Honestly your channel has kept my mental health at bay…. Struggled with acne all over my face & isolated for over a year….. I dont know how I would have gotten through this time in my life without you, Cass.
Seriously have been at the lowest of lows & I really believed I was disgusting & became truly self conscious about my appearance in a way that destroyed me…. You being real with your struggles & modeling the love you should be feeling for yourself has helped me try to do the same. It’s been such a hard time, I even have been battling with suicidal tendencies…. I’m rambling… anyways, thanks for being there & being consistent. One of the only consistent things in my life atm.

Elizabethhh I love you. I don’t know exactly how you feel but I know how acne has made me feel. I love you and I hope you know that you are supported and appreciated here 💙💕🦋🖤🦄

I had near perfect skin my entire life, until 2 yrs postpartum. By 3 yrs postpartum I had full on cystic acne. I had three vanities, my skin, my perky DD’s and my long curly hair. I’ve lost all three and had to learn to be ok with that. The perky DD’s were easiest bc I lost the perkiness feeding my child and that’s like their job. I’m actually proud of these deflated nanas bc they put in 5 yrs of being milk machines. Losing my perfect skin and the hair loss have been the hardest. Ppl always complimented me on those things so I was vain about them. I’ve gotten my skin cleared up quite a bit (which was super hard bc I have very dry skin & hormonal acne, and for awhile finding anything for my skin type was near impossible) but not so much luck with my hair. I’m trying micro needling so I’ll see if that works. For now I’m buying a wig in a fun color. Maybe I’ll buy multiple wigs in multiple fun colors. But srsly if I could give any advice, don’t base to much of your self esteem on anything physical bc we tend to eventually loose it. It’s just life and age, and if you’re like me, bc of chronic illness. I know I’m working on liking the physically imperfect me, it’s been a lifelong task and maybe loosing those things I was vain about will actually help me get there.

I'm enjoying watching your videos! For me, my acne was 100% hormonal and b/c was the only thing that helped. Nothing OTC. I wasn't allowed to go on b/c pills when I was a teen because of my mom's views on various things. She made me go for the alternative: a prescription drying gel of some sort that did absolutely nothing for my hormonal pimples but made my skin peel. But I made the choice myself in my late 20's-->early 30's to use b/c. & it worked like a charm.

My skin seems to prefer SA in wash off treatments. If I use a leave on treatment with SA, my skin, while does become smoother and "glowy," tends to forever be tender and ready to have cystic acne. I think it's because most of my acne are basically big sebum plugs/filaments so the SA melting them in my pores and my pores constantly creating sebum makes it a never ending issue.

Proactiv used to be good (using it the early 2000’s) then i think they reformulate it making it more drying/stingy as i gave up on it around 2018. Used local brands as replacement until pandemic when i discovered Inkey List. And the rest is history. 👍👍👍

Thank you so much!!! I have such bad cystic acne and horrible breakouts at the moment. (Lo and behold it might be because of the garbage Clinique cleanser I'm forcing myself to use (Christmas gift).) You are the answer to my prayers! I'm off to Inkey land to find some much-needed relief and throwing that pink bottle away.

I so want to try the Ordinary retinol. I'm 50 w/combo skin and the only part of my face that EVER breaks out is my nose which takes FOREVER to heal! Anyway, had to let ya know that when I was driving today, "Who Are You" by The Who came on and your face IMMEDIATELY popped into my head! 😁 After seeing your tier video w/"Whoooo are you, hoo, hoo...hoo,hoo" as a category, you will be forever the vision in my head when I hear that song. ☺️☺️☺️ It made me smile, so thanks for that and for your genuine love for all of us withbig or small skin issues. Love ya! Bye! 👋🙏✌️

I use the ordinary salicylic acid mask as a spot treatment, let it dry, wash off and moisturize and I notice that my pimples get less after a day or so, so I have really enjoyed it. My skin is sensitive, so I am careful not to put it everywhere. I will buy a new one soon since mine is almost empty

The Urban Skin Rx acne spot treatment and serum has %5 glycolic and %5 benzoyl peroxide. I love it. My skin responds well to BPO, but chemical exfoliation is a mainstay in keeping my acne under control. If you find yourself at that same impasse you'll love it.

I personally would put Proactiv at “at least it’s skincare.” It actually worked pretty well for me when I used it and it was my first introduction to the world of multi-step skincare routines. I had a customized kit: I used their “gentle” cleanser (a less abrasive physical exfoliant), I forget what toner I used, and the last step was the salicylic moisturizer, which was surprisingly far better and less irritating to me than their famous green tea moisturizer.
While I wish they did this with eco-friendly packaging, I think the fact that they would auto-ship you refills really helped with habit-building, especially with my ADHD and mental health being as bad as it was. I’ve actually heard they switched to biodegradable alternatives to microbeads in recent years, which, hey cool I guess!
I wouldn’t use it now, but I still think it’s overall…not the worst thing I ever put on my face? But please keep in mind that I was using it in tandem with other, better products for my skin’s other needs (hydration, moisturizing, sunscreen, etc).

    • @Mimijona

I like the succinic acid spot treatment, but definitely have to start using it as the pimple appears and have to use it for a few days to notice it decreasing, but it does seem to prevent it from becoming more inflamed. But yeah the zinc oxide diaper rash creams I have used in the past a lot :D wish they weren't so fucking greasy.

I don't know if I have sun damage or to what degree but when I was younger I HATED how pale I was so I tanned every summer. I even used petroleum jelly or other grease to intensify my tan 💔.
