I Noah Thomas, the creator of this channel, have been diagnosed hypogonadism by a medical doctor and legally prescribed the medically indicated treatment of Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
    My Story
My name is Noah and on May 18 2011, I had a rare reaction to a medication called VIVITROL and consequently, spiraled into a suicidal depression with depersonalization and anxiety. I lost 25 lbs in 4 weeks and was in full panic or near panic for 8 weeks straight mixed with the darkest most painful depression I cold have ever imagined. I immediately could not work and had to move in with my parents who, along with many siblings and friends, had to watch me 24/7 as I was a danger to myself. Eventually I was hospitalized in the Psych Ward for a week. Getting through each day seemed truly unbearable and I knew I would surely die. I have been put on many many different doctor prescribed SSRI's SNRI's Tricyclics, mood stabilizers, anti-psychotics, holistic meds, acupuncture and even a form of shock therapy called RTMS. I barely saw any improvement in my condition for a full year. It was decided I had treatment resistant depression and I spent nearly every moment in tears. Weeks after starting my newest round of medications (Seroquel & Nortryptaline) as a last ditch effort, I had my blood drawn for possible hormone imbalances and my Testosterone levels came back 200 ng/Dl and 150 ng/Dl. The average 25 year old male has 750 ng/Dl. With this discovery I had an explanation as to why I was not getting better and why I might be so so sick. The symptoms of Low T are very similar to those of major depression. I started legally prescribed testosterone replacement therapy soon after and have been checking in with the world and documenting my experience with treatment as well as giving my insight and perspective on various topics of mental health. I am blessed to say that I have slowly, over the last 6 years, been improving and becoming more stable which I never thought to be possible. My low T manifested itself in the form of Major depression, anxiety, and depersonalization/ derealization for over a year. Treating my low testosterone has been 1 HUGE part of the puzzle but I have had to continue to work hard to hold on to my mental stability with many set backs. Gaining some mental stability back is nothing short of a miracle as I was near death for what felt like forever. I do not consider myself to be totally healed yet but I am closer now then ever before and aim to use what I have been through to help or at least offer support to others in need I was able to successfully come off my Seroquel and Pamelor.
I work out all the time as a part of my mental health recovery!!! Weight training and all kinds of cardio rule much of my free time and I also share this on my channel.

Noah I love you and I really want you to consider this:
Your mood has gone up and down noticeably video to video. I really recommend getting a second opinion on the bipolar disorder diagnosis. The medications can be life changing and reduce your need to self medicate.
    Cheers!

Psychiatrist who very plainly confirmed but I do not meet the criteria bipolar one or two has known me worked with me and seen me both online and in person in many different stretches of my life for over 10 years. I’m completely confident in his professional capabilities. But I think your comment comes from a good place and perhaps only seeing a few minutes of my life week to week depending on the topic for what I want to talk about might lead to thinking what are you thinking. You see my highs and lows. I rarely share the 99% in between.

@@bignoknow That’s awesome! I’m glad you got evaluated and ruled it out.
I know you don’t like unsolicited advice, but I also know how powerful medication can be for bipolar disorder, so I threw it out there because I thought I saw some signs of it.
Best of luck in your recovery!

I haven't noticed any abnormal mood swings. Just completely normal moods of someone going through the highs & lows of recovery when faced with new emotions while newly in recovery, & through exploration & re-exploration with fresh eyes of different "traditional' recovery approaches & effective routines & new approaches. I very much appreciate Noah's willingness to show us his vulnerabilities & higher and lower moments. We all have those. It is just that many people aren't willing to share them in a public way. They are slices of life moments.:)

Melatonin causes my depression to skyrocket, I’ve read that they might add a warning to melatonin because of depression/ aggression in males in particular. It is an unregulated hormone, hormones can be different for everyone. See if you see a difference on/off of it. I would’ve checked into a psych ward if I didn’t figure out why I was getting worse.

Everyone has to find what works and what clicks for them. We're not all the same so that won't be the same for everyone.
As for me, sick of being sick with no end in sight. Just wanting to give up today. There's a lot of days like that.

I totally get it Noah - I have had major depressive disorder and anxiety for my whole life - I’ve been very emotional all day - I got laid off my job on october 15th 3 days after going back to work on October 12 th , . I had just came back to my job after being on a leave of absence since April 6 th where I relapsed and was in detox / inpatient in New Jersey , then was sent to California to a sober living apartment for 2 1/2 months , then came home on July 15 th and was in a virtual program with Spring Hill recovery in Boston - completed that program just on oct 11 th went back to work and slammed by my job getting laid off ( other people did too ) didn’t make it easier - just feels wrong - like they discriminated - I was on a disability leave of absence . Just been struggling with my recovery - I have 202 days today but hanging by a thread . Don’t love” aa “

Hello Noah, I used to watch your videos long time ago, and found you again. I was on TRT for 8 years, but the doctor stopped the therapy because it was affecting my kidney and he said I was at risk of having a heart attack. I hope you are doing well with your TRT. I was lucky to have a son, who means the world to me. Have you thought of having a kid or adopting one? when our parents go to heaven, children are the ones that give us reason to keep going. I lost my beautiful mother last year and if it wasn't for my son and wife, I would be so depressed.
I wish the best to you and your family and thank you for all your videos.

Good day Noah, good to hear the bugs have gone. You mentioned briefly the relapse in this video, is it fair to call it a relapse now having gone as far as you have. Is the relapse really just an occasional drink that healthy people can enjoy? Everything in moderation as my mum says. Im intrigued by this aspect of your recovery as I'm going sober from Saturday and it scares the shit out of me to think of relapses in years time, your in control of alcohol now not the other way round, right? I'm dreading the initial pain but the negatives have taken over for me so got to and going to do it. Thanks for sharing it's inspirational

What an awesome & helpful share -- to see your recovery exploration & seeing you be completely okay with wherever it takes you, even if it is back to the more "traditional" path you were on. Even if it does, you (& we) will be much enriched from the exploration, and I am sure there may be pieces from this journey you can add to your toolbox. And, if the exploration leads to new paths & approaches, then you (& we) will be enriched from the exploration & newly gained insights. Win-win, either way.
Thank you so much for publicly sharing this much needed public exploration & investigation into recovery approaches!
Also, great to hear you've found a morning routine that is working for you. Perhaps a walk-through of your morning routine could be the subject of a future video.🙂

Great to see you doing well and thanks for sharing. You really have a strong mom willing to do some thing that most people at the age will never think of doing it along with all the issues she is facing so wanting to give her a big hug. I can’t even motivate my mom to visit the doctor where she have been sick for so long she just don’t tell me what’s her problems. ( is not the virus have done the self test) I don’t know, have been feeling lazy for the past week have no motivation doing any thing but also school have so much going on, don’t know what to do just wanna sleep my day off but also so much project & assignment have to do. I should be doing my school work but some how i end up watching your video. Is a nice video you look better too keep going yeah is hard but you will get there love you.

Glad you're in a program! Hope it works out for you. I have a friend that was very into drugs that turned his life around from a program (at least his social media persona says that, don't fall trap to lying to yourself). I have a question for you.. I'm 99% likely to start TRT in November.. What is it like drinking while on TRT? Is there major side effects? While I am actually planning on stopping my "casual" drinking when I start, which I am sure you may have though too., I just want to prepare myself fully. Part of me feels like alcohol addiction can grow on me, simply because of the lack of energy levels I have (probably from the low T) and oddly enough, the alcohol masks the fatigue which doesn't make sense since it is a depressant. Hoping I can curb those cravings.

I'm on the same page regarding these extremely leaky vaccines that cause a lot of harm. Everybody should get a Complete Blood Count with differentials & expanded CD4, CD8, CD19 & Natural Killer Cell panel before vaccination & after each shot/booster to get a true representation of the immune system over the course of vaccination, rather than merely a standard CBC test (which most people don't even bother getting). DATA is SCIENCE. If the powers that be won't focus on recommending such testing & collection of this data, then doctors & patients should. It is very important to find out how the vaccines affect T-Cell levels, which some reports are indicating that the vaccines may lower certain T-Cells. And, some reporting indicates that if a person gets COVID-19 after vaccination, then they have lower Nucleocapsid antibody levels. These are investigational vaccines & those who take it are the guinea pigs.
