That's actually a lot better than I'd have thought the footage would look. I've had one of these cameras for years, but have never gotten around to trying it out.
Hi there, I just got one of these and wondered if you know what kind of film works with it? was super 8 by companies like Kodak universal for super 8mm cameras?
Financially shooting silent 8 or Super 8 does not make sense ! However to shoot just one or two does for the experience of knowing the difference when having only 3 1/2 minutes at your disposal, then after that to project it in a good projector at a reasonable distance only and even experience editing if you are ready for it. Film scratches don’thave to be part of the experience if you use common sense when handling it. Camcorders are terrific but real film is real “Cinematography” ! I still enjoy projecting my 8 and Super 8’s but your friends may not want to see them ! Be prepared ! Do it for yourself !!!!.
Lord Ashy Kodachrome is extremely outdated and can’t be developed anymore. Well, technically it kind of can, but only as low-quality black and white and you’re not even guaranteed to be able to get it to turn out right. So basically, for all intents and purposes, Kodachrome film is pretty much dead. The only films you can reliably developed now for Super 8 are Vision3, Tri-X, and Ektachrome
Scarab Shabazz You have to get the film processed and scanned to digital at a lab. In the US, for example, you can send it to labs like Pro8mm or Spectra

The testing footage is actually good, it produces the nostagic touch. I liked.
This is pretty good footage. Nothing like the look of film.
You're pretty good on a unicycle!
The footage looks awesome! I have a Bentley BX-11...how in the world did you digitize the footage?
Josh Anderson Art Thank you! Also Pro8mm are the ones who scanned the footage for me, I highly recommend their service: pro8mm.com

Absolutely, any super 8mm film should work just fine with this camera, regardless of the manufacturer

Pro 8mm, I send it to them in the mail, you can go to their website for more information.

What film are you using if you don’t mind me asking?
Kodak vision 3 color negative film, 200 speed, tungsten balanced
Aiden Serratoni Never saw your response, thank you for replying. I ended up going with Kodachrome 40, thoughts?
Lord Ashy good choice, but there are no services or stores that process Kodachrome anymore, so what are your plans for getting it developed?
Is there an auto/manual exposure setting? I currently have a sankyo super 8 that allows me to set exposure manually as well as automatic.
