The African population used to be more than 50 percent of the Argentine population, and there used to be more black people in Argentina than in Brazil, Argentina committed mass genocide against its African population, and I personally would never set foot in Argentina.
Argentina from 1868 to 1874, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, undertook a genocide' that wiped out the Afro-Argentinean population to the point that by 1875, there were so few Black people left in Argentina that the government didn't even bother registering African descendants in the national census.
Tellingly, Sarmiento wrote in his diary in 1848: What is [to be] done with such blacks, hated by the white race? Slavery is a parasite that the vegetation of English colonization has left attached to the leafy tree of freedom,” - International Business Times.
imagine they killed half their population. the land of Argentina was fertilized with the blood and bones of Argentina's former African enslaved population.
the food that grows in Argentina, and the grass that grows, for which the cattle graze on, was fertilized by the blood and bones of, its former African enslaved population,
that unique taste that you taste, when you eat food grown and grazed in Argentina, is the blood and bones of your former enslaved people.
African slaves built Argentina, and then the former slave owners paid back the slaves for the great works, toil, and effort, with mass genocide,
the most complete and comprehensive genocide in human history.
most of the present black and African population in Argentina are recent elite African and black immigrants, who did not arrive in Argentina until after 1980 and are not descendants of Argentina's African enslaved population. Argentina has gone a long way in whitewashing the genocide of its former African enslaved population, by allowing marginal mostly elite African immigrants, who themselves are somewhat anti-African, and tend to be very invested in absolving the European Argentine population of its genocide past, one of histories most comprehensive genocides committed against Argentinas descendants of Argentinas African population descendant of the trans-Atlantic slave system

I'm a mixed race man from Birmingham and in 15 years living in Argentina I've never experienced racism for my colour and only twice have I seen any form of animosity because of the political hatred between Britain and Argentina. I find the Argentinians have more curiosity about different cultures than it seems. There isn't a great deal of colour in the streets but in recent years there has bèen an influx of Colombians, Venezuelans and Senegalese so it is much more common now.
My experiences of racism in Britain during 30 years was much worse than I've experienced here.

During a vacation in the United States, I went to a random bar, paid my entrance and when I was in, I noticed all the people in that bar were looking at me in a threatening way (that was an exclusive black people strip club, one girl made me a sign crossing her fingers on her neck like "cutting a throat "). My boyfriend told me, "let's get the h$& out of here". I felt in danger. Isn't that discrimination ?
Another example: everybody know that in Europe latins are considered roaches by European.
What I say is that discrimination is everywhere and has different colors, countries and shapes. So, how can you all dare to say only Argentina is racist when racism is all over the world!

I am sorry but the U.S is one of the most racist places relatively, I have found. I do not feel instantly judged in other places. According to the black guy interviewed, his worst experience with r@¢¡$m in Argentina was a situation where he was walking down the street at 3 a.m. and some cops asked him his identification, checked his backpack and let him continue on his way despite they found a small amount of w€€d inside it...
How dramatic, I couldn't hold back the tears... C'mon...
If those cops had wanted, they could have arrested him for a few hours, which is what they do with many young people (especially at night, if they are consuming al¢0h0l or d®ūg$ - or posses it - in the street and if they look like they are lower/lower-middle class), using any excuse to lock them up for some hours in the police station and thus record that they were actively controlling the streets (happened to me and many friends)... So, apparently, those cops were not very r@¢¡$t, otherwise the story would have been different.
After that, he said that in Argentine society you are accepted as black if you fit into an stereotype that he never clarified how it is... So, who will understand him if he can't explain things or looks like he can't stand his own affirmations? And the girl couldn't complete properly any point or idea and only repeated some slogans from American media and activists, her complains were more like a childish whining than an actual claim about a serious topic.
And r@¢¡$m in Argentina (that of course that is very present, although is more directed against amerindians than against blacks) it is often denied or minimized by locals but also is exaggerated by foreigners who don't know the country.
About x€n0ph0b¡@, although is even more visible, probably is less strong than in other Latin American countries, where there is more v¡0£en¢e related to it (Venezuelan immigrants have been attacked in other countries for example).

Not of a dream world, not of a world of wishful thinking, not a world distorted by hope, but a world that was seen as it is, a world that was sometimes brutally projected to us as a people so that we could use that knowledge to advance our interest as such.
THIS IS A LEGACY THAT WE , AFRIKAN MUST CONTINUE!

I appreciate this video but more focused questions would've been more helpful. For example, how is racism played out in health care? Are black patients taken seriously when they visit their doctor? What is the life expectancy for blacks and how does it vary from whites? What about employment? Is there bias in hiring practices and how significant is the gap in earnings between blacks and whites? The problem with racism is that it is not benign or harmless because Blacks in America have the highest mortality rate for both infants and pregnant mothers (maternal) in the industrialized world. I am interested in how racism kills or deteriorates the lives of the Black populace because who wants to move to another country only to find out later that it is worse in some other way. Nonetheless, you did a good job considering the fact that there aren't very many black people in Argentina to begin with.

@@dalerojo2.091exactly. During the colonial times African represented a bigger group in the population, but not as big as other American countries cause slavery trade wasn't a big bussiness down here in the South. History was different in Brazil, or Colombia or the Caribbean, even in the USA. Actually Argentina was one of the first territories in abolishing slavery and it wasn't a big deal around here (nothing to do with Brazil or USA). After independence, huge immigration waves from Europe (mostly from Spain and Italy) started to come and they multiplied by 5 the population that already existed here. All these people mixed over the years and the phenotype of future generations changed. It is true that the government back then was encouraging European caucasian immigration and not other types, but black african descendents were never persecuted or extermined, or any kind of genocide towards them occurred in Argentine history. In fact, in Jujuy, whites without much admixture (on their physical appearance too) are less than mestizos and amerindians.
In the case of the south, although also many natives survived, the k1lling was much bigger, and the region became mostly white with the immigration, like the Pampa region (although in the mountain area of the Patagonia always remained more mestizos and amerindians than in the Pampa).

In Argentina the "discrimination" is towards the attitude you take in life. If you are a black person but you are a productive member of society you will never be harrased. If you are black and embrace the live of a gang member you will be treat as a little piece of sh*t. It is sad because sometimes those people are victims of their enviroment and they program their mind in a bad way since birth, they can't do anything to evitate it BUT outside this case in specific you will never encounter a bad treatment of insults towards a black persons specially when you reach adulthood. It is possible that someone could make a joke about you when you are a teenager but also you can say "negro" or "negrito" to someone with black skin, even being a white person, in a loveable way. It is not always taken like an insult.

In Argentina, the discrimination comes more for classiest, status, but its more install in Buenos Aires cause brown skin is associated with poverty. Argentina always has economic problems, and people from province go to big cities, and there starts this phrases of racism, also impulses by tv, they imply all people from provinces are ignorant, or delinquent. Is a plus of many things.

The vast mayority of Venezuelan people is working people and very willing to play a role in our country, but we've also received a lot of thieves and Venezuela dictatorship agents to infiltrate and create problems. Also you should know the president was quoting the lyrics of a song of Lito Nebbia, an argentinian musician, - a dreadful song by the way - the president shouldn't have done that, it was rather stupid and embarrassing, but JUDGING THE WHOLE POPULATION ON THAT XD shows your own ignorance & prejudice. Israel’s Rejection Not Total
1I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. 2God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, 3“Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”? 4But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.
7What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. 8Just as it is written:
“God has given them a spirit of stupor,
Eyes that they should not see
And ears that they should not hear,
      To this very day.”
      9And David says:
“Let their table become a snare and a trap,
A stumbling block and a recompense to them.
10Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see,
And bow down their back always.”
      Israel’s Rejection Not Final
11I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. 12Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!
13For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, 14if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. 15For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
16For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
19You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” 20Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:
“The Deliverer will come out of Zion,
      And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
28Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. 29For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. 30For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, 31even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. 32For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.
33Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
34“For who has known the mind of the Lord?
Or who has become His counselor?”
35“Or who has first given to Him
And it shall be repaid to him?”
36For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
