I've never thought about nitrous but now I'm thinking about it. I've always been told that it can wear down your engine really quick. Are there any upgrades that are needed to add this kit? I would love this to be on my daily for when I want to really let loose.
Lots of fun ran it for years on my 88. Then found myself refilling twice a week and then went FI. Nice video got me thinking of spaying a 50 shot threw the 17gt whipple ;)

Man I would get a tune. I know people who have blown up there stuff by not pulling enough timing at wot and then I have seen people spray the house down without a tune.

Hell ya it's About time someone else put nitrous on their S550! I subscribed just because of that. I've been running a 150 shot w/ E85 on my 2016 for almost a year now and have gone through 200 lbs of spray with zero issues, dispelling the myth about nitrous.... So yes it's safe when done right just like any other power adder. I'd even say it's safer than F.I because your driving a naturally aspirated car 99% of the time with nitrous. Only morons doing stupid shit blow their manifolds off.. Serpent Stang does remind of the Punisher on Netflix

I ran nitrous for years back in the day before I switched to forced induction. Fairly safe up to 250 shot. I started having issues with it after that. And I bracket raced a lot and it was very inconsistent. Once I switched to forced induction I was much happier having instant power all the time without messing with swapping bottles. It is cheap and fun though. I won a lot of money back in the day with a few sleepers I had on the street. Also, I ran a momentary switch with mine.
@Andrew V I haven't ran nitrous since 2001. Was no coyotes then. Lol. I would imagine a coyote could handle 250 shot. I've ran more than that on way weaker platforms

@Andrew V I havent ran nitrous on a coyote mustang though im certain it will handle it. Back in the day as in Fox body mustangs, Capri and Mustang II Cobras and also a few Fairmonts
@@airwave098 the switch was wired to a positive wire and to the nitrous solenoids. This wasn't on my coyotes. This was back in the day on fox bodies and a few other carbureted vehicles.
@@SILVERCHARGEDS I gotcha. I just got done wiring mine. The way I wired it was this: power wire from switched power source going to the an arming switch, from the arming switch connected to one of the wires of the momentary switch, then the other wire of the switch attaches to the WOT switch then the wot switch to the relay that connects to the solenoids.
Great video gentlemen!!! I just ordered my wet nitrous kit (including purge kit, pressure gauge, and bottle heater) yesterday from American Muscle. It’s scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. I’m soooo looking forward to adding this mod. I’ve been contemplating it for a couple years. Finally got the courage a few months ago…thanks to some advice from my old Army buddy. I’ve watched several videos over the past couple days. I’ve been hearing pretty frequently that a tune is not needed for anything that’s 100 shot or less. @Serpent Stang…what is your view on that??? I know that you weren’t running a tune in this video, but, in general, would you agree? Thanks in advance. I hope all is well fellas. Holla.

What was his bottle pressure? If it was low, he was maybe only getting 50 rwhp. I was always a nitrous junkie with my 02'SS Ls1 and 93 347 notch. My Ls1 f- bodys with drag radials and a 125 dry shot went 11.60s-11.80s @117-120 mph. Would love to get a 100 shot on my 12' GT N/A automatic that goes 11.70 @117. Will be all in the 10s. ..Zander, he needs some DRs and hit it from a roll with 900 psi of bottle pressure. You'll 💩 your pants. It's totally different than hitting it at highway speeds.

Disagree, nitrous is like warp speed with lighter cars like the fox body mustangs with a bigger shot, activated at lower RPM. It’s definitely visceral

So in your video with Zander nitrous would come on at 4500rpm. At the track on launch a safe rpm would be at 4000rpm since I will be in first gear with my 6R80. Thanks!
Hate to be that guy but he should REALLY consider running the supporting mods. Fuel pump booster, bottle heater, different injectors, maybe different spark plugs.
LightningBlueMeanie Boost a pump is not necessary until 150 shot or higher. I’ll most likely be going stand alone fuel cell by then. Different injectors would only benefit a dry system, this is a wet system. I did change to 2 step colder plugs which I mentioned in the video. And planning to add the heater and gauge on the next refill.
Why only a 100 and say you can barely feel it, add a tc and add the nitrous out of the hole with a 150 shot and you’ll really feel how it pushes you in the seat and you gona scream !!!

Watching on my phone. I love nitrous, funny to hear you say nitrous virgin, lol. He said 90% of the problems is misuse, I wouldn't disagree, but to me, having done a nitrous set up on a high revving Ford already, its really more like 90% of the problems come from lack of good maintenance. Solenoids stick, and fail, I lost #1 cylinder by melting the tip off the plug with my set up because of that. Nothing like breaking what was then a several thousand dollar Yamaha 3.2 L.
Here come all the people complaining they blew their engine because they copied this set up but completely forgot that he changed fuel and they think this is good on pump gas with no tune to compensate. I would be interested in seeing his wideband reading during the hit or a catalog.
S550_Mason _ Yes, good point. And I have stressed to everyone that has asked me about not having a tune that you need higher octane fuel and colder plugs. Also to keep it under a 100 shot. If you watch my 50 shot video (Time to let the Big dog eat) you can get a glimpse of the wideband reading on the dash during the hits. Thanks for watching!

Be careful with spraying, we had an 18 Mustang with a piston thrown in the intake. Warranty did cover it however.
Without a doubt they were spraying, the tech knew who owned it.

The full kit with a bottle is $750. I added the window switch for added safety which would bring you to just under $1000. Nothing else is needed. A blower or twin turbo setup cost 6-10k, so not to be rude but it's far from the same price.
Serpent Stangs I plan on running Separate fuel system if I ran nitrous. It’s around$ 2500 then the kit I was looking at was 900 install tune I know the tune is close to 1000 bucks. I don’t install myself. Sure the install is around 1000 to 1500 bucks. Then buying bottle refills I should get over 100 passes this year at the track. Think 10 lbs bottles cost 80 bucks to refill I believe. I agree with you about nitrous being a good adder when done correct.
Underfedcoyote Fran Yes, but if you’re adding install cost and tuning then you have to add that to the blower/turbo setup too. Watch Zander’s video on the supercharged rental mustang. The owner spent 14k for his whipple kit after tuning and paying to install. Only thing he added was headers so take away about $1500. Bottom line is for a blower/turbo kit plus installation and tuning you’re looking at 10 grand. I’d install this kit on anyone’s car with a stand alone fuel cell included for $2500 parts and labor included. With that you could easily do 150 shot without pulling timing or tuning. I pay $50 a bottle for nitrous which I agree can get expensive if you make a ton of passes. Back in the day I just rented my own 75 or 80lb tank and filled my own bottle. Cost less than $2.00 a pound that way. All that said, I’d take a blower/or turbo over nitrous any day. But the cost advantages of nitrous is unrivaled. And I wanted to do something on the channel nobody else is.
Serpent Stangs ya TT Kit I’m looking at is around 15k installed the nitrous is close to 6k labor is expensive. I live in Vegas I don’t have connections shop rates are crazy an long waits

A tune is legal... you car can be impounded for a NOS system depending on state. It I'd illegal in all 50... just an fyi
Jeremy Winslow actually u can have nitrous on car just can't be used on street Ford focus svt could be special ordered with NOS from factory actually pretty crazy I had 08 gt mustang with a 100 shot zex kit bought car brand new had kit on from day 1 sold car with 70 thousand miles never had a problem and I beet the shit out of it all the time only changed plugs 3 times
I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but, where is your bottle heater? If you really want that push you in the seat feeling you have to warm the bottle to 900 - 1000 psi. I'm going to guess that you only had anywhere from 650-750 psi, not good. Also N2O hits harder in the lower rpms. Even though you guys felt something on the hit, I guarantee it was nothing compared to an actual 950 psi warm bottle 3500 rpm kick in your butt. Sorry for the long post but, I don't want to see a nitrous gone wrong vid from Serpent Stang. Done right he can use that 200 shot to put that car in the low 9s.
forcedair 92gt I’m definitely adding a heater and gauge on the next refill. For now I used a propane torch to warm the bottle. Granted I did not have a gauge on the bottle so I was conservative in heating it and I would say your pressure estimate is about right. Lower bottle pressure makes for a richer hit which is safer than testing on high bottle pressure right away. As far as the 5000 Rpm activation, that was done solely for the sake of exhibiting the actual nitrous hitting on video. Yes it hits much harder down low but it just spins with the street tires on an un-prepped surface.

Would a dealership be able to see that the car is on nitrous? If you took everything off. I guess would the computer show something?
I suppose they could if they knew to look for evidence of nitrous use. Like the holes drilled in the trunk to mount the bottle for example. If you don't flash the computer, and you removed the entire system, they would have no reason to suspect anything.

Nitrous is the worst power adder. Too many switches and bottles run out anc you need heater for bottles and extra gauges....etc..Plus its an insane sudden jolt on your engine compared to forced induction. Just a poor man's power adder if you don't give a fck about your expensive motor. Save for a blower or just switch to e85. Nitrous is a cheap pos power adder and numerous engines it has destroyed.
