  • Fished a few jetties in the Atlantic Beach area. Caught a ton of flounder. Had a blast. I usually catch a few trout or drum in these areas but I didn't get any this trip. I'll be back next year.

Since you can't throw the cast net try a smaller diameter one. And you never lift the fish with the rod and line like that. Hence why you lost it. Good way to break your rod and line.

I threw a 3/16 mesh 6 ft. Does not get much smaller. I lost the fish because I was on the jetty in a bad spot. I thought I explained that when I said, “this is a better angle at the jetty,” after moving. The rod had no chance of breaking

What brand and size circle hooks do you use? MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM Ohio

Merry Christmas. To be honest I don’t recall what I used since it’s been over a year. Possibly XFISHMAN Octopus. Sizes differ depending on the baits. Glass minnows would be smaller hook than a mullet. I have to do a better job of talking about the tackle and gear I use.

Do you catch your mud crabs ,and where do you get the sea urchins, I looked on RUclips here in Florida and no one has them

See urchins in NC are caught on walls and structure usually at low tide, they are easier to get to then.

Was wondering where you were casting your net to get your bait?? I’ve fished the Ft Macon beach in the past, typically inlet area close to Coast Guard Station

Bait is all over any inlets, bays, creeks in the summer in NC. Finger mullet, glass minnows, pin fish….. Also, it’s easy to get bait on the beach if the surf is right. Really easy to get bait around jetties. Just don’t throw to close to the rocks.

I really don't understand why some fisherman don't just carry their pliers with them ??????????????

Of all the videos you could comment on you are worried about pliers? This is a troll, right?
I don’t like to put metal in saltwater when wading. Next time I might have a vest but I live 9 hours away from this location and I’m not driving home to pickup something I don’t have on me.

If you don’t mind, I’m new to the area and was wondering how you get to the jetty?

Can you give me the address where you are fishing on the beach but on the rocks please

Look up Fort Macon that is near Atlantic Beach NC. Use google maps. You will see the rock jetty if you walk the beach. Can’t miss it.
