Amazing station. Its been almost a year since i was there. I take the train from Hamilton NJ on the Corridor up to NYC from time to time. Hoping to do it again when the pandemic is over.
Seeing a dual-mode Genesis on a long-distance train makes me hope that a locomotive similar to the ALP45DP handles the long-distance trains into New York Penn on the entire route
@@monder1060 Empire corridor services, the Maple Leaf, Ethan Allen, and Lake Shore Limited run using P32AC-DMs into Penn. I believe they were rerouted to GCT due to track work in the Empire connection tunnel, but now they're back to running into Penn. Feel free to correct me if you know better.
On a side note, aren't those Amtrak cars and loco wider than the average New York subway? or I could be wrong. I've seen the Acela loco in person and they are huge machines. They sure can't fit in the common NYC subway track system height wise.
Bassotronics its not the subway track system. the subway tracks are built above the amtrak, lirr, and NJT concourse. Those trains are wider, which is why they run on separate tracks
Amtrak has transitioned from serving Pepsi to Coca-Cola beverages on board their trains. The wrap was applied to #606 in November of last year to commemorate this. From what I've heard, the Coca-Cola wrap was removed in late January.
I agree. In this case it's a product you like but what happens when we get the negligence lawyer ads all over it just like the buses. How about a Trojan ad where the Locomotive is decorated like a giant condom. Do you want to see that heading for the tunnel on your ride home every night? I'm okay with the commemorative and memorial ones but not the blatant ads for non railroad related products and services.
K.H.D. Official, the third rails are for the P32AC-DM and Long Island Rail Road. The power lines are used for Northeast Corridor Trains, the 3rd rails are used for empire corridor and LIRR.

Those were P32AC-DM'S. They can go underground because they can run on electric mode as well. The P42DC is only diesel. Trains such as the Maple Leaf, Adirondack and Lake Shore Limited switch from the P32AC-DM to the P42DC locomotive at Albany Rensselaer station.
Those are some ugly looking trains 🤮 Tiny windows and corrugated steel sides. And what’s with the bell ringing? Is this out of the 19th century? Is this a station or a tunnel?
This is an underground station. At the expense of the bell, I noticed that in the United States they often go with it, perhaps this is some kind of security requirements, I wonder why this bell is constantly working.
Hey!We were the railfans at the other side! You could see me in the blue jacket a bit
Mark in the video
Great. Thanks for sharing! I used to go in/out of Penn station for decades. East to Long Island. West to New Jersey, Washington and Florida!
Amazing station. Its been almost a year since i was there. I take the train from Hamilton NJ on the Corridor up to NYC from time to time. Hoping to do it again when the pandemic is over.
That first NJT train. 12 cars. "Standing Room Only". That's rush hour.
Ok. Thought it was me. 12 Arrow cars? Wow!
I was wanting to know how many MU’s... obviously, that train is needed..
Nice Video! You Rock

That would be cool.
Nice video man . You know you gotta love those Arrow III's amazing footage man . Have an amazing day
Most awesome vid!!!!! Sweet Catch!!!!!!
Great catches!
Nice video, I saw my friends on the other platform lol.
When
Love going to the end of the platform by Hudson yards!
Love it!!
Good job on the video! Keep up the good work
Excellent footage 💕💕💕💕❤️❤️❤️😀😀😀👍👍👌👌👌
4:40 Coca -Cola Unit!
Pepsi Sprinter, nice. (We need that for Train Simulator!!!)
I feel like I need a shower just from watching this
Love seeing the new concourse from here.
@5:38 you know these p42's engines are LOUD!!!! I filmed one before,,, kept jumping everytime it horned..... lol
It's a dual-mode version of the P42 called the P32AC-DM.
*insert actually funny joke about the ACS-64 in coke livery here*
At 4:37 What track did that red-engined train come in on? I thought it was cool how it zig-zagged around the end of the platform.
And now 706 is the last P32 AC-DM in the phase V phase
Coke; I'll drink the magic!
I'm surprised those P32AC-DM'S still have that scheme. I thought they repainted them with the phase ii scheme.
what lines are they running to Penn station? I thought they were mainly going to Grand Central

Ford Escape some were repainted but I have seen a few that haven’t been repainted yet
Josef Stalin i think the P32s going to niagara falls that travel on the hudson line are there too right?

Is the first train the north Hutson line from the Movie "The Commuter"?
👍🏻 bel video

I think it is.

NYPenn isn't part of the subway system. The station, rails and tunnels are designed for heavier passenger rail.
5:36 did that engine on that P32 just startup?
Dat first metal train tho... I call it the retro train
(I saw a badge in it saying it was remodeled in the late 80s
Josh LeRose it’s an arrow iii
Sponsored by Coca Cola?!
Just like the wraps on the NYC subway cars. It's an income from advertising money. Now I'm waiting to see all the cars with ad wraps on them.
Yari C yup

How did you get down there without being stopped for a pass/ticket?
U don’t need a ticket to enter a station, it’s not an airport
I like when they make NJ transit AC 64
ACS-64 in Coca Cola motif. That's different
I just hope they keep 606 in the Coca-Cola scheme because it looks good
Sadly, it was repainted back into Phase V.
First time i seen the window from the street. 0:30
I dont know why but I love every fucking underground station. Moreover if its small and cozy
6:23 that looks a lot like me...wait that IS me😂
How much did you pay?
I'm surprised the arrow III are still around and im happy that they are
They'll be replaced soon.
@@andreware2039 by what?
They are under attack by the MultiLevel III. Pretty much an EMU version of your friendly Bombardier Bi-levels we you every day on NJT.
For some reason coca cola likes branding trains a lot. They even painted some light rail trains in my city of Dallas.
They only did it probably because Amtrak switched its soft drink contract from Pepsi to Coke last year.
Can you be allowed on to the platforms with out a ticket
Technically, no, but unless you're clearly loitering, they rarely check or care.
They seem rare
The ads are gross. Part of the new Amtrak boss' plan
I think it looks pretty epic

I like the coca cola adds thought. It makes them as special edition.
I think it's cool!
Hmm I want soda

They didn't unwrap 606? I remember people saying Jan 5 it was being unwrapped.
It is repainted now.
Sorry but feeling like watching a horror movie
Why do the trains need to bell when entering the station?
Letting everyone know that the train is at slow speed.
@@anthonylauro5711 😂👌🏻
connectingwings, the bells are used when approaching a station. Also, New York Penn is a no horn zone so they use bells at all times.
4:38 I literally saw that locomotive in a magazine just the other day
cocca cola with german Siemens Powercar very cool
Super Made from Siemens 🇪🇺 Germany🙊🙈🙉😂😜

Third rail and overhead powerlines at once?
Some locomotives and EMU's, mainly LIRR trains use third rail power, whereas NJT and Amtrak locomotives use overhead caternary.
K.H.D. Official, the third rails are for the P32AC-DM and Long Island Rail Road. The power lines are used for Northeast Corridor Trains, the 3rd rails are used for empire corridor and LIRR.
I remember i got flipped off in penn
Why do American trains have that bell?
It's a Graham White E-bell.
2 months prior to lockdown
They haven’t retired the Arrow iii ??
Nope.
Narrow platforms, look dangerous.

Me a Septa fan: WHORE!!
It's an Arrow III, actually.

2:41 What the hell is that diesel engine doing at Penn station?
And why does that diesel have an electrical pick up?
@@Tsurnari It is a dual mode called a P32AC-DM, not a P42DC.
When did Amtrak start ad-wrapping their locos? Those Coca Cola-emblazoned ACS-64s don't sit right with me...
What was the reason for the P42 to travel into the station when that’s prohibited?
that was a p32
That was an Amtrak P32 duel mode (Diesel/3rd rail)

Ford Escape very informative! I just ride the Amtrak Adirondack line, train 69
It wasnt a P42. It was a P32 AC/DM which usually run on the Empire Corridor up to Albany where then they are switched over to P42s.
잉?
Why are you guys ringing a fucking bell? Is it 1890?
