    Good video…it “brightened” up my day. Now you need a work/spot light for the tub to use in camp or on the road.

    Nice one. I have a spare pair of LED spotlights I'd like to fit to my 2021 GU. The 2011 Tourist already has a light bar that illuminates the next post code. The standard "spotlights" on the GU give a spread that improves on the single headlight, but they're strictly low beam, not made for distant vision that we need round my way. I like to be able to see wildlife BEFORE I hit it! lol Keep on making these vids, mate.

    How are you doing Alan? Where are we going to visit on your fantastic Ural this year? My 1973 Dneipr 650 sidecar is all operational and rolling here in France and I am really looking forward to getting lots of kilometers covered both on and off the road. I sure am looking forward to following your adventures 👍

    First of all, thank you for your videos. I, too, have fallen into the abysmal addiction of these wonderfully awful, joyously painful beasts. I bought a 2020 Gear Up this Spring, and spent weeks working on extricating the bugs of neglect the previous owner let crawl into it. I am almost to a point of normal Uralism, but still have a problem with the handling. She pulls to the right. Right now the toe-in is a whopping 1¼", checked many times as accurately as I could. And the lean out is about 1½ to 2 degrees. I had it at 3+ degrees which didn't seem to help, and actually seemed to make handling"feel" worse. Any words of wisdom? Thanks. Len

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  6 месяцев назад

      Hi there… that’s a lot of toe in. I think the spec is somewhere around 3/8th of an inch. Your lean out sounds about right. I would start with getting the toe in correct and then go from there. Curious if it helps - let me know. Thanks!

    glad to see more of your videos again. my gear up came with two lights side by side on the sidecar. haven't tried them yet in the dark yet. i noticed behind your front fender a red bracket bolted onto something in the video, it that a shield to protect your oil filter?

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад +1

      Yeah… GearUps come with the lights on the sidecar which are the same ones I took apart in the video. Good lights, but only 7.5 watts. The red thing is a Hella horn I had laying around from another project. I think I will put the original horn back on or try a Denali air horn.

    @markhendricks5894 2 года назад

    Allen, I as you thought the Denali would be nice until I saw the $$$. I have also been looking at the Auxbeams and agree dollor for dollar they are also for me. They also look great. I guess you ran a separate circuit for the lights?

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад

      Totally agree. To be honest, old age and time has precluded any vivid memories of how I hooked them up.
      This what I got in the original kit: www.uralne.com/fork-mounted-led-driving-lights-does-not-fit-retro-models
      I did tie them into the ignition switch, so the key has to be on. I hope I installed a relay, although 3 amps each is not horrendous.
      Keep in mind that the Auxbeams just have bare wire out. You are on your own to wire them up, so you will need connectors, switch, inline fuse etc. Sounds like a wiring kit is in order, plus some way to mount them to the bike. The Ural lights were 7.5 watts and the Auxbeams are 36 watts, so a 480% increase! That is per light too!

    Hello old man! At this rate, we will see the connection of an electric winch. I saw a photo report of an enthusiast on RUclips ..

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад

      Maybe one day. If I ever get stuck and need a winch, I will consider one.

    • @Googlag
      @Googlag 2 года назад

      But after all, the winch is not just for yourself. You can pull someone out in case of an emergency on the road).And anyway. This will give the motorcycle a more off-road look)

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад

      @@Googlag While that is true, I could use my Ural to pull them out since I carry ropes and recovery gear. Around these parts, anyone stuck would be in a four wheel drive vehicle that is itself equipped with a winch. As far as the looks, I am more interested in function and need than looking cool. The Ural is cool enough by itself!

    • @Googlag
      @Googlag 2 года назад

      @@Uraljunkie The winch looks cool and functional . In our online stores, they sell electric winches (with a thrust of 1350 kg)on motorcycles. It costs about $270.And I think it's expensive.

    What light bar did you use on the bike, I have a 21 CT with the Gear Up lights on the side car, but I think I would like a light bar on the bike itself. We live in a rural area, deer and recently hogs, more light equals more safety!

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад

      I used the old mounting brackets I got from UralNE.com. You can get the kit from them and upgrade lights if you ever want to. Otherwise, you will need to find some that will fit or make your own. This is the original kit I got from UralNE: www.uralne.com/fork-mounted-led-driving-lights-does-not-fit-retro-models. Good luck!

    Can you run the lights during the day as daytime running lights, or are they blinding to oncoming traffic? How is the beam, focused, or more of a spread? thanks

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад

      I use the little lights (up by my headlight) as daytime running lamps so I can be seen better. The Auxbeam lights are for off road or running on desolated highways with no traffic. They are pretty focused… good for lighting up dirt roads.

    I'm not an electrician but, it seems that LED lights won't draw as many amps as conventional bulbs would do, in the past. Less power drain on the system.

    • @Uraljunkie
      @Uraljunkie  2 года назад +2

      That is very true! Much less amperage with LED. To get that much light out of an incandescent bulb, heavier gauge wires and a relay would be needed.
