These videos help a lot when having to take machines apart and reassemble them back together, great work as always mate keep up your excellent work.👍👍
Cheers for watching mate and thanks for all your support.
Jimmy
Good job Jimmy, looks like it came apart rather easily even though you had to get the bigger ratchet wrench after that one bolt. 🙂👍
Yeah, it's a real bonus servicing them every year and using plenty of grease, it pays dividends.
I've spent many hours struggling with those little bolts and having to drill and tap everything out.
Thats for sure Jimmy, a little preventive maintenance works wonders.
Good video mate .. very inspiring..
Cheers mate, I love taking stuff apart but I'm not so keen on getting it all back together 🤣🤣🤣

Can you replace the bearings yourself or is it just of replacement roller?
If it is replacement is it exchange or just throw away?
90% of the rollers are disposable and the whole unit needs to be replaced.
However, you do get the occasional one which has grease nipples at either end. However, my opinion is that whichever roller you have, the sitting over winter destroys them and you are better to replace the whole thing when you can.
Best of luck,
Jimmy 👍

Where do you get yours from as I guess Ransome direct will be expensive?
Jimmy , the part I had problems with was where the roller is attached to the cutter body , not the brackets that can be seen in this video but the ones which are more horizontal at either side, I suspect I may have broken a thread on one as the large headed bolt wouldn't move, any thoughts ?
That video will be out in the next week or so.
I think it's a 32mm bolt that holds the cast iron bracket with the brass pivot in that you are talking about.
They are notoriously to remove because they don't have a nut on and are threaded in to the case.
The dirt and water gets in to the back of this thread and locks them tight.
There is supposed to be a woodruff key in there to stop this happening but unfortunately, if they aren't serviced on a regular basis then they seize solid.
Keep your eyes peeled for future videos,
Jimmy.
@@JimmyTheMower yeah that’s sounds right. Think I didn’t get it right last time and as a result I’ve had excessive wear on the roller bearing.
The roller bearings suffer regardless.
I've had greasable rollers and non greasable rollers and either way they only last a season.
They don't like being stood over winter and they soon seem to break down within the first few weeks of the season if they aren't changed.
@@JimmyTheMower In my case the spigot that fits into the holder wore down and the bloody thing dropped out.
Oh no.
