    In this Illustrator tutorial, you’ll learn how to design a flat illustration inspired by the mushroom in Super Mario in just a few steps, including adding texture to it using a grain brush.
    Download your 23 GRAIN BRUSH BUNDLE for Illustrator and Photoshop here: cosminserban.gumroad.com/l/hc...
    The first step is to start with a rough sketch in Procreate or on a piece of paper where you can explore your creativity.
    If you want to follow along with this tutorial, you can download the exercise files which includes the sketch and the grain brush for Illustrator here:
    www.cosminserban.com/download-...
    Join the waitlist for my upcoming "Character Vector Illustration for Beginners" Illustrator course and get a big discount at launch: www.cosminserban.com/course-l...
    The second step is to design the shapes that make up the flat illustration.
    Usually, I tend to use the Pen tool for everything, but for this tutorial, I’d suggest trying to use the Ellipse tool.
    Keep in mind that the sketch is only there for guidance, you shouldn’t try to replicate it perfectly, it
    The next step is adding dimension to the flat illustration, but for that, we need to create a grain brush.
    In the previous tutorial, I’ve started defining it using three random shapes, for this one I will use four.
    My preferred method of shading in Illustrator is pretty straightforward, apply the color of the shape that’s below the one you’re shading on, giving the impression that it's blending. When you have a stronger color behind, it will look like a shadow, when you have a lighter color, it will look like a highlight.
    Color scheme:
    - Purple: 301069
    - Darker Pink: cd376e
    - Lighter Pink: f2a0a8

    Hi, nice pack, but for information the back you used is not 100% RGB black so its works well in CMYK but in RGB the stroke with your brush will be lighter than the fill with the same color below! Hope its helps you improve your pack.
    Cheers

    • @CosminSerbanDesign
      @CosminSerbanDesign  4 года назад

      Thanks for pointing it out, I'll have to try and see - so if I create the brush with 100% black from default the shade of the color applied won't be affected, right?

    • @shureoner
      @shureoner 4 года назад

      @@CosminSerbanDesign I guess i should do the trick,for for example put your actual brushes ( the free ones) in a RGB document, do a square with 100% RGB black, then do a stroke with your brushes on it, the tint is greyish not black, then convert this same stroke with any regular illustrator brush and it will match the square's color.
      I'm not an Adobe technician i'm just a regular designer so it's only my opinion. I never had trouble with other grain brushes like the gigantic one for example but i found youres interesting so i tried to fix it. Again this is for the free pack brush, maybe on youre gumroad arcadian pack it's fixed.
