The adult Clover we see here is thrusting its head about a cloud layer. Since the lowest clouds form at approximately 6500 feet, that would mean the adult Clover's height is over a mile high. I wish Abrams would make another sequel. There's definitely an audience for it.
I love the way the clover species of monsters' roar makes that almost horn-like sound at the end of it. Idk why but that shit is so scary sounding to me.

The video pointed out that the type of clouds in this scene is only found somewhere in the middle of one of the oceans in the world. Meaning this Clover isn't standing on the surface like us, it's standing probably in one of the most deepest parts of our planet. This thing is Huge.
You're giving way too much credit to the film makers. Maybe if you were capturing real life phenomenon here but it's like this scene is 100% cgi which means you would have to rely on the film makers being very knowledgeable of this and this is also unlikely. Don't overthink it

Not really. They made the creature too big. Look at that thing! It’s teeth are designed for tearing flesh off bodies and they’re larger then blue whales the largest animal on earth. What is a predatory creature that size going to sustain itself with? A lot of people will die just happening to be in its path and either getting stepped on, landed on or crushed by something else knocked over by the creature but if they can avoid being crushed they’ll be fine once the last of the monsters starve.

Hopefully the next one will actually see the monster come back. It’s been confirmed to be a true and dedicated sequel to Cloverfield, so I assume it will and this tease isn’t just for nothing. I think the reason 10 Cloverfield Lane worked despite both this movie and 10 Cloverfield Lane both being recycled and turned into Cloverfield movies from old scripts is because 10 stood on its own very well for what it was. But this next one won’t be like that, it’ll be an original script developed from the ground up as a Cloverfield sequel. Hopefully they’ll make it work, JJ Abrams still has some work to do if he wants to make Clover the “American Godzilla”

Not really. They made the creature too big. Look at that thing! It’s teeth are designed for tearing flesh off bodies and they’re larger then blue whales the largest animal on earth. What is a predatory creature that size going to sustain itself with?
A lot of people will die just happening to be in its path and either getting stepped on, landed on or crushed by something else knocked over by the creature but if they can avoid being crushed they’ll be fine once the last of the monsters starve.

At 0:11 there’s about 0.15 seconds between when clover first opens its mouth and its roar is heard, meaning the camera must be about 50 m away. Its head takes up about 1/4 the frame width, with a standard camera FOV of 38°, this equals an angular size of approximately 10°. With the distance and angular size, this gives a head height of 10 m. Based on a diagram of it, the head should represent about 1/5 the total height, giving a height of about 50 meters. This doesn’t make any sense.
At 0:04 clover rises about half the frame FOV in a second, giving 20°. Since we don’t see a sonic boom, this means its head must be no more than 150 meters tall, giving 800 meters.
If there is indeed a space shuttle somewhere in the video that’s falling into the ocean, it would have to be no less than 3500 meters tall. Problem is we clearly see mountains in the distance. They’re either high in the mountains or this is fog rather than clouds.

The thing that pisses me off about the cloverfield movies is that you don’t even get to see the damn monsters outside of a couple of cutscenes. I want to see this thing destroy a city not a fucking shaky pov cam of a shadow or a 16 second clip of it screaming.

@@The275 Fun fact clover monsters are not heavy so stepping on Godzilla would be like stepping on a Lego but a 100000000 times more powerful.
Hopefully the next one will actually see the monster come back. It’s been confirmed to be a true and dedicated sequel to Cloverfield, so I assume it will and this tease isn’t just for nothing.
I think the reason 10 Cloverfield Lane worked despite both this movie and 10 Cloverfield Lane both being recycled and turned into Cloverfield movies from old scripts is because 10 stood on its own very well for what it was.
But this next one won’t be like that, it’ll be an original script developed from the ground up as a Cloverfield sequel. Hopefully they’ll make it work, JJ Abrams still has some work to do if he wants to make Clover the “American Godzilla”
