So my thought on this is to replace the original 12 volt battery that the ice house came with a 12 volt 100 amp hr lithium and leave that wired by itself. Use another 12 volt 150 amp hr lithium with the inverter.Lithiums do not have to be vented so take out the battery vent that goes to the outside and replace that with a 120volt outdoor socket. Use an 120 volt 1500 watt inverter on battery #2 and feed the 120volts back in to the ice house from the 120volt socket and into the 30amp original socket that you will reduce to 120 volts. This would then give you 120volt power threw all your original plugs, run your microwave and charge battery #1 from the ice house converter. You would then just remove the one battery for charging. This would then prevent you from running wires threw your house.

Best way to make coffee is old school percolating on gas, or boil water and make it French press. That’s how I do coffee on and off grid.

I mean, charging lead acid batteries produce hydrogen gas. Not a problem when you’re draining them, but an issue when you’re running the generator which recharges your batteries too. 5:47

Hi. Where did you purchase your power equipment from and/or what brands are they? Please reply. Thank you.

Good stuff. That fuel does get spendy. I'm new to the "4 season camper" game and am just now piecing together my power. I'm kind of a diagram guy and am more versed in solar panel charging of a parallel system. In this case, you have an inverter generator to charge the 12v system. Is there a 12vDC charging outlet on your generator? Are you using the RV outlet? I'm not clear on your source of charging power. What model Generator are you using and has your system met your needs? Thank you.

Yes eventually I would like to move to solar power. charged it with my generator. I believe it's 5,000 watt

@@natesatrang Thanks for your timely response. When you go to solar I recommend the Anderson plug for your connections.

Yeah my generator has the 110 power outlet that I plug my camper plug-in into. it's the 12v on one side, camper plug on the other. Sorry I don't know the technical term behind the camper plug. But that charges the whole system I would say within a couple hours. And I would say I can get a good 8 hours of runtime out of the batteries before I have to kick the generator on again. It's way better! Before it was maybe an hour.

How do you charge the batteries? Did you install a charger or just use single 12volt battery charger?

Will your furnace run off the batteries?
