Oh my goodness!!!! I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!!!! The Twilight Zone and inner dialogue bit had me almost in tears!!!! Please send this to Universal Audio, they can use this for sure because I'm switching from the 1073 to that 1084 immediately! Thank you so much for this, keep doing videos. I am now subbed my friend. Fantastic job!
Love hearing your radio voice 👏👏. Makes the videos more pleasant and interesting because you’re zooming into how the voice sounds that you can actually hear the changes with the plugins . 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can understand that. I was hesitant to get into the Apollo thing at first but once I did, it was like, "Whoooooa". Perhaps I should do a video this week about why you should get into the whole Apollo thing.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff it's a compelling product for sure! I have a few channels of nice pres, some decent EQ's, and an RME babyface, which is a great setup, but the ability to try out a bunch of different chains is pretty sweet.
But can`t we just record clean and do such things after? I see just a bit of overdrive that suits to low quiet voice. It`s good for realtime but we can emulate this and even better while mixing. Can`t we?)))
Wow your voice sounds amazing with the API ! Absolutely love that sound on you. Wish you used it a bit more. Wonder what a physical hardware would sound like?
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that and I’m very glad you enjoyed it. :) Hey everybody! See, I told you this IS the best tutorial on RUclips, so we can just stop posting all other tutorials, ok? (Insert mic drop here).
I’m going to show your comment to my wife and she will either laugh at me, laugh at you or laugh at both of us, but either way it will prove to anyone who cares that the people who watch my videos do know how to spell.
What an awesome, entertaining, and thorough comparison. Thank you for this! You’ve earned a sub from me. Quick question! For a podcasting scenario, with a Shure SM7B, which of these preamps would you recommend to compliment its sound signature?
Thank you and thanks for the sub! So, for the 7b, if you like the sound of the mic, go with something clean-ish. I like the Neve88rs for clean and big. The EQ on it is not as musical or easy to dial in as the SSL, but it's a very wide sound. If you want to lean a little more bright and present, and want to tame some low and low mid resonances, go with the SSL. I'd take a channel strip over a straight pre so you can take advantage of the built in dynamics section and EQ. A lot of people like the 7b into a Neve, in which case I'd lean toward the 1084 over the 1073. Hope this helps.
Absolutely love the 1084 to cut vocals. Until actually buying the hardware I don’t see the point in using anything else. Until the 1084 came out I wasn’t really satisfied recording through a plugin. 1084 is the best in my opinion and I have them all.

Almost? And I was trying for full tears. 😂 Thank you so much! Hahaha!! I’m very happy you enjoyed it and stoked you’re subscribed.
Great comparison and good point about the inner dialog settings these pre-amps can drive! Thank you for putting this together.
My pleasure, man! And thank you for inspiring me to make this comparison happen.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I think the sum of those differences means there’s a UAD sound to flatter every voice.
You just made me want the 1084>1073
Love that 1084! You’re making me want an Apollo now, dang it

@@marmaladecream2233 I get where you're coming from. I'm going to definitely make a video about this.

brilliant video mate (all summer long) 🤣
Glad you enjoyed it!

@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff 😆 funny!! You should be a comedian you have the character and a great sense of humour 😂 thank you for your reply 😆
V76 is missing here and it's one of the best Unison preamps of the family IMHO.
Yeah. Personally not a fan of the V76 on my voice.
You're the best.
Thank you Karl! Well, you know in a competitive business like VO where there is often no prize for second place, I don’t really have a choice.
@@MarkYoshimotoNemcoff that made you who you are right now. I'm always learning from you, brother.
Thank you ❤
You're welcome 😊
Lol love your video demo ..you have amazing! Voice 👏👍👌🔥
Thank you so much!
Genius

I ALSO LIKE THE VOXBOX
I know, tough to choose. Lots of good options.

The 1084 has so much depth. It’s a mojo machine. If all I did was music this would be my go to on everything.
All Summer Long….
My family thinks I’m crazy because I just randomly talk like this throughout the day…
Oh yeah. Also try:
This weekend only…
Coming this month…
In a world…
And..
Last chance before it’s gone…
NEVE 88 & NEVE 1084
Oh yes!
1084>voxbox>1073 for me
That 1084 is something else, right?
