My grandfather had i believe it was the 60. He had a ton of spare parts, canvases, belts, seives etc. He sold it at his farm auction 1993 in Illinois. I wish i would've bought some of the equipment. 😢.
I think my grandpa had his auction in 1992. I remember going just to see it but I was pretty little and I didn't really understand what was going on at the time. My uncle still farmed and Grandpa helped him a lot, but I sure missed Grandpa's tractors. The only one he kept was his WD45, that was the first one that he bought when he started. Thanks for watching, friend!
When i had my Dearborn, i was missing the finishing screen, tried to find one but never did. It did ok without, but it would have been better if i had one. The reason i chose my 661 Ford tractor instead of an 8N, which are common here, is weight, and it had a 5 speed, which even then 1st gear was a bit fast. I don't think they had crops as thick back then as we do now. Nice overview Evan, thanks!
Thank you, Rusty! The Oliver does have a slower first gear than the Allis, but I think I'll keep the WD45 in front of the All Crop. They look too good together! I really got lucky on the screens. Actually they were the reason I bought the 60 for parts at the time, he had a bunch of extra parts and the screens but he would only sell them with the 60, not the 72. Since I got the screens and a better set of cylinder bars from that combine, it was definitely worth it. Thank you for watching, my friend! Hope you have a good one!
Great, informative video Evan. If any of your viewer's would like to see some of these things at work, there will be several at the "Orange Spectacular" July 26,7,8th at Hutchinson Mn. Great show, I will be there all three days this year, good lord willing and the creek don't rise!
Thanks, Mike! Now that I've had more time I keep thinking of things I should have added, but the video was already way too long. I would love to go see the Orange Spectacular someday. I wish it was closer. There is a Gathering of the Orange in LaPorte, Indiana, later this month, but I don't think I will be able to make that one either this year. One of these days. I really hope you have a good time at Hutchinson! Are you taking anything to show or just going to see? Thanks again, Mike! Hope you have a good one!
@@evanaustin2636 Evan, curret plan is to take the 'Wide-front" WD 45, a 3-16's plow, (not sure which one), a drawbar and pto shaft. Keeping room in the pickup box to haul treasure home in!
Makes me so mad on here sometimes, had a long comment from earlier.todsy when I watched..I now see it's not here now 🤬 I will retype tomorrow Evan, you are a scholar for this one sir!! 😉😉
Oh man, sorry Nelson that really stinks. I wonder why it keeps doing that? Now when I think about it I keep thinking of other things I was going to talk about but forgot...like the corn heads, rust patching, stuff like that. Nothing that important I guess, this was already way longer than I wanted it to be. I'll be watching for the full comment later 😉
Thanks Robert! You sure don't see many anymore. They are kind of unhandy sometimes compared to a self propelled combine. But I like it anyway. Thank you for watching, Sir! Hope you have a good one!
@@GeigerFarm Mainly what I learned is there isn't anything complicated going on in there. There are, however, a whole bunch of simple things going on at the same time, in the same place 🙄🙄

Pretty interesting, don't see many of those in working order.
