Best to get a Borboel from a Working Line and not a breeder that focuses specifically on "conformation." You want a "pretty statue" this may be the breeder for you; you want a working dog go to a breeder that works their dogs thus proving their true temperament.
I had considered shipping one over from home, but this breeder actually knows what she is on about and and her dogs look very good indeed. Finding a genuine breeder is very difficult, but I’m grateful that I clicked on this. Thank you.
From looking at this video You can already see the difference between AKC dogs and traditional boerboels. The AKC dogs have longer legs, tighter flews and more angulation on their stifles. Further, the AKC restriction on Irish pied dogs is strange. Also, some of the breeds this woman mentioned that allegedly went into the creation of this breed are highly suspicious to me. The AKC and it’s followers have ALWAYS ruined the look and ability of breed after breed. There is no reason to believe that the boerboel would be any different. No. Thank you. I will stick to dogs from other registries.
I am South African living in California now. I am sorry to say but these dogs look NOTHING like the boerboels I was used to growing up. Don't know why these people get to dictate what the breed looks like if they dont know anything. This lady talks as if she is an expert but she has no clue what she is saying
Which other registries? I know SABBS for boerboels is good for them. Akc is like Kelly blue book for people who don't know what to look for... Kbb is how registries should be treated. Remember you heard it from workendog first!
I used to see this lady by my old job walk one of these beautiful dogs on the westside of 72nd great looking dog and she was definitely the pack leader.
It's great seeing a woman being able to control a powerful breed but being realistic if something were to go down and the dog got ahold of another dog or person she would not be able to physically control the dog.
They seem to have a very loose breed standard. It seems to allow working dogs to thrive without setting a clear divide between show and working dogs but still a very odd loose standard. Especially for it being recognized by the ridiculousness that is the AKC.
The boerboel is a protected land race in South Africa , thus the SABBS was required by law to provide DNA evidence that Black Boerboels are in fact boerboels. The AKCs refusal to acknowledge black boerboels is sheer stubbornness and nothing to do with the betterment of the breed
Here early before the good and bad comments. I'm in a group on Facebook and kyle isn't liked by everyone in the boerboel community, but her dogs are awesome. #dogumentarytv
Superb animals in the vid.! Totally a protector breed by the mannerism! I’ve had a good friendship with a few kangals and see similar instinct//learning watchmanship of their flock. The flock can be an active family with land , they need a lot of attention. And appreciate being told about your day.
This won’t be the first breed standard the AKC absolutely destroys. I would never waste a cent on registering or competing my dogs with them. Absolute bunch of muppets!
As puppies my chi and a puppy Boerboel connected like magnets and screamed when they saw the other owners car coming to the dog park. Like teenagers in deep love, they always dived towards each other, but stopped 2 meters away and both did a silly happy-dance for a while. Then they roamed in a 30-35 meter radius from us owners, exploring things together and having a lovely time. Once they spooned while 3-4 dogs where busy whith other stuff, which broke our hearts. If someone my dog didn't like entered the park (like, 3 times in 2 years) he'd bark and holler at them until his big friend ran up real close on the intruders. Soft and tender, but still makes anyone think twice before making any threats. I'm in serious considerations of getting a Boerbol now. I just like both kinds of dogs, and it's kinda nice having one alerter and one enforcer. Just in case.
Good content bro 👍👍 luv how she explained the boerbole as a breed with the AKC and it's other clubs 👌 what she said about destroying the breed is exactly what's going on with the Am. Bully.... 🙏😔 👊😎
Great video :) Boerboels are awesome, I have a 10 month old black boerboel so I know they exist regardless of recognition of kennel clubs. She is currently weighing in at 45kg and is 23 inches at withers. She owns the sofa because her bed is too small already lol. Interestingly, she has quite brittle nails and is on a supplement to help. I wonder if other Boerboel owners have this issue or is it a random genetic throwback?
I had the boerboel in 98 we were some of the first people in the states to have the boerboel. They had yellow eyes they were extremely athletic big but not overly big. Black wasn’t a excepted color i kno all about the breed and have papers from 98
Wow the American standard has it fucked up our dogs so much, she described the all the wrong aspects of how they should be. Shame and sad to hear from South Africa
It's funny how specific we humans are about each dog breed and use biological traits to guide competition rules etc yet we can't agree what is a woman 😂
Boerboel and the South African Mastiff are now two different breeds. South African Mastiff is a trademark by the Ysterberg group of breeders in South Africa.
I dont like it when they start going on about this should be 9/10 of this and not more than 27” BS. Form should follow function, not the other way around. I don’t believe in such strict physical standards
So you dont understand what creating and maintaining a breed which have to serve particular purpose means. Inches above clearly indicate influx of foreign to the breed genetics. If you follow your own logic there will be no breeds to enjoy whatsoever, not to mentioned the incredible love, devotion and decades of hard highly sophisticate work to create a breed. For those particular dogs the "folks" rejecting the "black boerboels" as representing the breed are absolutely right, the lady in this video is projecting big time describing them as the greedy ones. For anybody who love big black mastiff type dogs there are plenty to choose from.
This is a amazing powerful dog. I hope the dog breaders are very cautious who the sell this dogs too. Very dangerous in the hands of a unexperienced dog owner. This dogs should stay in the farm.
Yeah sorry but i can't help to intervene here. American Bulldog is not mixed in the breed i can tell you that (the most rediculous thing i ever heard about Boerboele). Secondly she hasn't got a clue when she calls em wardogs. At that time there was no such thing as the Boerboel as it is in current form. But hey, good promotional talk. Boerboels are not prone to many health problems unless you are linebreeding (inbreeding, normal for FCI or AKC dogs). This woman probably does linebreeding and is already making excuses to justify the health problems her dogs will have. Warning people against bad breeders when she clearly is one of em. Please get your ass to SA and see actual Boerboele m'am. You are gonna feel silly about this whole monologue after the visit.
For a very longtime Boerboel was the top of my list for a Service Dog because i fell in love with the breed . my family friend had two boerboels, and i adored them. i ended up deciding other breeds would be better for service work specifically. Puppies included. And I'm talking about owners who have boerboels either as working dogs or just for the sake of having them, not only breeders.
Boerboels are probably the healthiest big dog breed exactly cause they are still working dogs. All the health problems this lady talks about are typical of extremely bad bred boerboels. Mine, wich is not one of the best, is 6 years old, she lives outdoor and go to vet once a year just to get vaccins. For me the best breed for home protection, very tollerant with children and friends. Very intimidating with strangers intruders
Max Golant hi, i bought it from a South African breeder. I know it’s not sudgested to buy dogs online, but at that time it was difficult to find a good boerboel here where i live
The reason for black boerboels not being accepted is that the black(k gene) is dominant in boerboels. So if black dogs ard allowed to breed, the other colours wil disappear. Please help us to preserve this beatiful dog race. Much love from south africa
No one with common sense can say that it will be ruined just because other breeds have there are breeds that are the same way the have been no one can say that
What's up Zeke?? I missed this one. I don't give much thought to what the AKC thinks. Don't care about any club that restricts any color that was in a dog decades before the dog was in the club. But I'm not a show dog person anyway. The clubs seem to take a good dog then make it look the way they want it to look and call it the same dog. Don't drink the KOOKOOlayed. LOL!!
Black "Boerboels" don't normally have that gorgeous square blocky head. They look like they've had a black Labrador jump into the mix. I absolutely adore my Boerboel ❤
The DNA results are being misinterpreted. American bulldogs didnt exist in their current form back then and neither did boxers. They are the closest living relatives of the dogs the DNA is reading. Those being the old white english and Spanish bulldog/iberian mastiffs
@@wargriffin5 bullenbeiser = spanish bulldog. Am bulldog have some bullenbeiser in them, but the original white english was a separate bulldog strain. Look the up mastiffs from the iberian peninsula. All those dogs have a common ancestor
She's real breeder - her dogs are in right weight, like they should be, because they are working dogs, not like many boerboels around 90kg (they are overweight, only for look aspect). And what i really appreciate and respect is fact, that she didn't cropped ears and didn't docked tail, which is very popular in USA and fortunately banned in many countries in Europe. Many breeders have their dog with crooped ears (presa canario, cane corso, pitbull) and with docked tails (like other breeders doing with their boerboels), when their dogs are show ones not working dogs. Love that woman and breed, one day i will get my own Boerboel :)

how to make a working dog into a show dog - give it to the americans im being hyperbolic ofc chill lots of great dogs in the US ofc - but you get what I mean - I got a tonn of examples - like the Irish setter a working dog turned into a joke in america - not all, chill again

This video is a MUST see for anyone (especially Americans) who have an interest is these amazing family members. The one shown in the show is probably the closet to perfection I have ever seen. Too many American breeders have ruined their dogs as they breading them too big. There in no need to try getting them bigger than the one shown here, trust me that dog will destroy those overgrown beasts, because though it is lighter it is almost the same strength, but it is more agile, an over sized BOERBOEL is ugly.
Good dogs tho but Not a true specimens.. The real boerboels here where im from in Africa are much bigger and are build a bit different thats just how we know them and why they were used for protection against lions and stuff because of their size..
Akc has ruined just about every dog breed. Thi lady obviously does not know what she is talking about. also she is alright with the boerbel weighting 180 still to heavy. This breed should be very athletic in order to perform in extreme environments
200lbs on a male is fine if there lean on a high protein diet and sled pulling/exercised these are a big breed most males won't get heavier then 180 becuase people don't feed and weight train them for that size these dogs were bread to deter lions and hyenas
I am picking up a rottweiler puppy in 6 days. The puppy have been mostly been eating canned food (wet fod) will it upset its tummy if i change its diet to kibble. ?
Whatever you choose to switch too, you need to slowly transition it by mixing it's old food with the new food and decreasing the old food day by day with the new food.
@Me vitamin a is fat soluble...this means it can be poisonous if administered incorrectly. Pumpkin is an excellent food source. Dont feed pumpkin everyday or more than a few times a week to prevent a vitamin a overdose.
so much advice here! A sudden change can upset their system, just gradually introduce the kibble a little at a time into the wet food, while removing the balance of wet food. If you do it over a couple of weeks, the dog won't notice and neither will you :) I use a solid brand, know where they source their 'meat derivatives' and please try to avoid fish based foods as they have a seriously high level of mercury which cause cancers in dogs. As this lady said, introduce calcium supplement for healthy bones, even if it's for the first 9 months or so. baked and crushed egg shell is a great alternative if you find vet costs too high (as I do!) Them bones really need support in growth as rotties do get pretty hefty. I personally avoid raw diet as it can give you more issues with parasites and in turn an unhappy dog. Sorry to bang on, I adore dogs and would adopt all of them if I could get away with it!
Great video! Don’t agree with the breeding philosophy or the AKC influences. More in the Brad Anderson camp but beautifully shot and put together as always! Thanks so much 🙏👍🏻
I got a black female, and I've seen a lot of negative feedback from some breeders about the blacks. She's an awesome example of the breed and a great dog, what more could you want. AKC is all about money. Happy days.
@@SJ-wu9zx I'm generalising not that one in particular but every one I've seen. I mean go look up Terrible twins Boerboels. They are lions. No black Boerboels, bred to the African standards.
AKC has distorted the boerboel perceptions and standards. also with regards to colors and proportions kindly refine so as not to distort what the actual breed standard is. this is a SOUTH AFRICAN DOG thus its important to have all associations on a global scale follow the sabbs standards (South African standard). also color discrimination isn't good as its like saying an albino isn't a thorough human being. or someone that isn't recognized as a human being. other than that nice video.
also sabbs doesn't agree with the under bite statement you made.they'd disqualify your dogs so please don't ruin the breed as some of your dogs don't emulate what the breed is or standard is.
The problem with "black" Boerboel is that it was achieved by a deliberate cross breeding to change the dog. Some have a problem with Brindel but that is BS Brindel Boerboel have been around a very long time, not very common but is known, even SABBS is at odds with must old breeders *even refusing to recognize farmers as breeders and selecting city breeders instead) because they are city people who have gone out they way to take control of this breed from the original breeders namely FARMERS (who UNLIKE SABBS who are in to the breed for money, farmers are into the breed for protection, often giving their dogs away and swapping with neighbors to stop inbreeding) no one knows the breed better than they do after all they been breeding these dogs for over 200 years when the father passes away he passes on the farm and the dogs generation after generation, whilst the top people in SABBS have less then 15 years and were not born into the breed generation after generation.
What are your opinions on finding a Boerboel Rescue as opposed to going to a breeder? I would love to give a good dog a loving home but on the other hand I want something genetically sound that I could raise on my own.
I keep being telling that mine was a canecorso mix bullmastiff. Bullmastiff are way "fatter-style" than mine, and canecorso are mostly black. (oh... that's the one next to me on my user-pic/icon) Can a blood/dna-test show which race mine is?
Beautiful dog! I can see he/she has the cane corso muzzle, longer snout but has classic bull mastiff colouring. Looks like a fine balance. DNA testing will tell you exactly what you have there :)
Yes but never answer the question about what breeds you think are in your dog, because the test will give you those breeds (they don't test anything but give you what you want and take your money).
And as someone who lives in South Africa, I can tell you that most of the dogs in this video are not true boerboels, they are an americanised version but not a true suid afrikanse boerboel
Even in America, they are less common. It's also not that unthinkable, given the hodge podge of native South African dogs, English, Dutch, and French dogs, that ancestored boerboel, in addition to who knows what else, that some mix of genetics would produce pure breed blackness rarely. It's also not that absurd to suggest black dogs were removed from liters in historic south Africa, a trend we moved away from earlier in America.
@10:06 she stated "oh you have nice dog, I have a nice dog let's breed them. And that's how a breed gets ruined" she said that after saying it took 10? Breeds to make a Boerboel. It's people like her who ruins the breed.this is a good dog and you breed dogs with other good dogs not smaller dogs not radical wild dogs others good stable dogs equivalent to size. I spoke with her or the other lady one time really disappointing I have dogs from the best bloodlines in South Africa great breeder that sold them to me black iron boerbles don't talk to that lady here on RUclips she and her friend are nuts

I can take my bb on leash in public and he behaves perfectly around strangers. Zeke does have several other bb breed videos- search his channel. They’re an amazing breed for the right person.
Thank you so much for this.. ive watched every boerboel clip u had and on RUclips and this one really convinced me to get one but i want one that looks like a boerboel not a great dane face.. thx for everything u do..
I have two Boerboels, and they're probably the most loving, protecting, and all-around amazing breed of dog I've ever met. They're just wonderful
I LOVE when you get articulate, knowledgeable people to do these breed overviews. Solid solid work, keep it up!!!
Best to get a Borboel from a Working Line and not a breeder that focuses specifically on "conformation." You want a "pretty statue" this may be the breeder for you; you want a working dog go to a breeder that works their dogs thus proving their true temperament.
Ab So Lutely...
where are those breeders ?
You can successfully have both show and working in one dog.
I had considered shipping one over from home, but this breeder actually knows what she is on about and and her dogs look very good indeed. Finding a genuine breeder is very difficult, but I’m grateful that I clicked on this.
Thank you.
Awesome Boerboel video! Getting my first Boerboel in June!
KC always takes out colors, they like shrinking gene pools.
Kennel clubs have ruined most working breed's
I own a boerboel, without knewing it was a boerboel in the beginning..She is the love of my life
They seem to have a very loose breed standard.
Good for them not allowing mongrels to be called Boerboels.
Doggy racism...
Here early before the good and bad comments. I'm in a group on Facebook and kyle isn't liked by everyone in the boerboel community, but her dogs are awesome. #dogumentarytv
Love the videos been watching for a few years now. Can we get a video on chow chows?
AKC standard is trash and not to benefit the Boerboel
Superb animals in the vid.! Totally a protector breed by the mannerism! I’ve had a good friendship with a few kangals and see similar instinct//learning watchmanship of their flock. The flock can be an active family with land , they need a lot of attention. And appreciate being told about your day.
Best breed imo pleased you've done another video on them 🖤
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣I know it's the correct terminology, but I was not ready for the "And the bitches..."
I agree with being an experience dog owner for this dog breed they’re so big and very powerful also smart.
She spent so much time telling about what the AKC wants to see, I'm more interested in just learning about the breed.
It's funny how specific we humans are about each dog breed and use biological traits to guide competition rules etc yet we can't agree what is a woman 😂
Well said my friend
ROFLMAO
Thanks for the video am not a really fan of this breed but i love learning diffrent type of breeds and these dogs are amazing
Boerboel and the South African Mastiff are now two different breeds. South African Mastiff is a trademark by the Ysterberg group of breeders in South Africa.
"so heavy that it can't perform its duties" The labrador standard has this requirement as well, yet we have what we have with them in the show ring.
I dont like it when they start going on about this should be 9/10 of this and not more than 27” BS. Form should follow function, not the other way around. I don’t believe in such strict physical standards
I 100% agree. They're already starting to ruin the breed. Show dog people are shit if you ask me.
i hear you 100%. im planning on owning my first boerboel puppy in a few months :) no need to even measure my pup. he'll be a stud no matter what lol
I really enjoyed this. Content excellence yet again 🙂
True
For a very longtime Boerboel was the top of my list for a Service Dog because i fell in love with the breed . my family friend had two boerboels, and i adored them. i ended up deciding other breeds would be better for service work specifically.
My top breeds are Dogo and Newfoundland - I have to Dogo is far above anyone else
She sounds like she's reading a presentation
A good boerboel (strictly working dogs)will not get on in a showring.
Exactly! that's why they are m being changed to suit the showring
@@porcoddiogesubastardo9669 there shouldn't be, a breed should be the same I'm the farm as it is in the show ring after all if we are showing them to admire their natural traits why do we change certain characteristics to suit the human eye?
Akc is going to end up fucking up this breed.
They look way smaller than the ones we have in South Africa.....
Adean Maggott thats not an adult 😂
@@letsbehonesthoney.1038 it still applies
It's not uncommon for boerboel puppies (in South Africa) to look like adults even if they're less than a year old
@@hmmmnope2455 i never said what she said isn’t true and just because it can be an adult doesn’t mean that it is. Your just guessing
@@letsbehonesthoney.1038 I know that just because it looks like an adult doesn't mean it is one. "You're just guessing" I'm not sure if you've been to South Africa but take a walk around areas that has dogs, specifically boerboels, and you will see that they're generally bigger than the ones in this video. Puppies included. And I'm talking about owners who have boerboels either as working dogs or just for the sake of having them, not only breeders.
AKC has lost all credibility. They are just money grabbers.
Riccardo Carlotti where’d you get yours
Max Golant hi, i bought it from a South African breeder. I know it’s not sudgested to buy dogs online, but at that time it was difficult to find a good boerboel here where i live
I love your videos!! I was wondering If you‘ve ever heard about the breed „Broholmer“ I‘d really appreciate some content about them!
The reason for black boerboels not being accepted is that the black(k gene) is dominant in boerboels. So if black dogs ard allowed to breed, the other colours wil disappear. Please help us to preserve this beatiful dog race. Much love from south africa
I never knew that, but it makes so much sense! Thank you 🍻
Is being recognized by the AKC a good thing or a bad thing? Look what they did to the bulldog
Look at the gsd, the American show line's hips are fucked up!
Bad defenitly
No one with common sense can say that it will be ruined just because other breeds have there are breeds that are the same way the have been no one can say that
What's up Zeke?? I missed this one. I don't give much thought to what the AKC thinks. Don't care about any club that restricts any color that was in a dog decades before the dog was in the club. But I'm not a show dog person anyway. The clubs seem to take a good dog then make it look the way they want it to look and call it the same dog. Don't drink the KOOKOOlayed. LOL!!
It will be awesome if you guys talk about the Estrela Mountain dog 😁😁😁
Black "Boerboels" don't normally have that gorgeous square blocky head. They look like they've had a black Labrador jump into the mix. I absolutely adore my Boerboel ❤
The DNA results are being misinterpreted. American bulldogs didnt exist in their current form back then and neither did boxers. They are the closest living relatives of the dogs the DNA is reading. Those being the old white english and Spanish bulldog/iberian mastiffs
All three of them couldn't be descended/mixed from the Bullenbeisser?
@@wargriffin5 bullenbeiser = spanish bulldog. Am bulldog have some bullenbeiser in them, but the original white english was a separate bulldog strain. Look the up mastiffs from the iberian peninsula. All those dogs have a common ancestor
Proud to own a boerbol couple 🤩
attiq Rehman I own a male Boerboel myself. He’s 13 months old. Best breed ever!
@@Repti1982wow so nice.
Mine are 16months
Boerboel ears are not suppose to be cropped (never even seen one like that) but tails yes- docked.
The dogs in this video should be called "american" boerboel! They look nothing like the dog my neighbor had!
The Chosen maybe your neighbors dogs weren’t legit boerbols.
Long leg Boerboels are much more slim and lanky compared to the standard Boerboel
@@thelouiebrand It was a boerboel and followed the breed standard to a Tee.
@@troycampbell7131 boerboels are not supposed to be long legged. They are meant to be thick and yet agile for their size. Boerboels are built for power, speed is just an addition.
Benet Asuku WRONG
These are LONG LEG Boerboels not Boerboels. Two different dogs.
david gonzalez are you dumb? That’s like calling a Doberman pinched and miniature pincher the same breed. If I had a slope back German Shepard I’m going to call it a slope back German Shepard, if I had a long haired German Shepard I’m going to call it a long haired German Shepard
I thought they were the same, just long leg, standard leg
@ There is hound, bulldog and mastiff type but bulldog type should be avoided at all time. We don't wanna breed back to bullmastiffs
@ Terrier type is not a Boerboel type ;-)
david gonzalez you’re as dumb as a rock and it shows.
Documentary, a suggestion for your next, mastiff dogumentary feature the Broholmer breed.
Another,rare mastiff speciman .
how to make a working dog into a show dog - give it to the americans
im being hyperbolic ofc chill
lots of great dogs in the US ofc
- but you get what I mean - I got a tonn of examples - like the Irish setter a working dog turned into a joke in america - not all, chill again
women breeding working dogs - yeah ok - thats not turning into a show dog in two seconds
my dogs dad is a straight from Africa coming boerboel breed. So my dog still has his hunting mutations
Thanks for this video Zeke, love looking back and seeing my BBs in your videos. Great story and accurate content.
Its funny because the boerboel looks like the Old bullmastiff from around 1900- 1930
These are the smallest boerbulls I've ever seen. Please come to Namibia and South Africa 😂😂😂😂 now those are Boerbulls.

Jaa I was just thinking the same thing 😂
Warren Roberts around 150-180 for a large male but not really any bigger
AKC ruined dog breeds
These are real working size boerboels. Those giant 200lb boerboels can't work a day on a farm
Rate this boerboel

She checked to see if he has 2 balls since a missing one is a disqualification
She was saying" one, it has one vagina"
I chuckled a little bit when she said the bitches . I know that what they called females dogs just in case someone writes in the comments. I was watching something on tv and was caught off guard.
🙂
Really Really Great video. Thank you so much.

Thank you for all the advice 🫶🙏
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
I am picking up a rottweiler puppy in 6 days. The puppy have been mostly been eating canned food (wet fod) will it upset its tummy if i change its diet to kibble. ?
Yes just go raw you can buy everything at the grocery store
Whatever you choose to switch too, you need to slowly transition it by mixing it's old food with the new food and decreasing the old food day by day with the new food.
Puppies sometimes have roller coaster stomaches regardless of what you feed lol just transition over a couple of days to whatever you choose to feed.
Thanks so much 🙏👍🏻
I just recently purchased a black one. Im the only person in the town with a black boerboel.
dont judge them by the color of their coat, but by the content of their character.
Enzino agreed
I got a black female, and I've seen a lot of negative feedback from some breeders about the blacks. She's an awesome example of the breed and a great dog, what more could you want. AKC is all about money. Happy days.
Shit if a black boerboel, parents are fawn colored. Does it make him any less of a boerbeol still?
scotty Dees yea akc is full of shit I could care less for their standards
My Boerboel is a beautiful example of the breed
Boerboels in America looks smaller that the ones we have here in South Africa
That boerboel is about 6 to 8 months old.

Definitely alot smaller than my boerboels
@@SJ-wu9zx I'm generalising not that one in particular but every one I've seen.
I mean go look up Terrible twins Boerboels. They are lions. No black Boerboels, bred to the African standards.
@@SexualAssaultRifle WTF??? WHY?
Why did she say definitely no yellow eyes?
Best man, best Training ever. Thanks a lot🤩🤩🤩👍
Show dog standards suck
Yes ma guy finally✊🏾
So if a litter from the same parents had one black puppy, it would be a different breed? I feel sad for this hypothetical black puppy...
Black boerboels have a dominant black gene. Meaning one of the parents has to be black for the color to occur in the puppies.
If you have bred Boerboels for 10 years like me.
If there was a black puppy in the litter it means one of the parents line was fuvked up somewhere
What are your opinions on finding a Boerboel Rescue as opposed to going to a breeder? I would love to give a good dog a loving home but on the other hand I want something genetically sound that I could raise on my own.
Thanks Kyle...
I keep being telling that mine was a canecorso mix bullmastiff. Bullmastiff are way "fatter-style" than mine, and canecorso are mostly black. (oh... that's the one next to me on my user-pic/icon)
Can a blood/dna-test show which race mine is?
Yes, embark comes to my mind right now
Beautiful dog!
Amazing dogs 😍
Make a video on border terriers please!!
I second this!
so many rules just to be a dog..........sounds a bit fucked up to me.
People are ruining dogs with these shows and akc "standards"
Hey no swearing
And as someone who lives in South Africa, I can tell you that most of the dogs in this video are not true boerboels, they are an americanised version but not a true suid afrikanse boerboel
None of the dogs used to create a boerboel were black. In my opinion the black boerboel is different than the one that's recognized by the akc.
what if farmers bread black for night work? We were not with them in 1900?
Even in America, they are less common. It's also not that unthinkable, given the hodge podge of native South African dogs, English, Dutch, and French dogs, that ancestored boerboel, in addition to who knows what else, that some mix of genetics would produce pure breed blackness rarely. It's also not that absurd to suggest black dogs were removed from liters in historic south Africa, a trend we moved away from earlier in America.
"Dog racism" are two words I never thought I'd say back to back but here we are. 🤣
They generally come from people crossing them with cane corsos for size and colour
@10:06 she stated "oh you have nice dog, I have a nice dog let's breed them. And that's how a breed gets ruined" she said that after saying it took 10? Breeds to make a Boerboel.
