There is a slightly faster way (imo) that you can get the Knight's Resolve Ash and you can get it within the first 10 minutes of the game! In the graveyard of Raya Lucaria, you can get one of the zombies near the Carian Armor set to bite you off the ledge, you will take 0 fall damage, but the zombie will die. Take the elevator down, get grabbed and die to the Iron Maiden, this takes you to Volcano Manor area. When you spawn, run forward one or two molten platforms and jump off the ledge to the right into the town. Go up the staircase, ride the elevator in front of you up, and go to the bridge that's under the lava. Raise the bridge, then jump from the far right chain wheel to the ledge where the other iron maiden is, then go down the staircase across from her, run through the room with the biting crawlers, and it's right there! No need for stonesword keys or anything, just a few chugs of your flask!
This is an amazing video. I run the Guts Greatsword and completely forgot you can dual wield giant weapons. Thanks for the insightful video on the Ashes of War. Going to go snag this one next.
You can also use Raptor's Black Feathers to increase jump attack damage by 10%, which us useful since jump attacking is the closest thing to heavy attacks when powerstancing. There's also the Blood Boil Aromatic and Exhalted Flesh which further increase damage, but they're consumables so you'll have to craft them to use their buffs.
Just a tip (You may already know) but when you're traversing in the lava or any deep scarlet rot or poison areas, you can use the weapon art "Quickstep" or "Bloodhounds Step" ash on a dagger to get around faster so you're not rolling around in those areas and taking more damage from lava or building up Rot/Poison when when you're off the area of effect, really helps with getting around, hope this helps if you didn't know that 😉
the boss is not easy (for me at least). just to be sure, if you're looking at the boss room, turn left and go up hill and rise a bridge for a shortcut that leads back to the grace
Im also playing power stanced greatsword with this strat. I love those huge hits - i hit a sewer Brute for 8.4k with double iron greatsword +24. Cant wait to finally upgrade them to 25 when the patch comes
no you set up, do massive damage then fight normally his strategy is hell of a opener to a bossfight lol starting with 25 to 40% less boss life is insane! 😂
If you play offline and don't want to wait ng+ you can take the inferno crozier hammer to deal blunt damage. It's the equivalent of greatsword in terms of damage and you can buff it with knight resolve. There is the giant crusher hammer too but you need 60 strength to use it in one hand. You'll get to ng+ before leveling up to this level trust me (don't be a glass canon for this). The inferno crozier hammer take 45 strength, don't forget you can buff your strength stat with Radagon's Soreseal, Starscourge Heirloom and Omensmirk Mask head piece. Don't forget to boost your jump attack with the claw talisman and Raptor's Black Feathers chest piece (not in the video). You can also boost your attack with "fire, give me strength" incantation and the Commander's Standard weapon
Its a nice setup but its way better to set the affinity of colossal swords to anything but bleed or poison, it makes the weapon do way less damage than it should.
Everyone says don't roll in the lava but with 30+ vigor I simply moved through it twice as fast as trying to keep sprint jumping with my medium equip load and going nowhere. With an abductress chasing me, rolling was the way to go.
Great job! Slightly too fast forwarded if you've never done most this area, but one thing is when you get to the long fall, fall to the right instead of taking the cages down. It lets you get all the items.👉
@@johnface3474 Based on appearance the sword is a hybrid combining the golden age sword and the dragon slayer so directly calling it the dragon slayer isn't correct

I'm currently doing tests between Heavy, Frost and Bleed for a pure STR and greatsword. Maybe I'll upload a video, but for now, on organic target, bleed seems the best ( I was surprised too )
So I have a question, what is the difference between determination and Royal Knight's resolve? I've yet to acquire RK's Resolve so I was wondering what the differences were with determination (Something I already have). Does one do more damage then the other?
I don't see much point in going all the way through a talisman, when you raise the hound's fang to +9, it gives the same amount of power in hits as the sword with that talisman, in addition to bleeding what the second hit already You would be taking about 2500 energy from the enemy.
I’ve been trying out a str/int build with cold greatswords that do 910 dmg. But if I change to blood loss it only does 726 dmg. Is blood loss still going to give me more overall dmg?
I can’t get this sword, for some reason when I get to the chest I open it and nothing is in it for me to pick up. I went back to the grace multiple times and kept trying like 20 times over the span of a month and now I just gave up on it. It weird cause nothing is in it and after I open the chest and go back to a site of grace the chest closes again, so I keep opening it but nothings there
So I found a bug with the greatsword, when you level it up to max level you actually lose some damage, both flat and from scaling, no idea what could cause this but it is definitely a problem.
@@sw4gyJohnson yes, it does. Why? Well because the off-hand enchant stays and the craigblafe causes more stagger which means more riposte which means more damage.
