TARANTULA - Unit Spotlight

- In this short spotlight video we see what the new Mechabellum unit; Tarantula is capable of. You can see how the technologies work.
The Tarantula is a new 200-cost unit which specializes in clearing chaff. It's also very tanky and it's drawback is that it's a one unit squad than can be easily targeted by big damage dealers.

me playing couple games with the new TARANTULA unit: ruclips.net/video/I8ZgHFlOaW8/видео.html
I was hoping for a new small chaff unit so it wouldn't be fangs and crawlers every game
me too! They said a while ago they are working on a 100 cost unit that is chaff itself but its role is also to clear chaff
@@SurreyEZso like fangs with flamethrowers?
@@TheManyVoicesVA one can only guess !
My prediction is... something with longer range than fangs, and maybe floating movement to make them take less damage from fire? Crawlers have tunneling, fangs have shields, so the new chaff on the block would need something also for defense.
@@Isvoor maybe the armor tech to take less damage from small hits?
The baneling meta has reached Mechabellum. Es ist över.
also vulture from sc1 had spider mines
@@SurreyEZ that was my first thought as well, they work a bit differently tho
I love how creative bearlike is always creating awesome new units. The spidermines seem so cool
So it's a big arclight. Cool lol. The mines seem interesting.😊
lol, cute how the small ones move
Q&A with Woof Factory, the great maker of woofs (loosely translated):
Q: "What do you think of the Tarantula?"
A: "Looks tasty"
Sounds like someone's ready for a spider course meal!
New carry arclight just dropped😂
Looks fun though
It looks like it does everything, I'm gonna mass tarantulas with 4 upgrades.
Yeah, at first glance it seems like it replaces everything. Dont need Vulcans for chaff, I have Tarantulas. Don't need mustangs for Wasps, I have Tarantulas. Don't need heavy anti ground, I have Tarantulas.
Obviously it will all be about how they tune the numbers but just on paper, why wouldn't you buy these?
*cough* steel balls
@ZymethShinsey could be. I can't be sure till I see tuning. If a single spider mine wipes out a squad of balls then it's a problem.
I will say I watched my first match of them being used since posting this and the mines do deploy fairly slowly and the firing rate of the tarantula itself isn't incredibly fast base line. Hackers and Melters were still doing work to them.
@@Hypa14the mines do 3000 so it won’t. And it’s only 9m explosion so it won’t hit all 4.
@@evancobb6829 good to know. Thanks for the info.
Only 200 cost for a 3x3 heavy chaff clear? Vulcans were struggling before they 'bout to be irrelevant! Plus that dakka dakka cannon sound is supreme.
Beep boop. I'm doing my part
This game has so many cool mechs design ngl.
yes! My favourite is probably the scorpion with acid and siege mode. These mines are super cool as well
To be honest. I don't think we need any more units right now. What we need is more/different Battlefields/Maps and map mechanics to switch things up.
Personally i would like to see an expensive (giant tier cost) chaff unit. Not real chaff but just something with high unit count.
I would like to see more titanic units with upkeep. It's weird to have a special mechanic just for one unit.
@@morioh6623 Something like a drone swarm maybe?
@@Ninjaguiden89 anything but an all rounder
I disagree. I honestly don't even look at the map most of the time. Units and game modes are what gives the game variety not the map.
Basically a little bit bigger arclight
yes, very very tanky arclight !
this also has an effect where one would use more rhinos and hackers if taratulas are on the field
yes! This happened in my games with the tarantula
Hello Surrey,
I want to ask where you got the text-to-speech for this series of videos from. It sounds miles better than other text-to-speeches I've worked with.
in the description
Well that's gunna become the new carry unit very quickly. Hp doesn't seem to high so maybe storms could counter but those mines could still make that hard
cant wait to play with this i love spiders
siicckkkk spider
I'd be interested in a vid on armor enhancement, how much that 60 blocks, and at what levels it makes the unit immune against x smaller unit like fangs etc.
thanks for the idea!
Helllooooo 😛
Costs 200 credits for nearly 17k hp and it has a field maintenace tech that both increases hp by 30% and heals the 4.5% a second upon damage. Idk, i think that tech needs to be just the 4.5% per second version for this unit at first glance.
it's pretty costly tech though. And it still gets wrecked by balls/giants with the technology
Waiting for mecha godzilla
15s seems slow, but slow chaff gen tank might let folks be more defensive? shift away from the front line more if they want? hmmmm...
MUSTANGS MAMA
HYPE
okay, they can remove archlight xD
so whats the point of archlight now?
no splash to air?
Respectfully, why? Do we not already have plenty of chaff clear units? Does replacing Phoenix as a spawn option actually add anything to the game? It really feels like more units are being added just for the sake of it, at this point, without much thought as to what niche they'll actually fill.
i suspect they want to have multiple options for a single role so they can rotate units in and out in the future when there's plenty of units to choose from
@@SurreyEZ That's kinda what I figured, and I don't think that's an awful idea, it just seems like this maybe isn't the time for that. Personally I'd rather see QOL, or possibly new cards at this point.
When are we getting this unit!?
thursday i think
- chaff clearing unit
So almost Every big unit now? Doesnt feel It brings anything New, Just filling a hole created by The deva
some overlapping roles yea
Wow, arclights are now useless
Ahhh the arachnids are taking over. Typhoon scorp tarantula meta incoming
