Please make a tier list for hyperpigmentation 😍 it would be really helpful
Yesss I hope she sees this!
Yes please 😍 😍 😍 😍

Yess, I'm so here for that!
tier list for POC/melanin skin
Honestly your channel has kept my mental health at bay…. Struggled with acne all over my face & isolated for over a year….. I dont know how I would have gotten through this time in my life without you, Cass.
Seriously have been at the lowest of lows & I really believed I was disgusting & became truly self conscious about my appearance in a way that destroyed me…. You being real with your struggles & modeling the love you should be feeling for yourself has helped me try to do the same. It’s been such a hard time, I even have been battling with suicidal tendencies…. I’m rambling… anyways, thanks for being there & being consistent. One of the only consistent things in my life atm.
Elizabethhh I love you. I don’t know exactly how you feel but I know how acne has made me feel. It’s so surreal to think that the thing that almost destroyed me is also something that has brought me so close to the people I care about most, including you. I love you and I hope you know that you are supported and appreciated here 💙💕🦋🖤🦄
@@CassandraBankson thank you. I’m even considering going vegan as well- because of you & dr dray!
@@elizabethgrace967 thank you for sharing your struggles! I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in feeling the way I do, but I hope you feel way better now 💖
@@CassandraBankson Hola Cassandra!!! Por favor que tus videos tengan subtitulos en Español, tu información sobre el acne es muy valiosa, muchas gracias!!! 😊
I was you for 20 years. So finally I went to an online Derm and take Spironolactone orally and Tretinoin. Finally my skin is much better.
I gotta say that skincare got me halfway to clear, but stopping picking and changing my diet gave me the best skin I've ever had.
My left cheek broke out just in time for acne month ❤️ 🍾 🎉 and here I was worried that I wouldn’t be dressed appropriately!
It makes me so sad that people are looked down on for their acne, like why?
It can be gross to look at
@@erismana2105 what’s inside some people is the “grossest” thing of all. I think you know this more than anyone here.
@@billyjean3118 Take a midol Karen.
Lol
People who look down on people with acne are sad sad creatures, I wouldn’t waste a single thought on them ❤️
@@billyjean3118 The person asking question I gave them example. So stay triggered snowflake LOL
I love how excited Cassandra is explaining her opinion, I wish my lecturers would explain things during lectures like that 😂
I can remember growing up with St. Ives. I don't know how I still have skin on my face 😐 and clinique was huge when I was in cosmetology school. Wow...we have come a long way!
LOL Cassandra, I love how “pimple products” slowly became “pimple people”. Literally makes me think of the thumb people from Spy Kids.
This video is great tho btw , so many different products! You can save a lot of people time and money by explaining a lot of popular and unknown products. You’re fantastic. I constantly talk about you to my esthetics teacher. 😇
Oh the Aztec healing clay! I am so ashamed to admit that I used this twice a week with acv when I was 29 (2 years ago) struggling with adult acne 🙈🙈🙈 unsurprisingly it made my skin worse and I finally threw it away when I discovered the RUclips skincare community 1.5 years ago and my skin is mostly clear now so thank you for all you do 💚💚💚
What products helped the most in clearing your skin?
When it comes to acne treatment, Cassandra is my go-to youtuber for me.
I would love to see a skincare routine with your "acne who?" And "breakout be gone" products. How often you would use these products, what time of day you would use them and which ones you would try to space apart from each other.
I appreciate you very much and I thank you for all the wonderful skincare knowledge!
You put out so many interesting, educational, funny, and thoroughly researched videos, do you ever sleep beautiful Cassandra? 🤗💖 I’m having a horrible skin week, hormonal acne and rash from using a little too much retinol on my neck 🙄. But I’m still amazing 🤩
Oh, yes - I’ve been there with the over- tretinoining my neck! It makes every neck crease bright red...and itch!!!
I really love masking, but I've been working really hard to fight my acne recently. I'm afraid of using masks that are going to wreck my progress. I would love a video of masks you recommend!
You made me really think, how long have i been fighting against my skin and acne? 25 years..at a minimum.. 25 years i have never ever had clear skin...25 years of multiple breakouts of allll the varying types.. Just made me so sad and defeated 😔
The inkey list succinic acid is the first salicylic acid that ever worked tor my skin. It works sooo fast!
I use panoxyl as a face mask & don’t rub it in at night. And succinic acid every other morning.
Skins so much better
dermalogica breakout clearing booster is definitely on my "acne who?" list!
OMG CILTGERCEKLERI HIIIII

I ALSO use The Inky List Salicylic Acid Cleanser! I love it!
I suffered with acne throughout my teens, finally getting some relief with Accutane. My ex did as well causing him those deep terrible scars. Well our daughter just turned 12 and has started breaking out already! I would love a new video about the best products for her to start using now. I don’t want her to suffer like we did! The 2 teen videos I found a few of the products aren’t available or back ordered right now. Please help a mom out. I don’t want my baby to deal with this as bad as we did! Love your videos. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge!
I had near perfect skin my entire life, until 2 yrs postpartum. By 3 yrs postpartum I had full on cystic acne. I had three vanities, my skin, my perky DD’s and my long curly hair. I’ve lost all three and had to learn to be ok with that. The perky DD’s were easiest bc I lost the perkiness feeding my child and that’s like their job. I’m actually proud of these deflated nanas bc they put in 5 yrs of being milk machines. Losing my perfect skin and the hair loss have been the hardest. Ppl always complimented me on those things so I was vain about them. I’ve gotten my skin cleared up quite a bit (which was super hard bc I have very dry skin & hormonal acne, and for awhile finding anything for my skin type was near impossible) but not so much luck with my hair. I’m trying micro needling so I’ll see if that works. For now I’m buying a wig in a fun color. Maybe I’ll buy multiple wigs in multiple fun colors. But srsly if I could give any advice, don’t base to much of your self esteem on anything physical bc we tend to eventually loose it. It’s just life and age, and if you’re like me, bc of chronic illness. I know I’m working on liking the physically imperfect me, it’s been a lifelong task and maybe loosing those things I was vain about will actually help me get there.
You breast fed for 5 years?
#VirtualHug coz I've always been on ugly side all my life so I feel exactly about your insecurities. More power to you, Mama! 💜💜💜
I hear you on that hair loss/change kicking my hair vanity in the lady ballz after I had my baby. Went from thick straight “Pocahontas blowing in the wind and looking like a Pantene commercial” to thin wavy weirdness. 😭
I'm enjoying watching your videos! For me, my acne was 100% hormonal and b/c was the only thing that helped. Nothing OTC. I wasn't allowed to go on b/c pills when I was a teen because of my mom's views on various things. She made me go for the alternative: a prescription drying gel of some sort that did absolutely nothing for my hormonal pimples but made my skin peel. But I made the choice myself in my late 20's-->early 30's to use b/c. & it worked like a charm.
I find it really interesting how products work differently for everyone. Like the Ordinary zinc/niacinamide solution, which people RAVE about, made my skin look and feel terrible. Same with the Paula's Choice Azaleic Acid🤷🏼♀️
yeah it burned my skin if I used other actives, but on its own it wouldnt make a difference really.
The zinc/niacinamide works well for me during the summer, but in the winter I dried out my skin-and I’m oily/combo
It worked amazingly well to reduce sebum production but didn't improve my actual breakouts at all
@@maja__5047 niacinimide isn't an acne treatment its more of a barrier support type of thing or support acne fighting ingredients like SA
I use Eucerin, SebaMed and La Roche Posay and my acne is pretty much gone now
My skin seems to prefer SA in wash off treatments. If I use a leave on treatment with SA, my skin, while does become smoother and "glowy," tends to forever be tender and ready to have cystic acne. I think it's because most of my acne are basically big sebum plugs/filaments so the SA melting them in my pores and my pores constantly creating sebum makes it a never ending issue.
Probiotics helped me acne sooooo much!! I been dealing with acne for almost 26 years!! And this last 1.5 almost 2 year have been my best days. Also glycolic acid and pimple patches are my HOLY GRAIL
THE IRONY! The OG Proactiv 3 step and the OG Apricot Scrub is the only routine that has EVER worked for me. Salicylic acid and sulfur DESTROY my skin, even in the tiniest amounts. Also, Jojoba oil makes me break out SO badly! I am shrugging my shoulders in befuddlement!
It worked for me back in the day. I am sure the newer products on the market probably work better but the OG products worked
Also I don't trust Dr Rodan because of the MLM.. She really lost any credibility she may have had imo
Admittedly, You’ve come such a long way over all these years on the platform!!! And on your way you’ve help me with my own acne issues..
Thank you for that, thank you for your hands-on testing stuff all this time, and thank you for sharing your brutally honest experience with what worked and what didn’t, even sharing your uncomfortable truths…
You are admirable! Good job, keep it up beautiful woman! 🌺
i’ve never clicked on a video faster 😍
side note: i’ve been getting proactiv ads nonstop for at least 3 days and i’m so sick of it 😂 i tried it many years ago and it dried me out like NO ONE’S BUSINESS and caused an unbelievable amount of irritation and sensitivity
Same! I used it as a teen thanks to the non-stop tv ads. It was awful and did nothing to fix my cystic acne.
@@Motions.in.Lemonaid 100%. it did way more damage than anything it could’ve possibly done to help
Sameeeee
Proactive = overpriced baking soda
The inky list salicylic acid cleanser changed my life. I use it on my face chest & other places
Cassandra, you may have been suffering from acne for 15+ years, but I've been suffering with acne for nearly 40 years! The popular belief that one can outgrow acne is not true! Thank you for your very educational videos on the topic! 😊❤️
I’m breastfeeding my second kid and have spent every day of my life since Nov 2017 being pregnant or breastfeeding so honestly bakuchiol is my life 💗 I like the handmade heroes bakuchiol
Cassandraaaaa I can’t wait til Hyram’s line comes out so we can have your honest review ☺️☺️
I am 38 & wish I would have found your channel & Dr Dray years ago. This is a wealth of knowledge & fun to watch. Will definitely be taking time to try a few of your # 1 recommendations for acne treatment & scars. Thank you!
Since we talked about SEVERAL different types of acids in the video..can you do a video breaking down acids in skincare? What do different acids do, which one is right for what type of skin, which ones are compatible to use together, etc?
She has some individual videos like this. Several derms have videos on this as well.
Acne free honestly worked so well for me. I've used Accutane as a teen and now tretinoin but before I had insurance acne free was one of the best I used. Really liked the wash in particular
I don’t use pore strips, but sometimes I get bigger hydrocolloid patches to get rid of my dry skin on top without having to exfoliate...
succinic acid spot treatment is actually an amazing product. I have one and had purchased it from the Sephora shop. It has helped a lot with my blemish spots!
I use the ordinary salicylic acid mask as a spot treatment, let it dry, wash off and moisturize and I notice that my pimples get less after a day or so, so I have really enjoyed it. My skin is sensitive, so I am careful not to put it everywhere. I will buy a new one soon since mine is almost empty
I joined this community late and I am obsessed watching all the videos existing!!
Thank you Cassandra for sharing knowledge to all of us!
Proactiv used to be good (using it the early 2000’s) then i think they reformulate it making it more drying/stingy as i gave up on it around 2018. Used local brands as replacement until pandemic when i discovered Inkey List. And the rest is history. 👍👍👍
Yea! I didn't miss this one!!!!! As an acne cyster...I can't wait for this one!
ASHLEYYY I LOVE AND APPRECIATE YOU!!! You are always so wonderful and so supportive. During the video premiere is, in the comments, and just a part of this community, I hope you know that you are loved in every which way. @@CassandraBankson Wow! This truly made my day! We all love you & are proud to be a part of this amazing family! ❤️
Can you do a tier list for all of the common skin issues?? Oily, dry, for glowiness, pigmentation, texture, etc..???
Proactiv, the first or original set, works great for me. It’s the only thing that helped my acne, even more than dermatologist prescribed acne medication. I’ve been using it since the 90s. It would definitely go in the top category for me.
And they do have sensitive and extra strength kits. I used to work for Proactiv and I liked it. I bought their newest version because I had postpartum acne and it helped clear up my skin and it stayed clear. I guess it really depends on the person.
Cassandra!
My first video of yours was the Acne Coverage one 10 years ago.
We both came such a long way.
I feel somehow connected to you.
Keep up the good work!
THNKAS FOR THIS ive been having a stressful time as of late i suppose and so my skin suddenly decided it's time for the pimples to pop their little heads out and say hi! and youre take on acne definitely helps me see it in a more lighthearted way
I have been struggling with acne for YEARS, i finally found good products and i'm on accutane which really helps (:! I love your videos
I used to be depressed and down but not anymore I know these scars and marks prove that Iam a warrior, and I know that someday I am gonna win this fuck*ng battle so know that you can too.
Hey Cassandra, idk if you’ll see this, but could you make a similar video for those who are over 50 years old and for those who are pregnant and breastfeeding? I think it’s just as important as regular people who suffer from pimples.
Here are some videos for pregnancy and acne: dr dray - best pregnancy safe acne products; the budget dermatologist - your safe pregnancy skincare routine + acne hacks; dr davin lim - acne during pregnancy - how to safely treat; dr. jenny liu - dermatologist review: acne treatment during pregnancy and lactation; dr. melanie palm - how to treat female acne during pregnancy
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VID!!! I feel like you hear and see us pimple ppl. Very helpful!
I personally would put Proactiv at “at least it’s skincare.” It actually worked pretty well for me when I used it and it was my first introduction to the world of multi-step skincare routines. I had a customized kit: I used their “gentle” cleanser (a less abrasive physical exfoliant), I forget what toner I used, and the last step was the salicylic moisturizer, which was surprisingly far better and less irritating to me than their famous green tea moisturizer.
While I wish they did this with eco-friendly packaging, I think the fact that they would auto-ship you refills really helped with habit-building, especially with my ADHD and mental health being as bad as it was. I’ve actually heard they switched to biodegradable alternatives to microbeads in recent years, which, hey cool I guess!
I wouldn’t use it now, but I still think it’s overall…not the worst thing I ever put on my face? But please keep in mind that I was using it in tandem with other, better products for my skin’s other needs (hydration, moisturizing, sunscreen, etc).
I laughed out loud when you thought that K Jenner was coming out😂
❤ you Cassandra!😘
I keep finding the acnefree Adapalene tube at Ross for 3.99. Yeah, we like acnefree
I feel just the same about Clinique oily skin care products, a counselor in a cosmetic store recommended them to my teenage self, and when I said they did absolutely nothing to my acne, they just blamed me for probably using the products incorrectly. Very disappointing indeed.
The Ordinary SA Masque broke my heart. I am obsessed with that product. I use it at night and do my nighttime routine and I wake up and my skin is amazing. I am so surprised that you hated it!
i remember when your face was severe so was mine now youre skin is soooooo clear
I currently use a Cerave Foaming face wash twice a day, I moisturize with Cerave Pm at night time and during the day I use Eucerin Daily Protection Spf 30, sometimes when I notice Im getting more breakouts I switch my morning face wash to the Oil Free Neutrogena Face wash with SA, but the star of the show is Tretinoin, I already finished my retinization process, I use it daily now I don't get irritation or anything like that. I have noticed that if I wake up with a pimple when I put y Tretinoin before going to sleep next day I will barely have anything. In keeping things simple and it's working, my oil production has reduced, I do own a The Ordinary Niacinamide serum and sometimes in the daytime I apply it before my sunscreen and is amazing, it enhances the oenetration of the spf and literally if feels weightless on your skin. I don't use the Niacinamide often because my PM Cerave has Niacinamide in it. I have a Hydration night mask from Simple and I use it every other day, it is a very light weight sort of water gel that penetrates really fast, gives you a dewy look but it is not sticky whatsoever. I do get my ocasional pimples, never like Cassandra but I did struggle a bit and now my skin is brighter, my texture is better etc.
as the biggest avril lavigne fan out there, she had acne but i don't think she used that proactiv set to treat her acne also.............
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge about beauty products. I'm so ashamed that I'm one to be scammed by sales lady telling us that their product is the best. Thank u.
The Ordinary zinc and niacinamide doesn't work for me at all 😒. It irritates my skin and cause more breakouts 😔. But I do love their aha -bha peeling solution and their moisturiser with HA.
Thank you for your always so wonderful advice 😇
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for you to do a video on PCA SKIN!!!!! I haven’t ever heard you talk about it I would LOVE to know you thoughts and research on it!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!! I love you and you that thought me so much!!! I am obsessed with your videos!!!! Your so BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT!!!! Smart also!! I literally tell all my friends to watch your videos and they become hooked as well your so amazing, beautiful, smart and have helped so meny please keep doing what your doing!!
Working at sephora helped my skin a lot. They do a lot of skin training and my didn't clear up until I started using certain products.
What product
The succinic acid treatment unfortunately did nothing for my huge cystic pimples 😕 Only thing that really helped was the yes to tomatoes triple threat acne treatment or zinc oxide diaper rash cream.
I like the succinic acid spot treatment, but definitely have to start using it as the pimple appears and have to use it for a few days to notice it decreasing, but it does seem to prevent it from becoming more inflamed. But yeah the zinc oxide diaper rash creams I have used in the past a lot :D wish they weren't so fucking greasy.
I tried also zinc hyaluronate(maybe I spelled it wrong) as it is clear and not greasy, but I still think that zinc oxide worked better to get the whiteheads out.
Have you tried a primarily sulfur treatment? My skin doesn't respond to BHAs very well but I've had really good results using a 5% sulfur mask 2-3 times a week.
@@wickjezek1101 nah I tried the versed sulfur spot treatment but that didn’t work either
I tried the salicylic acid cleanser so hard I really tried to love it but no. So « gentle » i felt it didnt clean my skin. Never got an effect of my face. I could have tried on my body great idea !
Love this video ! Thank you 😍 I would have love to see The Ordinary Azelaic Acid 10% ! I'm in love with this product
It's like you knew I am having hormonal acne right now and it just is out of control. Thank you for this video. Now i am going to have to try some products from The Inky List.
I struggled with cystic acne from 5th grade all through high school and into college. My parent bought me proactiv to try to help and it was HORRIBLE. My skin HATES benzoyl peroxide and it really hated proactiv.
Speaking of Proactiv, there is still a vending machine for it at my local mall!
Proactiv made my skin break out and irritate it so bad. Like it burned the crap out of my face but my skin is super sensitive
The Urban Skin Rx acne spot treatment and serum has %5 glycolic and %5 benzoyl peroxide. I love it. My skin responds well to BPO, but chemical exfoliation is a mainstay in keeping my acne under control. If you find yourself at that same impasse you'll love it.
Thank you so much!!! I have such bad cystic acne and horrible breakouts at the moment. (Lo and behold it might be because of the garbage Clinique cleanser I'm forcing myself to use (Christmas gift).) You are the answer to my prayers! I'm off to Inkey land to find some much-needed relief and throwing that pink bottle away.
I so want to try the Ordinary retinol. I'm 50 w/combo skin and the only part of my face that EVER breaks out is my nose which takes FOREVER to heal! Anyway, had to let ya know that when I was driving today, "Who Are You" by The Who came on and your face IMMEDIATELY popped into my head! 😁 After seeing your tier video w/"Whoooo are you, hoo, hoo...hoo,hoo" as a category, you will be forever the vision in my head when I hear that song. ☺️☺️☺️ It made me smile, so thanks for that and for your genuine love for all of us withbig or small skin issues. Love ya! Bye! 👋🙏✌️
I started spironolactone 2 weeks ago after your endorsement of it. I've been offered accutane multiple times over the past 15 years and have always refused it. My skin is Uber oily but never broken out until the past year. I'll update if it helps with acne and oil production over time!
Proactive is what made my cystic acne go though 😬 made my skin strip like crazy but was worth the results
Niacinamide and zinc saved my skin. I had breakouts for years and I loooove it. And nip fab salicylic acid foaming cleanser
My daughter has bouts of acne, I love your videos! I also had acne pretty bad when I was younger and I have learned so much from you!!
Random but I think it's a good video idea: Is sun dammage reversible? And how to prevent it? I don't know if I have sun damage or to what degree but when I was younger I HATED how pale I was so I tanned every summer. I even used petroleum jelly or other grease to intensify my tan 💔. Now that I'm older I protect my skin and regret doing that to myself.
Thanks you for this video. Also just wanted to say your videos and advice has helped my acne and skin so much.
As a teen in the late ‘90s/early ‘00s… My skin recoils at the thought of Proactive. Benzoyl Peroxide sensitivity led to many nights of tears.
I didn't use many acne-fighting products. I used the BP from Galderma (prescribed) and my skin would just get flakey and dry. It got a bit better after my derm gave me a lower percentage.
I now use the azelaic acid from Azclear. It's decent. It gets rid of the pimple quite effectively (for me) but it does make me feel a bit itchy and balls up if I rub it after application. Due to that, I would not use the azelaic acid in the morning since it's gonna get messy with the sunscreen. 🤔
Honestly, I suffered with huge amounts of acne last year and this year. I have finally got a handle on it. My skincare routine is incredibly detailed and pinpoints exactly where I need things. Salicylic was actually next to tragic for my acne. I have sensitive, dry and acne prone skin. So that was tough to treat. I’ve basically just taken a pretty gentle approach to my skincare and to really listen to my skin. I know that my chin cannot take any strong ingredients, neither can my neck or my under eyes. So I keep everything gentle but deliberate. My acne is completely gone and has been gone for months. I attribute it to still using and enjoying skincare but being very picky about what I’m using in one day. If I go too far, my skin will explode the next day. And once it explodes, it’s so hard to bring it back.
Would love to see a video on prescription skin care and medical devices!
Another question about Retinols: what do you think about about Clinical 0.3% Retinol + 2% Bakuchiol Treatment and Clinical 1% Retinol Treatment from Paula’s Choice? It’s a Retinol (brand) pretty easy to find in EU!
As a longterm acne sufferer, I definitely feel broken... 💔
Cassandra, thank you very much for the knowledge and confidence that you're spreading, especially in this difficult time for me..
You are such an inspiration 🥰
I send my love from Israel🙏💜🇮🇱
Also the ordinary salicylic acid masque can have a ph of over 4 which makes the salicylic acid ineffective. That’s why it doesn’t work for some people.
You’re so good and helpful . I am so grateful 😭 thank you dear ☺️❤️
That is what we want! My favorite kind of skin care recommendation!
Fun fact: REN means CLEAN in Danish 😃
How exciting?! Thank you so much Cassandra for making this video I use some of these products already and I couldn’t be more happier. This is also very helpful.
ive been binge watching all of your videos for the past two days and ive noticed you havent broughtup how vaping causes acne can you debunk that or talk about it in any way? ty i love your vids !!!
Please change the colours! My mind can't take it😅 if you used other colours, fine, but with "traffic lights" colours red is bad and green is good!
Yeah! I tried this clinique collection and it made my skin so red and dry
After watching this video the more I realized that each person has their own skincare that suits them even they all fighting the same thing, acnes 😂😂😂
I recently bought Clean and Clear's cleanser from its Advantage line thinking it had benzoyl peroxide but it didn't. It had salicylic acid. And it had fragrance. But the cleanser was surprisingly pretty moisturizing and the smell was kinda pleasant too. I'm not hating it and it does seem to help with minor breakouts and acne.
Inkey list is *loooove.* Inkey list, is life 🤲🏻✨
Yessss
The succinic acid treatment didn’t help my nose breakup, I tried it combined with the inky list benzol peroxide wash and my nose got red and swollen and breakout got worse, I stopped it for a few days and I switched to cerave salicylic acid wash and spot treated with neutragena 2% benzol peroxide treatment and that worked better and redness, swelling and zits disappeared. Did i do something wrong? I really wanted to like the inky list spot acne treatment
I used to have acne as a teen and I got rid off it with birth control only to develop some weird skin allergy in adult life (I believe it was from the pill but who knows) so now I'm allergic to sunlight. So spf isn't only my BFF it is my lifeline (and also hats)
Omg I get heat rashes. Its the worst!!! I get really bad heat rashes on my hands.
@@lubnan08 I'm so sorry to hear that! I only get it on my face, neck and chest but it's all year round so i have to wear hats. I found this company called Shirudo and they made a product for this containing two ingredients that have actually been tested to help with this - vitamin e and alpha-glucosyrutin. I just ordered it and I'm waiting! The founder has pmle herself and a lot of people say it worked for them. I'm hopeful although I'm not gonna hold my breath. At this point I'd try anything. I've had this for 10years and nothing worked...
@@IncandescentLightbulb00 thank you! I hope it works. I will goggle them. Much appreciated. And good luck on your journey!
@@lubnan08 you too! I hope you find something that works. Sunscreens help but they are definitely not enough 😔
Yasss I love the whole mission behind this ❤️
