The saddest thing about Tim's mother is that she wasn't directly killed by a villain, but instead accidentally killed herself by drinking poisoned water shortly after being rescued by Batman. What an cruelly tragic end
That isn't ironic, just sad. If Batman accidentally killed her after saving her, that would be the correct usage for irony.

Seeing his mother again must have been an absolutely cathartic moment for Tim, considering he couldn't rescue her in person when she was kidnapped and murdered because he wasn't ready to be Robin yet, with the guilt of what happened to her and his father something that affected him for years. It was an encounter as emotional as that of Spider-Man and the spirit of Uncle Ben.
Chip Zadarsky just LOVES Tim Drake , almost feels like he did when we left him in new 52, the bit with his mom , most writers don't even bring it up
Chip took the good stuff from the new 52 and tossed the bad. He knows whats up.
Finally an Enjoyable Tim Drake Story... I would really love to see more of him in a Main character's role, hopefully they won't mess this one up.
Tim is pretty much the main Robin in the main Batman book since chip took over, Damian has Batman and Robin in a different book so it's kind of Best of Both Worlds

I’m still so confused how batman wouldn’t think to have failsafe check if he ACTUALLY killed somebody before doing all it’s nonsense
I might have made this up or it was mentioned, I don’t know. I believe that failsafe can only be turned off by Alfred who is dead. I guess Batman idea is Alfred would be the only one to do what is needed while the Bat-Family would try to stop Batman but yeah should have more than one safety measure for sure.

Failsafe resolved like 7 months ago, they even released the big hardcover book for it lol. Sorry you got spoiled, but its WAY old now in terms of Comic releases. This entire arc is complete, we'll be releasing all 3 parts this weekend.

@@comicstorian I think the best way for Bruce to keep himself in check is to marry Zatanna. Zatanna has known Bruce much longer than any other woman he dated and would remind him to adhere to his strict morals and ethics. He needs to learn how to get out of his own way and find love with his childhood friend.

Someone explain to me. Why didn't failsafe go after the batman who laughs?
I mean the obvious answer is that the story wasn't thought of them. But possibly the in continuity answer, maybe the Batman who laughs was created before the Batman of zur an r ? So therefore failsafe was never created in that universe
Alfred somehow took down the batman who laughs and was about to kill him before the batman who laughs convinced him that there was still a saveable piece of Bruce in there. Perhaps failsafe is how Alfred took down the batman who laighs
So, Failsafe's compassion was giving Batman a Gotham that needed him, and removing him from a Gotham that didn't. Interesting

I, personally feel like this was their way of giving Tim Drake something big to do, where he could be the star/ focus point as… I’m not sure I feel his character would have that connection with Bruce/ Batman to go out of his way for him…

OMG this storyline was inspired from the Cartoon Network Justice League Cartoon where people thought Toyman "Killed" Superman with a "Disintigration Beam" but Toyman unknowingly invented a Time Transport Gun that sent Superman to the distant Future. These were the same episodes where Lobo "joined" the League temporarily.
