      The dealership In my city stopped selling the motorcycle be
      Because he was not making any money fixing them because everyone can do their own stuff and not pay $100 hour for dealership fix

    just came across your website. and find it quite informative. sold my 09 BMW gs for a 2022 gear up as my hip cant take a 2 wheel bike anymore.

      Glad to hear it, Ken (the Ural, not your hip). I hope you enjoy yours and much as I do mine! My reason was my sense of balance in not what it used to be. Great!!

      Thx Allen..... isn't there a spline at the back of the transmission and at outer end of sidecar that needs to be lubed?

    Nice video. Where can I get Oeitiker wrench and clips? What sizes are need. Mine is a 2020 gear up and I’ve avoided doing this because no clips or wrench? Thanks for the great vid.

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  3 года назад +2

      Hi Stu. The only place I was able to find the clips was from Ural. There are two sizes: 48.5mm (IMZ-8.1040-15008-20) and 41.0mm (IMZ-8.05528). Your Ural dealer should have them in stock. I got mine from Heindl. The tool I got from Amazon (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002SREPY). Thanks for watching… fairly easy procedure.

      Most everyone uses black Zipties (tie raps)...✅. One size fits all, AND there is less imbalance (not that a Ur Old goes fast enough to matter) do to there lightness over steel clamps with larger tightening (farther from center) devices...😎👍

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  3 года назад +1

      Hi Anna! I was just go use zip ties on it, but I always wanted to try my hand at an Oetiker clamp, so I pretended to be a purist and got some. I see some people using hose clamps, which like you say, would cause an imbalance. Zip ties should work great - easy too!

      @@Uraljunkie ... We actually DID wonder how easily those clamps worked though, now we know 😎

    Why not grease the universal joint at this time?

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад +1

      Hi Nick. Simply because I had another video planned where I greased all three. However, you are correct in that the best time to grease the joint on the driveshaft is when it is out.

    Метрический инструмент прислали в есте с мотоциклом или его собрали на дюймовых болтах?

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  11 месяцев назад

      да - он входил в заводской набор инструментов.

    Another great video , thanks for taking the time to film it all.
    My bike will be a bit different having my sidecar on the left but the same principles should apply. I also don’t have 2wd so maybe easier.
    Do you use the 2wd much?

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  3 года назад +2

      Thanks for watching! Yes, should be a lot easier on your Ural. As for 2WD… when I first got my Ural, I had visions of going everywhere like a tank. The reality is, that the Ural is very capable in 1wd. I have used 2WD maybe two or three times only - and in those cases, I could have gotten by without it. I suppose it would be useful in mud, but haven’t encountered much of that. So, in my minds eye, I know I have it just in case, but use it very little.

    Good information but viewers doing it for the first time need to make sure to check the donut. Having never owned a ural before, when I bought mine the old man told me everything was perfect. He lied. The donut and drive shafts were so worn out Im not sure how it didnt break. Just a little advice. Thanks for the videos.

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  3 года назад

      Really good point. I did the videos with a newer Ural in mind. I think that in the future, I will add the perspective of a wider range of bikes. I should have talked about the donut as well as checking the u joints. Thanks for the comments and suggestions… and for watching!
