A mini kelly is an Hermes bag. Hermes is one of the oldest fashion houses and to be able to get a kelly or birkin you have to be picked and be an important client aka spends a lot.If you have a bag, you probably bought it second hand (a used birkin goes for around 40k cad). Mini Kelly’s are very hard to get your hands on but a pink one is even rarer.Hope this helps Also the bag was 68k was that expensive bc it was an exotic leather like alligator those bags are even rarer
thank you. The price has inflated a lot over the years, albeit. But these bags are handmade, everything is cut by hand, sewn by hand, are expensive materials and the people who make them are actually getting paid. BUT they have still included exclusivity into the cost of the bag regardless of those details.
i fear we've lost the plot if people are paying THAT much money for "authentic" bags / shoes when it's basically just status symbols in our current society. People care a lot about appearances, and honestly i think it's smarter on them to buy counterfeit for some stuff. ofc if you can afford designer or have money saved, buy them, but otherwise caring so much over if a bag is real or fake sounds so extra
“Caring so much about if a bag is real or fake sounds so extra”. It’s not the act of buying dupes that made people upset. It’s the transparency. They are upset at them for buying dupes and then lying about it in order to flaunt unattainable wealth to their followers. Once they got called out they raged baited and threw a company under the bus.

I had to laugh because I remembered a story about a Balenciaga bag that was like $1100 and it totally looked almost identical to the reusable blue bags that you can buy at Ikea. And Ikea totally trolled them about it which made it even funnier.
hearing markie say “mini kelly” is so funny to me for some reason 😭 the reason they are so expensive is because they are made by hand by only a few artisans. hermes bags are meant to last, however it’s just overconsumption now and people buy just for displaying them in their huge wardrobes :(
@@foliofolio Exactly.. They made the bags difficult to get to artificially inflate the social and monetary value. People pay for the brand. They pay to feel important. It's not about the quality. It's a symbol.
And overconsumption is much more a thing in the fast industry with chepear products. The rich calls what they do "collecting". And they have been collecting bags, shoes, etc since way before social media was even a thing
The problem with influencers is that they show off a very out of touch lifestyle full of luxury. So when people realize it’s fake, it realizing they’ve been lying. And the lifestyle you were dreaming of or admiring doesn’t exist.
It's super weird when someone feels the need to flaunt their wealth, it seems very middle school (to be fair those girls seem younger). But also to care so much if someone is flaunting wealth with fake bags.... is also super weird and gives middle school 😅 and some of those people seemed like adults...
@Mama_Bear524 I find it interesting and a little entertaining, people just be spending 100k on shit like its nothing that's fascinating, I don't even get mad I'm just like "wow you live like that"
People will come to the top of the waitlist and be offered a bag they don’t want and if they don’t buy it they legit might never get offered another bag from them EVER. People have to be grateful and take the bag they hate and resell it hoping they’ll be allowed to try again. INSANE!!
My purse is rubber and shaped like a chicken. Her name is Hen-rietta and her matching coin purse is Mini-etta, and everyone loves Henrietta and Minietta
I live in a totally different world... I would never pay those prices for those bags... I would text a picture to my mother and ask her if she could make me one, instead, so I could brag to my coworkers about my mom's skill.
I love your comment. I agree, that would make any gift priceless. For Christmas my youngest daughter and her fiance gave myself and her big sister ,( my other daughter, ,) a box , when we opened it , inside was a tiny new born baby vest, an engraved message which said baby xxxxx (surname) due in July and a positive pregnancy test. My daughter and I couldn't stop crying. with joy. Now that is priceless. It's worth a thousand of those bags 10 times over. I'm so excited.
There are so many people in my community who have to choose between buying food and buying medicine because they can't afford both. If I'm headed out the door to go pack bags with nonperishable food items for the less fortunate, the purse that goes with me came from JC Penney and it cost me about $50. If those girls had to walk a mile in someone else's shoes, or lack thereof, they would be in for a very rude awakening.
Pausing for a minute after you talked about the mini Kelly bag thing (4:10 ish). If I were her marketing person / handler, my advice on responding to this would have been: Tell them that yes, your mom bought you a fake one. And you agreed that the difference in the price would be donated to _X_ charity. That's it. Make the donation, make a press release, the papers pick it up, and voila. Potential negative turns net positive. But I'm guessing that's not where this goes.
The real ones people often buy as an investment and sell to a verified reseller for much more. People will wait years to be invited to buy one and when they get there sometimes it’s not even the one they wanted so they buy and then resell for much more than they buy it for. There is a channel on RUclips, I forget the name, that sells and buys them from clients. Some clients only had payed like 7k £ for it but then bring it to resell for like 16k. If it’s vintage it could be a lot more. And if it never leaves the box, and is in mint condition, you can get a lot of them.
people really need to stop caring about rich people. literally just don't give them attention. they would literally sacrifice you in a heartbeat just to get a bit more money, they are not worth following
Markie telling us that it’s a mini Kelly and being shocked by the cost is just so delightful. It is shocking. I went into a Hermes store I buy a scarf and couldn’t even get a sales associate to acknowledge me. 😂
love the response from the company, but this seems like such a nonissue to me? 😭 like okay, they bought a fake bag and? this effects everyone in the comment section how? I really don't get it
Its the fact they market themselves as super rich from what I can see. Their entire brand seems to be "Look how rich my family is". Its basically the same as those fitness media people like the Liver King who claim to be naturally super jacked and sell you their life style but then its revealed they are taking enough steroids to but the Russian Olympics to shame.
What people should actually be criticizing are the counterfeit product sellers. Counterfeit is illegal and unregulated. So you don’t know the actual material of the product or the chemicals used, which could be harmful to the buyer
meanwhile, I've had a leaking pipe in my ceiling for a few weeks because I couldn't afford to get it fixed. Hopefully next week. I would love to have the handbag problem instead.
I had an hermes account for 9 years and had to spend a hell of a lot in the 9years before I was offered an INTERVIEW to buy a kelly. I wouldn't imagine a brand new one is that easy to get, unless they are buying them 2nd hand. A lot of people collect them so they would still look new. I'd never buy one without viewing, the fake ones are so good sometimes.

Not that I want Markie to have fewer viewers, and I really dont mean this in a bad way! But why are you here if you don't care/hate it so much? It's almost all petty TikTok drama 😅
@ElleVee1980 can't blame you for that haha, I was honestly curious :) I don't care a lot about the drama either, but I just love hearing Markie talk about it 😁
Yes but we can’t exactly take her bag and say be back in a while and take it to the store to check it. Also the girl in the video with the bag either didn’t know it was fake or didn’t care hence why she was showing it off. So she isn’t taking it to a store for verification either.
in the luxury resell community, the real real isn’t considered the most trustworthy reseller. they do have an issue with fakes and it’s something that is known in certain circles
Fakes are soooo good nowadays, why would you spend $68000. I'd by the fake and be proud of it. But i definitely wouldn't make people think it's real. 😂😂 which is where they f.cked up
What's funny is a lot of rich people actually have a lot of fakes. Wealthy people, rich *rich* people, would never consider getting a fake one and definitely won't flaunt in online.
They knew it was fake. They just weren't smart enough to know that some people know the difference. My mom had a low end purse and a lady complimented it. My step dad told the lady it was a fake. The lady laughed and said she knew better. People know!
I have the feeling that the girls may not have known it wasn't real to begin with. I mean, if you just buy expensive you don't really need to know what it's real and what it isn't. I would never be able to tell apart one bag from the other and honestly it's insane that price tag...
Some people actually do want the legitimate prodjce. It's like buying a switch game and finding out your cartridge is false, which would annoy others because they actually collect switch cartridges.
@@elleash3040 Oh sorry, I can't really understand spending that much on bags so I was hoping they also wouldn't know the price tag...200.000 is insane for gift to be honest, it's enough to buy a house + a car and have something left too in my country...

3:10 im not sure about Lamborghini, but Porsche and Ferrari definitely do this. For some new higher trim/model cars like the Porsche GT3 RS and GT4 RS you had to have bought some cars from them before to be able to order one new
I feel like they were probably scammed, and where embarrassed so went along with the narrative that everyone put towards them of "they already knew". The people that care so much feels just dumb, and them having such expensive stuff also feels rather dumb.
Hermes you need to be interviewed. My mum has a Birkin and she waited a long time….. but she said it was well worth it. But she saved and saved. So appreciates It even more
Eat the rich holy shit. This much money for a BAG. WHAT. They spent more on a single bag than many people earn in a whole YEAR. That’s genuinely insane.
The fact that this is a thing at all and that people invest any time is this is pathetic. Anyone who spends thousands on an ugly purse is dumb. My empathy for peoples’ hobbies or whatever you’d call this is completely gone. It’s not funny anymore.
I just can't even comprehend this. People can buy whatever they want, but I just can't imagine looking at my finances and thinking I can buy one purse or help a family rent an apartment for a year... I mean I do realize how different life experiences are. I think of that because I know so many people who are struggling and it isn't like I don't buy myself things. Just blows my mind. Not trying to judge them. Just my perspective. I could never enjoy richtok.
Well same could be said when anyone buys anything though - my son got a TV for Christmas- could have been some poor families groceries for a month. Everyone has more than somebody - ya know.
@laurapotpie true, but there are things that feel more necessary than others. Having a decent TV, car, or phone is one thing. There is not one benefit to a $30k purse except to show off. More expensive TVs can actually effect the quality. Really what improvements can you make to a purse that aren't just about ego? You are so beyond anything actually functional at that point. Ironically coming back to this comment made me more judgemental than I was in the original because I actually had to think of the values of these items 😆
The only reason I can think of people caring is usually the working conditions for fake brands factories aren't great. As they're... like underground factories. Js.
Are they really rich, though? Lately we have seen instagram and tik tok folks acting rich when they are in debts. Their rooms are dead giveaway, so typical looking and are normal sized.
This is just like surreal to me. I've personally never understood the whole luxury brand thing. Like I'm all for investing in high quality items if you can. But quality has a price limit so you're literally just paying for the label. And for what? I dunno I've never lived kind of life but I just can't imagine wanting to flaunt status like that. Money doesn't make you inherently better than anyone else. No shade to people who want to save up for one specific designer item I can understand that but when you're whole brand is owning luxury items...
you have to be invited to buy that 70k bag, hence why people are desperate to get a fake, because they need to be seen as the person who is so rich they get invited to waste more money
I respect the TRR video. It is cute, fun, and shuts down controversy without the need for all the back and forth we sometimes see by addressing the issue instead of wasting time attacking the Tik Tokers.
I've never seen these videos before, and seeing the clips here, I took it as a skit, sort of mocking rich people. I never would have thought they were showing genuine designer items. I feel like people are pretty gullible when it comes to the lifestyles displayed on social media - not one of these 'influencers' is real!
You’re the only person I want to hear talk about this nonsense. I couldn’t care less about petty fake clothes drama but the way you talk about it is just so entertaining 😂 fr tho I have to think twice about spending $68 on a bag, never mind $68,000! Some people have too much money
I feel like I saw a story within the last year about someone getting a fake from The RealReal, but I can’t remember if it was a full blown drama or just a random Reddit post
Oh my god, imagine having so few problems you feel the need to spend time making, editing and posting a TikTok because you’re offended someone didn’t spend a years rent on a handbag?!

My opinion? Those children are disgusting and it's the parents' fault. Your parents work hard? Doing what? I would love to hear how hard they work to buy a literal multi-thousand dollar PURSE while 98% of the country is struggling to buy food while working 2 and 3 jobs breaking their backs. The fact that this is the type of person that the young are idolizing is scary.

@@SisselSashaIt sucks bc I got a Coach wristlet and it’s the most expensive purse I’ve ever carried. The zipper broke and it’s now unusable. My friend is buying vintage coach purses that are decades old and are in excellent condition. Seems like I just paid a lot for a name and not quality.
exactly. same. couldn't care less. if it's pretty it's pretty if it's ugly it's ugly. who cares about what brand or label it's so stupid
A mini kelly is an Hermes bag. Hermes is one of the oldest fashion houses and to be able to get a kelly or birkin you have to be picked and be an important client aka spends a lot.If you have a bag, you probably bought it second hand (a used birkin goes for around 40k cad). Mini Kelly’s are very hard to get your hands on but a pink one is even rarer.Hope this helps
Also the bag was 68k was that expensive bc it was an exotic leather like alligator those bags are even rarer
thank you. The price has inflated a lot over the years, albeit. But these bags are handmade, everything is cut by hand, sewn by hand, are expensive materials and the people who make them are actually getting paid. BUT they have still included exclusivity into the cost of the bag regardless of those details.
It’s an ugly purse 😂 should just buy a few cars or a pedigree racehorse or something actually worth 68k
Classism will never cease to disgust me
That whole thing is beyond ridiculous.
@@miikoshkaA car loses value over time, a bag like that gains value
Imagine having that kind of problem
i fear we've lost the plot if people are paying THAT much money for "authentic" bags / shoes when it's basically just status symbols in our current society. People care a lot about appearances, and honestly i think it's smarter on them to buy counterfeit for some stuff. ofc if you can afford designer or have money saved, buy them, but otherwise caring so much over if a bag is real or fake sounds so extra
Some of these bags are good investments, like the classic chanel bag had more then a 100% increase the last ten years.
I love getting my fakes in Mexico
@@TheSamanthak86a good investment at 68k is gonna be a mortgage
“Caring so much about if a bag is real or fake sounds so extra”. It’s not the act of buying dupes that made people upset. It’s the transparency. They are upset at them for buying dupes and then lying about it in order to flaunt unattainable wealth to their followers. Once they got called out they raged baited and threw a company under the bus.
rich people lost the plot a long time ago.
I could never imagine paying $25k for a sack to put things in. I just don't get it. A shopping bag does the same thing.
I know, right? You can fit a lot more in a shopping bag, too 😅
Why buy a handbag you can't fit anything in? I need room for things like my house keys, asthma spray, cigarettes ( yeah, I know), wallet, phone, etc.
I'll stick with my el-cheapo bag from the discount store!
@@samanthafairweather9186 I totally understand. I'm addicted to nicotine, too, and that is a very, very tough thing to quit. I've tried and failed several times. If you know, you know. I could never fit my vape (which replaced my cigarettes), a bottle of nicotine liquid, and extra coils in one of those teeny, tiny, overpriced bags. Hopefully we'll both be able to quit one day 💗💕💖
i've literally never spent more than like, $30 on a purse. And that was a *really* cool purse.
I had to laugh because I remembered a story about a Balenciaga bag that was like $1100 and it totally looked almost identical to the reusable blue bags that you can buy at Ikea. And Ikea totally trolled them about it which made it even funnier.
hearing markie say “mini kelly” is so funny to me for some reason 😭
the reason they are so expensive is because they are made by hand by only a few artisans. hermes bags are meant to last, however it’s just overconsumption now and people buy just for displaying them in their huge wardrobes :(
they are expensive because og the brand, not because they are hand made. you can buy no brand hand made leathes bags for 100€+
@@foliofolio Exactly..
The company’s response is pure GOLD. Never heard of them and I don’t buy designer stuff, but I love them now lol. The real MVPs
I have seen advertisements for them. But I am not paying for a designer bag like that either so I've never looked at their site.
It’s bait for views, that’s how they make money.
Because its a niche some peoppe want to see it, I like seeing wealthy people show off shit it feels like being in a zoo.
@jotarodio4750I legitimately don’t understand why or how anyone finds that entertaining.
@Mama_Bear524 I find it interesting and a little entertaining, people just be spending 100k on shit like its nothing that's fascinating, I don't even get mad I'm just like "wow you live like that"
Most people who have to flaunt don’t actually have it! They are in debt!
People will come to the top of the waitlist and be offered a bag they don’t want and if they don’t buy it they legit might never get offered another bag from them EVER. People have to be grateful and take the bag they hate and resell it hoping they’ll be allowed to try again. INSANE!!
That sounds like a cult 😂 a cult were billoinares owners of fashion brands make fake exclusivity
Can imagine this same conversation happens in primary school playgrounds about Stanley cups
Sad but true 👍
So many of these content creators are selling the illusion of luxury, and people fall for it. I’m so glad to see this called out.
Absolutely. Cant believe people fall for their rich persona. It is crazy that some of them even go in huge debts to appear rich.
That's all social media lol it's just a business - a brand - like any other influencer.
£68,000 for a bag!!! Now I like a nice handbag, but £68,000 for a bag I couldn’t even get a book or my kindle in is a definite no from me lol.
Meanwhile im sitting here thrilled with my $40 frog shaped bag 😭
I just got a mini Dune bag for about £40 in the Next sale! I love it!!!! But I wasn’t even sure about spending that much money!!
My mum would disown me if I wasted that much money on a bag.

“That bag is fake”….ok?
It’s not it being fake that’s the issue. It’s them lying about it. Like, they should just own it, because you’re right, nobody really cares.
I’m more here for you than the actual stories most of the time 😂
This is the saddest drama ive ever seen
Pausing for a minute after you talked about the mini Kelly bag thing (4:10 ish). If I were her marketing person / handler, my advice on responding to this would have been: Tell them that yes, your mom bought you a fake one. And you agreed that the difference in the price would be donated to _X_ charity. That's it. Make the donation, make a press release, the papers pick it up, and voila. Potential negative turns net positive. But I'm guessing that's not where this goes.
That would be great, but I think it's that they couldn't afford it at all
What a dumb waste of time crafting a stupid story
@dotcom3015 I agree
The company could lose trustworthiness and have their reputation tarnished if people think they sell counterfeit items so it is a big deal for them.
@@barbaraday7662 I get it being a big deal for the company for their reputation but it doesn't affect the random people commenting

Ew can we leave these brats in 2024.
TRR are notorious for being awful at authenticating and reselling fakes.
This is the comment I came looking for.
I was going to comment there's multiple videos on RUclips of people who have ended up with fakes from TRR.
@@samanthafairweather9186 I love that this is common knowledge. Less of us getting scammed.
I just commented this!
Sad that people like this are remotely popular....
Did you manage to get one you wanted? Honestly, my problem with Hermes isn't the prices, but the process to buy one is crazy
All ima say is this is the stupidest drama ever. Who gives a shit if its fake i could not care less what rich people think like or have. Stop watching these shit people and platforming them.
issue is these women have built up image of them being filthy rich so when it comes out they had fake bag im not suprized some people called them out as there persona is being filthy rich.

This is ridiculous. $68000 for a bag is insane. That would take me years to begin to think of buying it
Imagine paying that much for a bag when a fake one costs £200 and needs a specialist examining it in detail to tell the difference.
one bag would be a down payment for a house 😭😭
I was laughing because, you could HEAR how fake those bags were! 😂🤣😂😂
Srsly, the chain hitting the leather sounded like a cruise boat docking. Bags aren't meant to CLANK.
And they probably smell like spray paint
@elleash3040 Nah, it probably smells like rotten fish and plastic combined. Most fake handbags have that horrid smell! 🤢
This family has to be ragebait😭 idk how people can be so disconnected from reality
The easiest way to prove if something is real is for them to go to the store and have the workers verify it. Those workers are trained to spot fakes.
Yes but we can’t exactly take her bag and say be back in a while and take it to the store to check it. Also the girl in the video with the bag either didn’t know it was fake or didn’t care hence why she was showing it off. So she isn’t taking it to a store for verification either.
The problem is that they really thought the designer collection girlie's wouldn't notice.
People lie on the internet shocker….
I mean, what if it all was a planned viral moment for the real site.
Idk, after watching it I would not buy from them.
Even with the authenticity check, the person who checks can make a mistake
in the luxury resell community, the real real isn’t considered the most trustworthy reseller. they do have an issue with fakes and it’s something that is known in certain circles

Fakes are soooo good nowadays, why would you spend $68000. I'd by the fake and be proud of it. But i definitely wouldn't make people think it's real. 😂😂 which is where they f.cked up

Love the carhartt hat Markie! Now there’s a brand worth paying for 😂
I found this situation extra funny because I've only ever heard horror stories about The Real Real...
How gross that people are so invested in material goods and wealth.
They knew. Her Xmas haul totalled like $200,000…
Some people actually do want the legitimate prodjce.
@@qwmx Oh I didn't think of the collection part, in that case yes I would be upset too. I was just hoping they didn't know and wouldn't care either way because they are happy with the gift
This guy is really over exaggerating how hard it is to get a mini. They are very much available 2nd hand easily
3:10 im not sure about Lamborghini, but Porsche and Ferrari definitely do this. For some new higher trim/model cars like the Porsche GT3 RS and GT4 RS you had to have bought some cars from them before to be able to order one new
I believe lambo specifically doesn’t do this bc Ferrari does
I'm clearly too poor for this type of drama to come across my FYP
Peak dystopia. Bc it makes me feel bleak that people are actually circulating this😂
I just can't even comprehend this.
Why do people care if it’s fake? Like it’s genuinely better to get a knock off because at least it’s more reasonably priced
The only reason I can think of people caring is usually the working conditions for fake brands factories aren't great. As they're... like underground factories. Js.
i know some people are really into fashion. but when it gets to this level it is SO stupid
It is cute, fun, and shuts down controversy without the need for all the back and forth we sometimes see by addressing the issue instead of wasting time attacking the Tik Tokers.
i was just finishing your last one thinking “isn’t it about time for an uplo- OH😊”
14:03 In my opinion these girls just played their parents like a fiddle… how much do you wanna bet that half the haters are Frenemies?
I've never seen these videos before, and seeing the clips here, I took it as a skit, sort of mocking rich people. I never would have thought they were showing genuine designer items. I feel like people are pretty gullible when it comes to the lifestyles displayed on social media - not one of these 'influencers' is real!
Hermes bags are like £30k resold. It’s insane.
Idc if it's fake or not lol if I like the style and the price is cheap then I'm getting it 😂
Oh my god, imagine having so few problems you feel the need to spend time making, editing and posting a TikTok because you’re offended someone didn’t spend a years rent on a handbag?!
Why because they are pretty and rich are half the comments saying they give mean girl vibes or sound mean?? like tf ??? 😂😂😂 They sounded quite pleasant in these videos? 😊 you are all watch to many American films if every attractive female with Rich parents you see are automatically mean girls 😂😂😂😂
we can make drama out of anything huh 😭
My opinion? Those children are disgusting and it's the parents' fault. Your parents work hard? Doing what? I would love to hear how hard they work to buy a literal multi-thousand dollar PURSE while 98% of the country is struggling to buy food while working 2 and 3 jobs breaking their backs. The fact that this is the type of person that the young are idolizing is scary.
they feel like mean girls, not because of the situation but just their vibe.
I hate to break it to a lot of people on TikTok, but nobody is obligated to tell them the truth about anything. If these girls wanted to troll and act like they got a real Hermes bag, didn’t let them do it!! I don’t even see why those bags cost so much in the first place when their cost of making it is probably under $20… consumerism is truly killing y’all
Cost of making is not under $20, it’s sewn by hand and very high quality material, it’s a bag thats meant to last a lifetime. At least it was meant to be that way. The product is perfectly fine, I really don’t think it’s the problem (the price and the customers are)
Pocket watching some rich girls christmas shi is crazy work cant lie
"Haha i exposed your stuff as fake" like they dgaf
