This Song from the Stones, is a song over deep darknes and black minds, and the Mick vocals and the frosten sound is unbelible and simple like the Stones!! 🤔 😎
Wow! I’m 77 years old and this is the first time I’ve heard this song. I’m guessing it got very little if any air time. Sad song but very true for some. 👍👍🇨🇦
I had the album in high school (I remember the zipper), but I don't remember this song... surprised I missed it. More living done and really appreciate this....

This song truly makes me not want to do drugs. It truly makes me want to do drugs. What drugs really are about. You want them. You don't want them. A losing battle.
Not Stones . this is Marianne Faithfull. Jaggers girl. proved a legend of her own. Same thing with FMac. Bringing a backing vocals girl.turned the band into a supergroup. Women in rock have always been discriminated, yet some are truly divine.
I first heard this song on August 3rd, 1971 only an hour after my best friend from childhood was run over in a crosswalk by a drunk off-duty FBI agent. My pal was killed instantly, his head crushed and brains on the street. I had no idea he had been killed and did not know until the next morning. But "Sister Morphine" has reminded me of his death these past 53 years. Hell of a connection.
Really happened to me: ER into Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital. 4th floor. I was so delerious that my Doctor(s: had 2) had no face. December 2022. When I left the Saperstein Pavilion, I weighed 99 #. It's a song about suffering and pain. Morphine and cocaine are temporary relief from both. Death is the end of suffering.
Sure thing Ghandi - yet I've noticed you are still alive - careful what you recklessly promote.
Such a sad, sad song but I always come back to it, to remind myself of how lucky I am today.
Truth in words, truth in music.

My favorite Stones album. Every song is fantastic, such a great time in my life. Favorite song is Moonlight Mile though.

Jack Nitzsche on piano.
Why is this song not considered the best song ever?
because people doesn't have any feelings for a drug addict they like the song but that's it
because ever hasn’t finished yet ???
Because people aren't doing jumping-jacks for heroin addicts. Next question?

to an indulgence of a selfimposed personal weakness.

Not to indulge to a crying and a crawling. To give up (before
