Absolute immunity only applies if the crime is committed in the scope of her work. Being that she already admitted to speeding and doing so outside of work, she can be charged.

This is an example of how to never get elected to office again, and to ensure there are a handful of worthy people running against you. That said, her behavior is outrageous. The Sgt. gave the officer all the power to do what he needed to do. He is in a tough spot politically. She is not worthy of public service.

If officers who were caught giving breaks to fellow law enforcement were fired, it would stop happening much faster. At the end of the day, she got a break because she was the DA. If you pulled over like a lawful individual when the officer attempted to do his job he wouldn't be at your house now would he? 20 mi over the speed limit is a safety concern, whereas doing 75 on the highway when speed limit is 55 seems not serious cause everyone is doing 65-75. The DA's speed is indicative of city limits... Which means lots of pedestrians, not cool... She truly did piss on all the citizens of that town. She might get a Bar complaint if she gets enough negative publicity but no more than that... And I can almost guarantee any speeding tickets in her jurisdiction is going to be transferred over to somebody else's name 😂 for prosecution or those tickets are just going to be thrown out.

The cops had exigent circumstances to enter, which was one of the few things they got right. Anyone else would have been taken away in handcuffs. Everyone should be extremely concerned about what else this woman has gotten away with in her 33 years in a government job. It seems this video has blown off the tip of the iceberg. I’m the one that’s going to prosecute myself, do you know what I’m going to do with the ticket? Wow this lady should be arrested and then stripped of her duties of the DA. These public officials should be held to a higher standard. She deserves no breaks!
This is the exact situation when Federal Authorities (FBI/ DOJ, etc.) should step in and indict her.
Sandra Doorley is the elected District Attorney of Monroe County. Only the governor can remove her from her position. No one can fire her.
Also, the elected District Attorney has absolute immunity. She can never be prosecuted for anything. All she has to do, is utter the words, I was working on prosecuting a case, and the case gets automatically dismissed.

Seems like a bold statement since I saw Mike Nifong, the former District Attorney for Durham County, North Carolina GO TO PRISON for withholding exculpatory evidence from the defense and made false statements to the court.

Mike Nifong resigned as DA during the Duke lacrosse rape case. He was no longer the active DA. Sandra Doorley has been the DA since 2012. When you see her on local TV or in person, you see that she's never going to resign. She even survived switching from being a democrat to a republican before an election. The county is generally republican but the City of Rochester is overwhelmingly registered as Democrats. You haven't been in the Monroe county legislative chamber during her presentations. She's not going anywhere. I am for voters booting her out but the republicans in the monroe county GOP are too afraid of a Democrat becoming the DA. We had the county executive switch from Republican (for decades) to Adam Bello, who just won his first re-election. There is not other viable DA candidate that the monroe county GOP is willing to back.
It would be no surprise to find that she acts like this ALL THE TIME.
