave Ice. It's INCREDIBLE!!! They make their own syrups and the ice is so fine, like snow. (He uses quality ice with the BEST shave ice machine available). They have all the toppings you traditionally find in Hawaii. I'm happiest with guava syrup on ice over coconut ice cream (when available - they also have ube and vanilla) and an ice cap (drizzle of condensed milk). It's HEAVENLY!!! I hunt them down wherever they move around the area and if they are nearby, I go!!!! They even put a candle in my shave ice on my birthday! Such sweet people. ❤️
Chelsea, London DOYS market! Best French crepes and galettes they roll into a hand held cone, polish dumplings and the spicy Korean dumplings are lovely too. Lots to try inc raw freshly shucked oysters! (personal favs)
I really wanted to try a corn dog so I ended up making them last week and they taste amazing I'm also going to try and make the Korean corn dogs soon 😊❤
if you want to try authentic Scandinavian food and baked goods - you have to go to Peter's yard (Swedish cafe ) in London or Edinburgh - trust me you won't be disappointed !! coming myself from Finland who makes the best cinnamon buns in the world (ie korvapuusti)
This is a sit in joint in Glasgow , Thunder Cat , the food is great especially the french dip sandwich , the service not so great but the food is really good and big size portions. or try Bucks bar round the corner for an excellent chicken sandwich , giant size portions , service great, both well good for value , if your in Glasgow city centre try these.
Grace, how long after you buy these pastries are you eating them? Laminated dough in particular (and I know you know this) is best eaten as fresh as possible. Next time take a few bites right after you buy them for a better assessment.
It's great that you visited vietnamese spots but honestly, those are not authentic recommendations. Laksa, gyoza and duck pancakes are not even vietnamese dishes and the taste at med salleh is very average.
The best EVER almond croissant in London is from patisserie Saint anne in Hammersmith!!! They moved from Paris to the uk and took the bakery with them. 11/10
Heyyy grace! There’s a Kuwaiti restaurant in London that serves our traditional dishes from back home. (Freej swaileh)I know it’s technically not street food but I thought maybe you’ve never tried food from Arab countries/gulf and maybe wanna give it a try!!! I always go with the tshreeb or lamb bachboos!!❤❤❤
My favorite streetfood place at the moment is called "Le Syrien" in Vevey, Switzerland. They make the best falafel sandwiches I've ever tried and it is pretty unexpensive to say it's in Switzerland.
Good Vid 👍 made me hungry. Born and raised in london my dads Vietnamese its good to see the viet food all over the place, grew up eating pho bo. The north and south eat it differently. Easiest way for you to pronounce pho is probably to say 'fur' as in fur coat 👍
The best in Bath are @chaiwalla for samosas, bhajis and bhaji wraps, felafel wraps, chickpea curry; and @ljhugs for Street/fast food wraps, boxes, fries with Cajuncaribbean inspo. 😋😋😉
I've never really had a place I've always wanted to go for street food, i usually go for wagamamas for food if I'm in London and want something nice (and actually have the money lol) but tat fried chicken looked *LUSH!* great video xx❤❤
I’m so jealous that you get to travel to explore so many cool places to eat in London. That’s one of mine and my husbands favorite things to do, but we currently live in the middle of nowhere in the US, and there is no street food/cool restaurants near us 😭 only basic fast food and restaurants.
It's not really street food, but I would love to see you rat e Ben's Cookies and Doughnut Time's items. Especially because of your degree. Are they worth the hype... and the price?
My sister and I got the Yorkshire pudding burrito in Camden and there was no line at all. It was a busy weekend too. I'm not sure if it was *the* Yorkshire pud burrito but there can't be too many right?
I don't know if you have done this or do an updated one pls but could you do like a video weekend in London best things to do like if you were visiting and like the best Italian place the best bakery the best Vietnamese place you've tried etc and activities and things too
I was so disappointed with Yorkshire burrito, when I queued up at the Camden stall I watched them get these aunt Bessie “giant yorkshires” out the packet!
I’ve only had a yorkie wrap once (not in Camden) and I was disappointed. It was really bland. They used really poor quality ingredients. The meat was tasteless and the veggies were watery. I was expecting salty, meaty, roasted tastes, and some sweetness from maybe some roast parsnips or carrots. I had the pork one so some crackling in it or some apple sauce would have been good, but wasn’t there. The stuffing was wet and bready. I’ve not tried another since because I was so gutted!
I live in a small seaside town in Scotland on the north east coast and we just dont have any streefood up here. It makes me very jealous seeing all the amazing food in london 😅
My family is French and I love the almond croissants over there. I find that all of the almond croissants in the UK just taste like almond extract/marzipan 🤢
I know people don't like the trash companies in this their videos but picudos to you for stating that if you don't like something state it that you don't like it because everything can't be likeable all the time❤
I love how honest you are about the food, please don't change what you do.

Sorry I mean in London 😂
I’m sure people cook at home at times…
Can't beat Thai street food, love salt fish when am in Thailand, nowhere like it
Fantastic video: thank you for actually describing what it's like to eat food!! Not enough people do this on RUclips
Going to Japan next week and buzzing for all the street food……all very affordable too. Love it
ever since i started seeing korean food on the internet i have had a real craving for tteokbokki - there are no korean restaurants near me but one day i will find some and try it !!
06:22 what i adore about arabs is that they always give you free samples when you are waiting

There’s an arepa stall in Portobello Road, just past the clothing stalls near the Westway and I dream about those arepas regularly 🙏🏼💙

You should try making your own bao buns. surprisingly easy and very impressive.
i have never had street food! only carnival food! hoping to go to london after graduation so i can just eat🤣💜
I need u to try karaway bakery there. Need to know your opinion on their baked goods! ;)
You must try Pockets in Hackney, the best falafel pita you will ever have!
1:31 those bagels are sooooo good, the sesame seed one is my favourite 🤩 🤤

love your videos! you should use a air fryer or oven to roast/crisp up the pastries before eating!
All that falafel in London bridge (street food too) is hands down the best falafel I've ever had in London!
I have always wanted to try all the different Asian foods.

Hi, where in London is this please? 😍 I can't find it on Google maps.
Have you tried the tasting menu at Shack Fuyu in Soho? Soooo flipping good!

Very happy to see my cultures ‘Golders Green speciality’ at Borough Market at 1:32!
Those who know, know!!

If you want amazing street food you should go to the big feastival at Alex James's farm....flippin amazing 😍
The best in Bath are @chaiwalla for samosas, bhajis and bhaji wraps, felafel wraps, chickpea curry; and @ljhugs for Street/fast food wraps, boxes, fries with Cajuncaribbean inspo. 😋😋😉
Guys. Is the Borough market open in the winter months?
Grace, where are the charcoal pants you've got on ( in your kitchen ) from, please?
Ahh I used to go to Phat Phuc a lot years ago! I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced more the way you would think than the way you said it.
I've never really had a place I've always wanted to go for street food, i usually go for wagamamas for food if I'm in London and want something nice (and actually have the money lol) but tat fried chicken looked *LUSH!* great video xx❤❤

8:17 laksa, dumplings and duck wraps are not Vietnamese food fyi
Here is the west mids we don't have any seafood boil places. I hear there's a few in London. So my request is just that.

Great video.😊
It would be helpful to know how much these foods cost
Where’s the list of all the places you visited? Can only see borough market
Always put the pastry's in the oven for 5mins makes all the difference
Helloooo first?? ❤
Is this a new kitchen or have u renovated 😂I’m confused?
I live in a small seaside town in Scotland on the north east coast and we just dont have any streefood up here. It makes me very jealous seeing all the amazing food in london 😅
Grace calling butter chicken spicy 😅
My family is French and I love the almond croissants over there. I find that all of the almond croissants in the UK just taste like almond extract/marzipan 🤢
Dank pods?
The oshpaz noodles at seven dials are so bad! The Korean garlic bun is the most amazing thing there!
£4.95 for a pain au chocolat 😭 as a french girl growing up in France eating viennoiseries for ~ €1.5 (MAX) that hurt 😅
London had crazy prices. The rest of the UK is actually cheaper for food than France.
I would suggest making a special Gail’s items you won’t regret trust me
There not crispy it sounds like maybe they freeze them & thaw😢
Hachi is a Japanese bakery, it means 8 in japaneses
