    Thank you Cassiy! Great tips. I have a question: for someone who just opened a shop and has around 20 products listed, would you recommend dividing your time to market your shop on social media to drive traffic, or would you instead recommend spending all of your time focused on getting more listings up?

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +18

      I would recommend only focussing on getting new listings up until you start getting a bunch of sales. Then you have proven designs that sell that you can market. I don't want you spending tons of time marketing shirts that may never sell. I'd wait and save your energy for now until you really get a handle on how to make good designs, good listings, good SEO etc. It's easier to learn one thing at a time.

These fonts are just fantastic and will save me tons of time searching on my own, which is especially helpful right now while I’m getting my shop up and running - there are just so many things you have to do - so saving me some time is a great gift. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Quick question: after publishing a listing how does editing affect SEO? Since I'm just starting out I find I go back several times to edit text and images and I'm concerned this confuses the algorythym. Thanks

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +1

      Great questions John, the only time I don't recommend editing SEO is when it is selling. Beyond that I think you can change things whenever you like and the algorithm should be smart enough to make the changes right away!

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +2

      Not a stupid question! I usually let my listings go the full 4 months of the renewal timeframe before I make any changes. I'd recommend spending more of your time looking towards the future, trying to figure out what design styles are selling best right now and being ready in advance for the next holiday/season!

    Thank you for sharing. Sometimes choosing the right font can be overwhelming and you've simplified the process. Any suggestions on when to use colors for the fonts outside of the black and white? I see some niches tend to like bright fun colors but I find it hard to match them to some shirt colors that are available in printify.

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +1

      I recommend finding some color pallets to use, I usually just google something simple like "retro color pallet" and then pick one that looks nice. Then all the colors for your fonts will coordinate! I usually also only do the basic shirt colors like Black, White and Athletic Heather for the shirts and do lots of colored font designs personally!

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад

      I sell tons of sweatshirts at Christmas and add long sleeves shirts when people ask. It all depends on how much you have to pay for the sweatshirt since every color and print provider can cost wildly different amounts. I would figure out your cost for the sweatshirt and then add $10-$15 onto that price and charge that! You ideally will be in the $36.99 - $42.99 range

    Hello Cassiy, love watching your videos, great tips. I was looking through this video and you indicate that the fonts your mentioning are best for POD. However under the download button it only indicates commercial usage. Iam sorry but Iam new at this and I want to make sure Iam nit stepping on anyones toes when downloading these fonts. I guess my question is, can I use the fonts that indicate commercial use for POD?

    • @GreenCatQueen
      @GreenCatQueen 7 месяцев назад

      I had that same question, but as I am searching through CF, it appears that most fonts are not labeled as Full POD. I only get Full POD products to be on the safe side, with the exception of fonts, because that way I don't have to worry about it, but you can use "for commercial use" products with POD as long as you change them. CF's website says, "You are allowed to sell products that aren't covered with the Full POD license on Print On Demand sites, as long as the design uploaded meets our license terms regarding Print on Demand usage for Basic POD." If you go to their license page that explains the difference between Basic and Full POD, it will explain how you have to change the design in order for it to be acceptable. I'd include the link, but I think that would get my comment deleted. But unless you're trying to do an alphabet sampler, you're going to be changing the font by making it into words. You may change the color, add other design elements like an image, etc. CF says, "You can use fonts to create quotes, sentences, word art, etc and upload those designs to POD sites."

    Can you please suggest any alternatives, or provide direct links to them? Because for some reasons, these are the fonts I wanted to use mostly out of your list

    Hi Cassiy (: I noticed that all the fonts have “commercial usage allowed” but not full pod, so it’s different for fonts and graphics then? Also if I download graphics that have full pod usage allowed that means I can use the graphics as is but if it’s just commercial usage then I have to piece them together with other elements to make my own unique design? Sorry if this is stupid lol

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +2

      No your question makes sense! Yes commercial rights for graphics you have to change it, for fonts you are already changing it by not leaving it as an alphabet if that makes sense. You are putting it together in your own new unique way!

    Cassiy, is 'commercial usage allowed" good for POD? I see that "Remington weather" font has commercial license only. I always thought that you'd have to find a full POD license to place a font on a POD product. Thanks in advance

    • @GreenCatQueen
      @GreenCatQueen 7 месяцев назад

    • @CassiyJohnson

      Not all of the alternate letters are useable with an app like Canva, some of the glyphs or real scripty letters can only be used in more advanced software like Photoshop or Photopea

      Yes you can't do the glyphs on a simple design software like Canva, those are really more formatted for Photoshop or something similar.

    Awesome video! Can you do a video on picking tags and mock ups? You always mention 'great selling mock-ups' and how that can make the difference, but I'm not sure if I'm interpreting that correctly. And does that mean we should use mockups beyond just the first photo that shows up in the thumbnail? Should we not use the subsequent ones that are imported from Printify to show the colors?
    With tags, do you need to repeat what's in your title? If you combine things in one tag (i.e., fall autumn) to maximize your tags, does that mess it up? Do plurals matter or make a difference (i.e., Halloween ghosts vs. Halloween ghost)? Thank you so much for all your help! I'm recommending your channel to anyone I know in print on demand because you have such great, well-explained content! Thank you!

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +2

      I actually made a mockup video coming out tomorrow that will answer all of your questions! ruclips.net/video/-5rxiuu2fyM/видео.html
      As for the SEO, plurals don't matter, I would try to use tags that are an exact match to what you think someone is going to type in instead of just random keywords smashed together so instead of "fall autumn" do "cute fall shirts" for example.
      Thanks for your support, so glad you are loving my videos!!

    • @CassiyJohnson
      @CassiyJohnson  2 года назад +1

      So most of the designs on creative fabrica are not “editable designs” so to make them your own you likely need to just erase things and add new things. Or just download graphics that you can make into your own design.
      Canva doesn’t have a great erase option but if you go to “edit image” on the png, you can click “background remover” and then an eraser will pop up after that and you can erase parts of the design but it’s not super easy to use. Hope that helps!

      I think the retro fonts on the back of a shirt are just heating up! You can do this style in any niche out there. I think that's where you will find more success instead of competing with the same people just putting positive sayings with "aesthetic clothing" as the titles. I've seen a ton of best sellers in niches like the pro choice niche but with that same style!
