What a wonderful video of my former railroad before I switched and started running out across town. The great thing about this video was all the trains arriving at the station.
Back when I drove a line bus from Montauk to Manhatten its a long ride In NYC we went north to 72nd Street back down Lexington and back to Montauk than I had to go back to the yard check out the bus. And go back to my place in Sayreville. When I got back slept for 40 hours. When I went back to the company got fired. Peopled not realized how large li really is but I do now Good penn video
The train arriving at 4:03 at NY Penn was the 3:25 express from New Brunswick. The DM30ACs will go electric mode from Huntington westbound Eastbound to end electric mode at Huntington exit 49 I-495 towards Port Jefferson. The Far Rockaway is 8 cars because Atlantic Terminal is not able to hold 10-12 car trains M7 M3 & M9s. All Penn Station & Grand Central trains are 8-12 car trains
So many things going on at Penn Station Central Control , amazing Dispatchers, and Console Operators…Yardmasters, and Supervisors..all working together as a TEAM…
At 9:00, what do the 4-5 colored lights next to the car number mean? I'm guessing the big blue one means "power on", but the amber and others? Seeing them change at 9:45 suggests to me that they mirror the state of the train's motion.
I've noticed in many of your excellent videos that a lot of people ride the LIRR unmasked. I have not seen this on Amtrak or even Metro North. Is that your perception?

Love this view from the tracks! Always lots of action at Penn Station!
Action? 🤔
Meaning trains entering and exiting!? My goodness, you people are absolute fools.

They represent the current state of the train breaks, such as released, applied, fully applied etc
Nice catches of Amtrak, NJT, & LIRR think you can do a PM Rush video at Harlem 125th street ?
Sounds like a good idea
@@3985uprr The best times for 125 are from 3:30 to 6:30pm.
Cool intro
Im so lucky to ride the diesels every day
I think the lady might of missed her train. Damn that sucks. 18:39
Thank you for your Work and Knowledge...Great Job as always..Have you done Wash/DC Video assignment ?
What specifically?
The dual mode diesels operating on 3rd rail power are much quieter in this mode. You could easily call these Dual Mode Diesels hybrid diesels.
Do you know the length of those cars at 2:57? The LIRR cars are 85ft long but those NJT cars look much longer.
Awesome video!!! Did they not chase you from down there??
No problem thus far. Keeping my fingers crossed.
You just missed my train that leaves at 5:55. Maybe I'll make the cut next time. Haha.
Hard to get everything
good look
7:23 Did I just hear the R179 PA bell?
I've noticed in many of your excellent videos that a lot of people ride the LIRR unmasked. I have not seen this on Amtrak or even Metro North. Is that your perception?
There are quite a few but lately more are masked. They are more concerned about omicron. I always wear one.
What platform was this recorded on?
How do you know where the train is coming from?
Research and railfan tips
How do you know the number of the train before it arrives?
A number of websites i use. Sone selectivity is involved. Trial and error. Some just on experience in operating patterns. No easy answer there
Very surprised you weren't kicked out by the police for filming haha
like train
How do you record there? I got kicked out
Ilove
hi im going to new york soon and i want to film trains here so i have some questions first of all how do you get there and 2nd what platform are u on
I like tracks 7-8-9-10. There are many stairways all over to track level
@@3985uprr what about Amtrak that's the stuff I like
@@theaustraliantrainspotter there’s plenty of that in Penn Station. They generally use tracks ranging from six on up to around 14.

How are you able to film in Penn Station without getting in trouble with Amtrak/MTA/NJT police?
