- Authentic traditional version as confirmed by Davey Breen, dancing as 1st top man (in the light-coloured jumper), and by Joe O'Shea, present at the recording on 14 July 2010 at the Blackwater Tavern near Kenmare, Co Kerry - music by Richard Lucey and Barry McGrath.
Note that the 'slow square' movement is danced by all couples along a path the shape of a 'W' across the set and back as follows:
2 bars: slide forward 1,2-1,2 towards the next position ending slightly clockwise;
1 bar: slide backward 1,2 towards the centre ending slightly anticlockwise;
1 bar: slide forward 1,2 towards the outside ending slightly clockwise;
2 bars: slide backward 1,2-1,2 towards next position ending slightly clockwise, arriving halfway across the set;
2 bars: the men only batter as in the Durrow Threshing Set.
This is then repeated back to the home position in another 8 bars.
