    Dang, love it, used pipes for storage projects in my shop but never thought of the aesthetic effect of using them in the home! Also, thank you for the emphasis on safety where many diyers forget.

      Yes!! 🙏🏼☺️💖 Pipes were heavily used for industrial style projects but I think painting them gold makes them feel more polished / modern! And safety first!! Haha 😂

    For anyone who doesn’t know, it costs almost $100. I feel like I got robbed, but excited to start assembling. Lol

      That piping is no joke, hope it worked out for you. Had mentioned about shimming things to make it level, you could jam a thin shim in the hole which would tighten things up to level out. If having any issue

    This is so awesome! Did you color wash all of your walls or just the one?

  • @norskibull2.021

    Quick tip that should help with leveling the shelves, place a lil shim/piece of wood from the bottom into the hole along the pipe on the shorter side of the hole….once you get it to where you want it, the pressure should help hold where you want it and at level. And if along the inner side doesn’t work, try the other side of the pipe.

    • @norskibull2.021
      @norskibull2.021 Год назад +1

      Change of thought, put the shims on the longer side…

      @@serenakoleno9338 great choices…literally anything can be used to shim, but that should be a pretty quick fix for any issues of leveling.

    Thanks so much for showing how to make this unique shelf unit! I’ve been collecting ideas and pictures of plausible ideas for my space for a year … and this will be the first shelf I’m going to make, I love it’s style so much!
    I hope you’re still involved with this video bcuz I do want to ask, approximately how much weight would you say each shelf can hold safely. I hope to hear from you!

    I love this design and Idea however having problems with the shelves staying somewhat straight they are all tilting down since it has no support on the other side any tips on what I might have done wrongly don’t want to put it to waste after all the time and money I spent into it thanks!

    • @caranewhart
      @caranewhart  Год назад +3

      Yes! So this is why I say in the video to drill the holes at a slight angle to correct for the tilt. You can use some teflon tape (not sticky) to tighten it up - that may help! Or cut the boards and try re-drilling. I hope that helps!

      Did you ever figure out the answer to this?

    • @serenakoleno9338
      @serenakoleno9338 Год назад

      For big, heavy pots, I would be sure to anchor into a stud and add another flange in the middle. Easy to add a middle flange, just ask at store if you need help.

    • @hckim-os4kn
      @hckim-os4kn 7 месяцев назад

      @@serenakoleno9338 even after the studs the shelves are only threaded by the pipe and all of the stress would be on that area. Not really safe for heavy pots imo

    I loved this! Your list of supplies in the description does not match what you used in the video, though. No where when you were building this did you use nipples. So...for anyone wanting to build this, I suggest getting the supplies she showed at the beginning, rather than following the supply list.

    Hi, could you tell me what the pipes are originally for? I can't find them in my country just by translating it, and maybe I can find them by "genre", if that makes sense. Thank you

    I’m really confused about the angle when drilling the hole. Can someone explain that?

    • @caranewhart
      @caranewhart  Год назад +3

      Basically since the hole is slightly larger than the pipe, theres enough room for the shelf to wiggle a tiny bit and because of gravity the shelf will tilt downward ever so slightly.
      Drilling a slightly angled hole will help keep it perfectly straight. You can test it out with a scrap board if you need to see it hands on 👌

    You should never wear clothing or jewelry that’s loose fitting or dangles while operating power tools.
