Flea market or not that is an amazing amount of gear! I do enjoy seeing some of the old school flea market stuff. Reminds me of when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s and people I knew were getting into car audio when they started driving. Sometimes all they could afford was flea market stuff and some of it wasn't always terrible! If nothing else we all tended to learn from it!
I was going to say the same thing, I like seeing the fleamarket gear. None of it was stellar, but not all of it was junk. I had more than a few pieces that were pretty damn good for the time, and really good for the price I paid. Especially considering the gap in price from flea market gear to even the low end name brand stuff.
A buddy of mine had some of those thumps back in our high school days , believe it or not in the back of his 76 Maverick you could hear him coming for miles !!!
Those Pyramid speakers were maybe $35 retail at a place by me that sold them in the '80s and early '90s. I think I might have had a pair early on. That's how I learned to just buy the right stuff the first time. That's something I told my customers when I worked in the business.
My first ever subs was a pair of red surround Thump Pro 10" subs (they had a slightly bigger magnet than the blue surround ones)- in a box I made from 3/4" chipboard, sealed with 2 tubes of silicone sealant, and wired with way overkill 8 guage as speaker wiring. As I later got up to 1000w plus, we used 2/0 welding cable to the amplifiers, and 4 guage for each individual subwoofer I ran them off of a Teac 100 + 100 amplifier I bought from sears in a blister pack. I'd love to see any Teac amps you run across. I have never found any info on them anywhere. I had a 40w+40w for my door speakers... they were Craig 6.5" 2 ways that came with the Craig AM FM Cassette radio that I got for Christmas. In my 1973 Buick Apollo, and then moved to my 1981 Pontiac Sunbird. Lol. I was 16 and on a budget, and at my parents' whim on what I was driving. The later cars were all mine. 89 CRX (Pioneer 12" IMPP subs, 400 watt Soundstream Amplifier), 95 240SX (actually placed 2nd in my class (100-500w) at an IASCA SPL event with a Soundstream Reference 1000 (not an "s", it was a early one before the caps in the plastic window), running 3 JL Audio 12w6 Subs in a custom box that had to be installed and sealed in 5 pieces, and could not be removed from the trunk without destroying it. 😊 lots of work went into that one.
That's a sweet L.A. sound peace. Myself I've own 2 old school 12" la sound 12s they actually sounded very nice. Way better than the clarion subs I had. But I did love the Catalina classic amp. From back in the day
Oh man this was a good one. That LA Sound piece is one I would live to own. I have the 5 band EQ version of it. Mobile Authority I think did become MA audio eventually. I have a few of their early Korean made amps.
The Acoustic Bass Pump is an interesting piece! The design looks like they were shooting for a front air mass loaded, quasi bandpass, infinite baffle install for vehicles with a trunk/rear window deck. If designed correctly, it would lower Fs by air mass loading the driver. Another plus is it could use (cheaper) drivers with rather high'ish QTS. The wedge's net internal volume is too small for a bandpass alignment, but may have reduced (filtered) higher order harmonics? An evolutionary (non subwoofer) progression of this would be the Danley Unity/Synergy horn for pro-audio applications.
I think I had exact same Thump 10 inch subs, they were pretty weak I blew 1 of them and threw them in the trash. I think they were as good as my American Hi Fi Turbo Force subs. Those were a couple of the very first subs I ever had. Would be curious to see how the Blues subs do. Thanks for the video.
The back pages of Sport Truck or Mini Truckin used to have Thumps on wholesale in the mid 90's, you could get the 10's for like 20 bucks each and you could pick from a variety of colors.
Im excited to see the woofers in use and your thoughts on them. As a late 90’s/early 2000’s kid, car audio was really cool and just wild what guys would do. I miss the flea market stuff, it’s all just Amazon/ebay now. The risk you took at flea markets was part of the excitement. Plus, cars are so integrated now that it makes stuff like this hard to mess with, within reason of course.
Great haul you got some cool stuff there! Never heard of the Bues Audio before. Also I wonder if those bass pumps were designed for G body cars that didn't have enough space in the rear deck for 6x9s 🤔
That iso sub thing reminds me of another similar thing I seen in the 90's. I don't remember who made it but it was two subs face to face in a pyramid shaped box or something like that, definitely not Pyramid brand though. Very interesting to say the least. It was a better known brand I just cannot for the life of me remember who it was. I don't think it was hooked up for demo either because I wanted to hear it.
Hah, I like that ELITE, mostly for its Cheapo but Japanese made looks. Since it says "(2) Use 5A fuse only." I think everyone here knows how close to 125W + 125W on the front of the box it'll get. The back covers more truthful number of 20W + 20W even seems unlikely.
! That equalizer /amplifier with the spectrum Display Makes the Best Computer audio speakers with some good 6x9 or 5x7. beats any Logitech system for sure!
@@RTwesthoff Blues wasn’t made by Stillwater, the designer of the kicker competition subs, Don Mitchell, broke away and started Blues across the street from the Stillwater Designs headquarters. Later Ray Rayfield, owner of Linear Power, attained the rights to the Blues name and brought it back even better. He’s since dropped the Blues name and the speakers and ISO-Kits are branded Linear Power. They sound freakin amazing!
I've always been curious: Is there an audio "dead zone" at the driver's seat in these systems? I remember constantly seeing drivers on their cell phone while their car is pumping out so much bass that buildings next to the road were crumbling.
I used to buy those low power Realistic and Optimus car spx and use them in cheap boomboxes. They were more efficient and sounded pretty good compared to the cardboard drivers they came with.
Ima make a Bass Pump Shotgun with like double barrel bass cannons of 3x 10 inch subs in sequence like that in each barrel! Or make 'em giant horn shapes starting with a 6", them 8" up to 15"s or 18"s lol
I have a pair of Thump 5 1/2 speakers and some older gear. This was a cool video, but I’m almost positive that all of your viewers want to see that Blues sub in a box …😂
You could still buy those blues subs and the iso kit brand new in up untill fairly recently untill LP killed the blues name and branded everything as LP, now they still sell same thing they juat dont have the blues name on it, so those may be newer than 97...also acording to LPs msrp page the ISO 10 kit costs $930 in 2024...so they got a little cheaper.
I have a brand new 8 track player that was an add on to factory Oldsmobile radios Still have the box for it too. Idk if you’d like to have it or what ever. I could give it to Brad or whatever you wanna do if you want it
I have a red cone and red basket Thump Pro PTH-82. Says Anaba(?) USA Compton,California on magnet. I was wondering about this speaker and if it’s was desirable back then.
Pulgas mercado aka flea market aka mexican mall Xtant definitely NOT a flea market brand.. Xtant was pretty good quality Earthquake currently has their own " pump " style dual passive radiators 10"s about $99 12"s $109 on sale
Earth quake made something similar to the bass pump they were to passive sub set up the exact same way but they were to be mounted on a box port. 💯👌👍✌️🫡😉
Let me see those thumbs up! Thanks as always for watching and commenting as well!!
I had a pair of the Toshiba 6x9 two ways from the
mid-nineties and they sounded great!
The Thump subwoofers brought back bad memories 😂
God they sucked. Lol
I had a pair of 10's with the red surrounds. 😂🔊

Holy cow an old Blues isobaric. Wow that takes me back.
Man what a haul!! Can't believe yo are still finding this stuff in such good condition today!

Bass pump for life. I love those things. Set up right, so much sound in a sedan.
I can’t wait to see that iso sub setup. That is cool as hell. At first I thought it was a Phoenix Cyclone.
I use to have the thump 12s and the 15s back in the day, with the pyramid super blue 15s. This was in my teenage years. Memories
OH that coustic dr is a collectible for me❤❤❤ real lovet right there from sweden ❤❤❤
Love this stuff!! Please dyno the Eq booster!!
The Rockwood's "pull-out" game is on point.
I absolutely love when you make these type videos. Brings back so many cool memories of all the cool gear back then!
Danm, 40 years ago that would have been the shizz. 😂😂 I was obsessed.
Drooling over the Pyramid speakers…..must……have! 😳

I own those Pyramid 4 inch bad boyz. Got mine back in 2001. Still work today!
The old school blues sub bung back memories for me

I used to have a Linear Bass pump ,it had two 8s in a clam vent .
Definitely check out the old EQ some of them were amazing. Most of them weren’t wonder which one you have.
I have woofing and tweeting needs, thanks Toshiba!

Thump subs. Awesome sauce

Woah, I got excited when I saw that LEQ 1030..... IMO that is a cool piece!
Keep up the great content bud.
We had a Rockwood 600 watt amp on two pioneer impps back in the day, flea markets were cool
0:46 omg I thought that was a PG Cyclone. Either way, extremely cool!
I always wanted to get one of those bass pumps, but the convertible didn’t allow for it!
It's hard to believe most of those brand names are still around but the quality is not the same. Good haul.
I bought my first Rockwood head unit because it was wood grain with a remote.
From the flea market obviously.

Dammm..such a throw back.. I had a 10inch thump back in 2003. Remember Rockwood as well, my dad had the Rockwood amp 100x2 back in 1995
It would be cool if you were to find one of those in Jse /jet sound electronics q's, amplifier. Those were really loud back in the days.
I remember when Blues,Mohawk and Kicker was made by Stillwater Designs. I have owned subs from all three brands.
Kicker also made impulse speakers and amps

absolutely love these videos!! thanks
Those Thump 10's are definitely 93. I bought 8 of those exact ones for my 93 Hyundai right after I bought the car brand new, lol.
Why would you buy a Hyundai? 😂 especially in 93 God damn lol
Can't wait to see a review of the Blues sub.
Love all these goodies💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 yes Dyno
Heck yeah! Now the Ford can have two Bass Pumps and quad EQs!!!
I really hope your gonna test the bass bumps
I purchased two thump 10inch subs from freys electronics in California back in 98 lol
I definitely would have bumped that old Rockwood head unit back in the day shoot lol
Toshiba actually made some pretty decent amps. We're similar to Yamaha amps.

Cool stuff 👍

Hey! I'd like to own that Elite eq
It’s all cool stuff
Linear is still in business? I remember when the doors were locked at their HQ. (I used to live down the street. For real. Down The Street)
Run that iSO kit with one woofer signal inverted. :)
Had a Rockwood radio it was actually decent
6:26 i've never seen a speaker with a label around the magnet, that's a first. They were really trying to fluff up those speakers!
Odd, I agree!
Very cool iso sub

Had the original Tarantula and the reign of man amp plus 4 caps and two crossovers
those little radio shack specials look like they were specifically designed for multipro tailgates 🤔
Thanks.
I have a brand new 8 track player that was an add on to factory Oldsmobile radios Still have the box for it too. Idk if you’d like to have it or what ever. I could give it to Brad or whatever you wanna do if you want it
Chulada de equipo...!!!!!
I think Mobile authority (thump) was actually annaba usa from California . They also made MA audio i believe.
Yes! Says Anaba on the magnet
👐
I have a red cone and red basket Thump Pro PTH-82. Says Anaba(?) USA Compton,California on magnet. I was wondering about this speaker and if it’s was desirable back then.
That Xtant isn't flea market gear.
i had a yellow Thump they had red to :-)
Where do you find those retro stereos? Ebay?
Many are donated to me from enthusiasts or former shop owners
@@wal2 Nice, sometimes I feel I really want a vintage tech like booster with equalizer
Eazy-E probably did use some Thumps, after he was tired of everyone always tying to steal his Alpine
"Something more desirable."😆
xtant was made by coustic
Dem Thumps wuz just the bottom binned Funky Pups. If they didn't measure out to 0 ohms in QA they would rebrand them.
fragile = "frah-gee-ley"....it must be french 🤣🤣 wasnt the xtant the higher end PPI? or was it MTX, i forget
Fragile…….. it must be Italian!!
you seriously mispronounced chassis!!?? 😂😂😂 wow!
Pulgas mercado aka flea market aka mexican mall
Xtant definitely NOT a flea market brand..
Xtant was pretty good quality
