I run a Trans Am GT1 and come across this all the time. Cars, especially street cars, have gotten a whole lot faster. And they have nannies (anti-lock, yaw control, traction control, etc.). This is because the manufacturers want to sell product. Walter Rohrl (look him up...if you dare) has commented that it took a lot more skill in his time to go fast than in modern cars. When I practice (VIR) I cannot tell you how many times I've had Techno-boobs in 4WD, "supercars," tailgate me on the fist lap (or 2) tailgate me until I give them a point-by. And every single, after my tires have warmed up, I catch every single one of them. Technology is a wonderful thing. It has solved many problems and made our lives safer and richer. But in road racing there is a link between simplicity and skill that cannot be abrogated. The less, "BS," you have on your car the lighter it is and the more you have to rely on yourself. There are lessons here.
Perhaps stack two or three, or find one of the same shape that’s taller? Then find a rear-opening “mailbox” fairing to cover it, like some Ferraris had in the mid-sixties? Note: going to a taller air-filter was something I did in the past to deal with the dust-storms of San Bernardino county many years ago. Before doing so, I’d need new air filters every few thousand miles…. Later, when I did so, I found that it gave a noticeable performance boost, too, especially when the stock filter housing choked airflow off especially bad. It was just about 3/8 of an inch higher than the stocker, such that the lid had a small gap the whole way around.

The AC and Cheetah are great old cars, good enough to go head to head with the best today. The flip side is that they are such raw, lightweight, super torquey rear wheel drive cars is a recipe for disaster. Both cars are built to kill or at least wreck novices. Both are difficult, when pushed to their limits, even by masters. Their incredibly high potential is just as incredibly dangerous to handle. To be honest, it is a good thing that many AC replica owners don't get to a race track, and it is actually a good thing many of them plop in midrange performance 302's without too much tuning. It keeps a lot of people from getting hurt.
not worthwatching. even where the chevy v8 should and proudly brags of superiority it still is just hanging on. only a lucky break by obstruction did it pass...
The GTR cut his corner pass twice. He is driving a monster with a hair trigger and zero traction aids, with only 2 wheels delivering all of it's power.
This guy is scared of the car and doesn't know jack ship about a 327 or he wouldn't be letting his rpm's get below about 3500. He should be using the gears to slow down instead of the brakes and when he come's out of the turns, he'd already be in the right gear. If he geared down to go around a turn and is still going to fast, then he needs to drop down another gear, even if it's 1st. He definitely is NOT a gear jamming, no fear, aggressive kind of driver and he's not going to hurt that 327 by twisting it up in the high rpm's. The 60 years I've been on this planet and all the different junk yards I've trampled through, there's only two motors I've never seen with a rod sticking out the side of it, a 283 and a 327, not saying it can't happen, but it's so uncommon it makes your chances of seeing one very very low. All this guy has to do is a shot of good whiskey, get in an argument with the old lady, hit his head on something on the way out the door, stub his little toe on something he told his kid to move earlier, smash his fingers in the door and then a bird shit on him after he's already buckled into the cheetah. Now he's ready to race and going to take out his anger on that 327 the way he should have been doing it all along.

LMAO!!...Not going to Happen....
In a real race the Nissan would be out on lap 10 no brakes
The guy driving the cheetah sucked
I'd put my Audi up against the whole mess.
And get smoked lol
That’s the spirit !
not worthwatching. even where the chevy v8 should and proudly brags of superiority it still is just hanging on. only a lucky break by obstruction did it pass...
you must be a dumbass.
Kinda looked like the GTR jumped the start.
